Tried this place for the first time last weekend. The interior is very modern and clean looking. I liked the idea that this place is fast casual and they bring the food out to you compared to every other burger joint where you wait for your order at the counter. Between the 3 of us I got to try the burger, the chicken and one of the salads. The burger was very good, but the bun was a bit wet from the grease upon delivery. I tried the smash fries and enjoyed them because they were seasoned nicely, yet the seasoning didn't overpower the fries. The quality of the grilled chicken was good too. I'm going to subtract a star because I wasn't a fan of the balsamic salad dressing used on the salad. It was very processed, and commercial tasting. Someone gave us a gift certificate to Smashburger so we high tailed it over for lunch in Wantagh. Service: EXCELLENT. They couldn't be nicer. They delivered our food to the table. And there are no garbage pails so we couldn't even clear our places when we were leaving. There is a tip jar at the front by the register so we left a tip. Atmosphere: Nicer than a general fast food place. We got a table immediately. But still fast food atmosphere. Food: I got the bacon cheeseburger and had them add lots of jalapeno peppers. We also ordered the Smashfries. While the taste of everything tasted OK (nothing like the bacon cheeseburger I reviewed a few weeks ago at the Peekskill Brewery!), it all glistened with GREASE. Really way too much grease for my taste. But I LOOOOVED having the jalapenos and the bacon on the burger. I really enjoyed that! The french fries were so tiny and thin. They weren't satisfying at all. While the meal wasn't horrible, we would opt to go to All American in Massapequa any time over going back here. Now, if I compare it to McDonalds, Burger King or Wendys, there is no comparison. This place blows them away. Cost: We got 2 hamburgers, 1 fries and 1 drink and the bill came to $19. This place is close by my house and never disappoints . It's a classic Burger spot, with the best Oreo milk shake around , I know that's a bold statement but I stand by it. I think the shakes are better then the burgers if that's possible. If your a little crispy fires onion fan this place is for you , my wife gets those little fired onions with bleu cheese and it's really good. Their cheesy fries are awesome and they have honest tea on tap. Lots of windows and they have cold beers if you want with your burger. read more

I had been pretty much a regular as I live close by. Chicken sandwiches are a favorite of mine and I like smash's as well. But now I'm done with Smashburger as the size of the chicken patty has become smaller and smaller. Half the size of Wendy's and chic fil a. It's just ridiculous. I really despise feeling like I'm getting ripped off in anything I purchase, especially food, since the margins are so high. Easily one of the most unorganized and dirtiest locations i have been to. Unfortunately it is the closest to my house. Since this place opened it has been run backwards. The ice cream shake station is always a disaster as well as the tables and drink station. I literally watched one of the female employees clean a table by wiping all the crumbs on the floor and walk away. Shocking how good Smashburger really is. My friends and family have always told me to go and try it out (considering I love the burgers at BurgerFi). I have to say, Smashburger smashed the competition..... I tried the burger and the chicken burger, and they were outstanding. The Rosemary fries were more like fries that you would find at an upscale restaurant, and they tasted just great, plus were fried to perfection. The soda machine was your typical run of the mill dispenser. But the atmosphere was outstanding, and more importantly, The staff treated us great. First time here. Sensational burger! Much neater presentation than Five Guys (the food that is, served in see-thru containers). Had the New Yorker, with chilli cheese fries, and an Oreo shake. Food sub par and incorrect. Ordered burger with cheese and other toppings no cheese. Ordered smash fries got regular fries. Ordered milkshake, person at the counter said yes it's in the bag. Wrong not in bag had to go back to get it. I'll be going back to Five Guys instead. read more

I was extremely impressed with the selection and quality of burgers. This place is really quality and if you want to satisfy your burger craving this is definitely the place to go. The shakes were really delicious, I had a chocolate and its Hagen daz brand, so good. This is definitely as close to fast food as you can without going to the usual suspects. The bun was definitely enjoyable, as was the vanilla shake, but the fries were very greasy and worst of all the hamburger. The patty is extremely thin, it is not juicy, it is bland. I came here for the first time with my girlfriend and it was one of the nicest food experiences ever. The staff was very accommodating. We split a burger fries and shake. The burger was nicely cut in half and the shake was delivered in separate glasses with whipped cream. We didn't even have to ask for separate cups. The food was also delicious. Every time I order online, there is an issue. Either the order gets lost in the system so I wait longer than if I would have walked in and ordered, the orders wrong or I get someone else's order. The shakes are never ready so I have to wait for them to be made while my food gets cold and the whole point of ordering online is lost. You're lucky the food is good. read more

Bash the Smash? I really want to like Smash Burger. Gourmet burgers done almost any way you wish. Simple but modern decor and seating. Quality food at least a couple of notches above the fast food kings. Yet they're doing their best to turn me off. Today, for example : The $4.00 double cheeseburger "Pub" special increases to $9.77 with tax if you want turkey instead of beef! Huh? Feeling a bit cheap, I opted for a single turkey burger for 7 bucks plus. The cashier also doubles as a waitress and must run from the front counter to the kitchen and wait tables. There were plenty of empty tables but barely a clean one. In my journey to find one, I made my way toward the rear tables on a floor slippery enough to challenge an NHL player. I decided to clean my hands and found a sloppy men's room with an over flowing trash bin and an empty towel dispenser. Yuck so far. In the few minutes I waited for my overpriced burger, I witnessed 2 folks complaining about incorrect orders. I added a star here only because the spartan, overworked staff seems to try hard in absence of any actual management. I hope the other Smash locations aren't like this one. read more

On a Sunday evening the line was out the door there was one person at there register. One person for a Sunday night and the line is out the door?!?!? Then after a half hour wait we got to the front were we found out they ran out of bacon. They ran out of freaking bacon at a burger place. Bacon that's like running out of napkins or ketchup. How does that happen?!?! Did they not order enough from the vendor or as clearly demonstrated by the lack of people working registers they must not care at all. They have pretty good burgers, but it's a little hit and miss, especially when it come to the fries. Last time I went to Smashburger the fries were cold and kind of chewy like they'd been sitting out for a while. If you get fresh fries, they're real good, but the fact that you never know what you're going to get is a turn off. There's probably 3 or 4 burger places better, but this place is close so I still go there sometimes. The place is very dirty, the tables are filthy, food and drinks not wiped off, floor with garbage. Makes you wonder what happens in the back where the food is made. I want to say that I do not post this lightly, I love the food and this is based on a few visits. We always have to ask for the table to be cleaned, always and it is gross I promise. The burger was tasty and a nice size. The grilled chicken was one of the worst I have experienced. All the fast food chains were far better and I am including the dollar or value menu. The main problem was there was nobody up front to take orders. I had to wait 6 minutes and would have left if my granddaughter wasn't with me. A young couple that was behind me did walk out. The young man apologized and said he was helping out on the floor. This is poor training, as someone must always be at the front to serve customers asap.
