I don't really understand the hype behind this burger joint... I ordered a cheeseburger, and it came with a small patty, half-melted cheese, ketchup, and pickles. There was nothing that really stood out to me. It tasted like a regular burger. Nothing special! I also tried the hot dog, which was just OK... meh. They had run out of mustard, which was disappointing. The onion rings were another letdown. I was expecting fresh, thick cut onion rings, but these were the overly processed, heavily breaded kind. The fries were also pretty mid and lacked crispiness. To make things worse, they forgot our fish fillet sandwich, and we didn't realize until we got home. The fries - easily some of the best I've ever tasted and I'm not a fry person. The onion rings were a bit soggy for my taste. Now... the burger. It was good. We liked the old drive-in style of All American Hamburger Drive In. Parts of the building, like the front counter area, are covered from the elements but the few tables they have aren't. Bec of the season and we went on a cold windy day, we ate in the car. Found residential parking nearby. We entered thru the back door (sign said to make one line; helps flow of people traffic) and joined the line. There were at least 3 registers taking orders so whoever was ready stepped up to one of them. Menu is posted behind them. Ordering was quick bec. we just read off the menu ( I did wish there were options to add some veggie toppings). Picked up our order when called, from the right side of the counter. Prices are really good. Each of us had complete meals plus extra for around $10-12 each. The beef patty in the hamburger was small so took off 1/2 of the bun. I guess I can try the double header next time. I liked the fish sandwich with the tartar sauce, and the hot knish, plus the good-sized chocolate shake for $2.85! Service was fast, and friendly. They had 3-4 cashiers open. Credit cards are accepted. There was only seating outside in front. No seating inside. For ~$11 I was able to get a cheeseburger (very flat looking), fish filet sandwich (the fish was a decent size), a small fry and a small onion ring (5 pieces). The price was pretty good for what I got but the food itself was just average. It didn't stand out to me and wasn't amazing. Would I return? Yes. But it wouldn't be my #1 go to. read more
