Also loved that they can make their own "Invisilign," which is a more approachable option and works all the same. We have absolutely no complaints. Inside a newer building, the office is clean and nice. The lobby is decorated with D.C. art and photos of willing clients on the wall. (My daughter loves finding her photo and the photos of her school friends.) Restrooms are just outside the lobby door. There's street parking nearby that's usually easy to find compared to other city neighborhoods.

I submitted a request on their website, and they responded via email the same day with their availability for the next few days. I *hate* talking on the phone, especially to schedule something, so this was an immediate green flag. Second: they actually use the paperwork you submit in advance! None of this nonsense where you fill out tons of paperwork ahead of your appointment only to be handed a clipboard and asked to do it all over again in person. Third: everybody, from Dr. Romsa to the front desk person, is extremely friendly and personable. The vibe was kind of like I was hanging out with new friends who just so happen to work in orthodontics. The office itself is very modern and bright, while still being warm and welcoming. Fourth: they were very timely. Despite the fact that there were several other people there when I arrived for my 9:00 appointment, I was taken care of right away, and was never left sitting alone waiting on the next step. Fifth: great website with very clear instructions on how to find them. Street parking in the area can be hit-or-miss, but the Trader Joe's garage is a good, reliable option. Sixth: I went in expecting to replace a broken bottom retainer - one of the old school pink-and-wire ones from (literally) 2005 - because a little piece of the plastic had chipped off the back. After seeing that it still fit and served its purpose, Dr. Romsa offered to just polish the broken edge to make it comfortable, and sent me on my way! With a new retainer case to boot! No making me a new retainer I didn't need. No upselling me on what I am sure is cooler, newer retainer technology. No pointing out any imperfections that have cropped up since I got my braces off almost two decades ago. All around just a fantastic experience. My only regret is that I may not ever have a reason to go back. But if something does come up, I know exactly where I'll go!

Many of these orthodontists now have super busy offices, seeing 80 plus patients a day. These types of practices can leave you feeling a bit confused because no one has time to really talk with you due to so many patients. Dr Sheferrman, even though I only saw him for a consultation and not treatment, doesn't have that style of a practice. The others are not bad, it just depends on your patient-style as to what you prefer in an orthodontist. Adult patients normally are more interactive than child patients and Dr Shefferman has a majority of adults.

The atmosphere is incredibly friendly and welcoming. They'll never rush you out the door or off the phone, even when they're packed. Every time I visit or call to make an appointment I have a fun chat with Sagan, and these folks always remember little details about my life the next time we talk. (They even noticed when I got a new haircut!) I've never had a medical team treat me so much like they really cared about me personally. This is probably why the waiting room always feels like such a pleasant place--even the fellow patients are friendly and chatty. These folks have worked with me with through three different insurance plans without any problems. You can also opt to be reminded of appointments via text, which is endlessly helpful for me. They're quick to reply to emails and scheduling is always super painless. Dr. Bruk is skilled, charismatic, and highly emotionally intelligent.
