I really enjoyed my visit yesterday. I have had braces before, but I wanted an option to get rid of a gap post braces. I didn't want to pay for Invisalign due to the high cost. My close friend started doing smile direct, so I decided to find out more. I did a little searching online and saw that they have a physical site in Jacksonville, so I set an appointment. I literally booked the appointment on Friday evening and was in the office on Saturday morning. I was helped by Lena and Alex who were really great in giving info about the product. I really liked the option of coming in to the office because they allowed me to get virtual scans as oppose to making my own molds. I felt this option was way more precise than doing them at home by yourself. I actually did a similar scan at my dentist office, so it was really nice to see that they were using the same technology as other dental offices. I decided to bite the bullet and try it. Here we are another year later... listen people don't do it!!! This company still cannot get the retainers right for my teeth to make sure my smile doesn't shift back. I am retaining a lawyer because my teeth are going to shift back without proper fitting retainers. Please see the attached photo of the aligners that fit my mouth and the retainers that were sent to me. They are telling me these will fit but anyone can see there is literally additional teeth slots in the retainers I got! read more

Good morning to the San Marco team! I had a great visit with Brandon & Cerellina this morning. Brandon welcomed me in and Cerellina completed my scan. The entire process from sign-in to the complete scan took exactly 9 minutes and 52 seconds. The scan was the majority of the time with about 7 minutes. This is because I needed to take new photos (aligners in and out) and then a new scan. So, my visit was a little different than a new in-person scan where the process is explained and your needs are met and listened to by the scanner. Either way, this is such a great place! FYI, if you're coming from someplace where you've eaten before your appointment, there is a separate bathroom to brush your teeth before the scan. Also, Brandon literally sanitized the entire place. It smelled wonderful! *and* let them know if you need any of the SDC products. If they don't have any in the shop, they will show you where to order on the SDC Shop website. Anyway! Great morning. i would like to thank hakeem and team for being so very professional, friendly and for getting my journey back on track. im so very happy. i made the trip from savannah to jacksonville for a in person scan, after a year of neglect, missed communication, missed handled, and misplaced, impression kits, and so many calls and emails with so many different people that didnt resolve anything. i had already written this experience off as a lost and this was absolutely my last resort, because i didnt want to make this 2 1/2 hr trip, but im very happy that i did, hakeem was very professional and asked the right questions to perform the scan, he wanted to make sure he covered everything that i was expecting for my journey, i received my new aligners and they fit perfectly with no problems, i can't wait to see the final results. i would reccommend anyone who wants and impression scan to go to this jacksonville location,and see hakeem they are awesome. thanks read more

Made my boyfriend an appointment here after seeing their commercial on television, and he got an entirely free consultation along with a free scanning/digital imaging of his teeth ! It was the nearest thing and it was so fast! All of the staff was INSANELY friendly and helpful, so kind! It was very very clean in the office and I love the aesthetic of the entire place really. They also were generous enough to send him home with a tote bag reading "smiling is contagious" , a lip balm , plus a free whitening kit . Another (final) update: Smile Direct Club has reached out to me both via Yelp and email to apologize for the run-around and confirm my refund is processing. The company seems to be much more efficient and accurate through written communication! Updated review: Though I received a response to this review claiming payment information was not required at the visit, my "smile guide", Kayla, insisted I provide information even though I didn't want to start right away, and then call customer service after to place a hold on my account until I was ready to proceed. I did this immediately after my scans and it seemed to go fine, until today, I received an email stating my aligners were being processed and I had been charged for my treatment plan. Again, I called customer service and they wanted to know why I wanted to "cancel". It was a bit frustrating to have to explain for the THIRD time. The representative said that she processed a refund, but I have little faith this is actually going to happen considering the first representative failed to actually place a hold on my account, AND after I made it clear to my original smile guide I wouldn't be ready to start right away. Excellent and efficient service! I made my appointment online the day before. CC required to book appointment, but no fee. I ended up calling twice to change it and then change it back the day of do a crazy work schedule, but the staff was so friendly and accommodating! There is plenty of parking out back, behind PWOT and The Flame Broiler. You can then walk in from the backside. Immediately you're greeted by a friendly smile and a nice office. First was the scans, which took just a few minutes and just involved a big wand taking pictures of my teeth. A little uncomfortable but quick and painless. After, the scans were reviewed and confirmed by two people. We then reviewed the timeline and payment plans. It takes about 3 days for scans to be confirmed. At that time, your CC on file is charged based on the payment plan you selected and you will receive your ALL of your aligners in one big box in 4 weeks. I left with a goodie bag that included lip balm and a teeth whitener. The biggest draw back- this place is not for someone with passive interest. I did not know much about the company or treatment plan, but they expect you to put a CC on file and agree to a payment plan at that very first, and last, office visit. Their social media ads push you to book a scan, but do not do so until you a ready to commit. Like I said, within 3 days of your scan you will be charged for your aligners ($1800+) I explained to my "smile guide" I wasn't planning on starting this treatment until the new year, so ultimately I had to call customer service and have them place a hold on my account. They suggested that when the time comes, I return for additional scans in case there have been any changes over the few months I waited. Though my visit was pleasant and quick, it could've been a total waste since I was not planning on immediately starting my treatment and will likely return for scans in a month or two when I am ready. read more

Jenni was great! Knowledgable, friendly and helpful. Process was simple. I previously did the at home impressions with the putty. The shop was a much easier process and saved time from sending the diy at home impressions back and waiting to see if they were done correctly or not. If the at home impressions are not done correctly you have to resubmit and wait again. Much quicker and easier to go into the shop. I would recommend. After booking your appointment you will receive emails and texts (alot), but pay attention one of them had a coupon for $100 off aligners. Easy to find, good parking, nice office and great Sales people. You are greeted warmly offered water, complete registration on ipad. Introduced to your smile guide, quick painless scans done, provide your CC for payment, given goody bag and then go home and wait. I questioned Alex regarding negative reviews on the company CS particularly that it is located outside of US and how horrible it was for some clients. He honestly answered questions and explained that the company was expanding but assured me the manufacturing kinks are not an issue presently. I appreciate his honesty. My smile guide Nova was professional and efficient. She answered all my questions and gave some great tips (no coffee Weekend during whitening). Final tip... I went to smile direct club in san marco jax fl as a part of my "mommy make over" for my 32 birthday. I felt like actually taking that nexhit step forward when i found out they give you a free 3d screen of your teeth instead of doing a second guessing self-dental inpression. I am writing this post because i was so impressed by the prodessionalism and caring nature of the employees ( who were long time practicing dental assistants) they took joy in making me smile. I never use social media or take time to put myself out there in review form but these ladies deserve the recognition. Such a great expreience. So disappointed! After faithfully following my scheduled treatment I ordered my retainers the end of November. 1st delay, the order was never placed, 2nd delay the order was pushed back because it did not pass quality inspection. I just received an email Saturday saying that my order for my retainers was JUST placed & it will be another 5-8 weeks!! After multiple phone calls I got nowhere! They don't care! I made my appointment a few weeks ago for today. I've actually considered doing smiles direct for some time but was leery about the home kit and quality of the trays. After finding out about the scans, their quality and a local office I decided to give it a try. They sent me several email reminders and a text reminder this morning along with a picture of the office and a link to driving directions. This was nice so I didn't have to google search the directions before leaving. The office was easy to find and had plenty of parking. The office was a nice surprise given the rather unorthodox placement of the entrance. It was clean, modern and quiet. Jennie was the dental assistant to help me. She asked why I was there today/what my expectations were. I told her I previously had traditional braces as a teenager and hadn't worn my retainers leading to the shifting of a few front teeth. I was already evaluated and a candidate for Invisalign, but couldn't swallow the $5600 price tag. Especially because my issues were very minor and completely cosmetic. She explained everything before she started and while she was doing the scan. She also reiterated the importance of ordering retainers (not included in initial price) as I well know and the whole reason for today's visit. She answered questions about the company, my "journey " as they call it and anything I wanted to know. She made everything very relaxed and comfortable. She showed me my scan and explained what I was seeing, what the Drs reviewing the scan would be looking for and when/what to expect next. She explained the 2 payment options, and although that is all they show you, I never felt any pressure to purchase. If I wasn't happy I would have felt perfectly comfort telling her I wanted to wait or think about it. The site is very clear on pricing and if success can not be achieved, the Drs will deny the approval and you aren't charged for anything. I did ask what warrants not being approved. She named several things including the need for prior extensive dental care and procedures where traditional orthodontia is needed. The environment was very professional and sanitary. There were regularly pictures taken with a plastic mouth piece and then the scan with a disposable cover. During each step her gloves were changed, the plastic sheet over my lap, the plastic mouth piece and the disposable cover were thrown out. She opened the sealed packages they came in in front of me. You wouldn't expect anything cleaner in any dental or orthodontic office. I also want to note that I brought my preteen daughter with me and they were very friendly and engaging with her as well. She's already had orthodontic work so it wasn't to try to sell me for her. Over-all if someone is planning on doing smiles direct, I highly recommend coming in for the scan at this office. read more
