I went into this dentist through a referral because my dad happens to work for the nearby hospital and was told by coworkers to go to this place. He and I have completely different insurances and this clearly played a part in sure in the lack of empathy and experience I received from the staff at this dental office. My second time coming for treatment here I noticed the utmost disrespect from the lady who helps take the x-rays. She's very rude and disrespectful with her words. She became irritated and combative when I tried to explain to her what the reasons for my visit. Both the doctor and this assistant recklessly discussed my treatment and mouth as if I wasn't sitting there and still told me I wasn't in pain from a tooth I came in the office for. She literally tried to rush me through the initial conversation, instead of listening. The first thing in any job or business is to listen to the customers concerns , both her and the front desk representative, are were utterly rude. They're racist, and you can clearly see it in their responses and their demeanor. I gladly got out of the chair as she began speaking to me in a discerning manner .They did not like that I was able to speak up for myself, they really didn't like that, and they gladly told me they didn't want my business. When you have a whole office of racist foreigners clinging to the thought that you as a patient, somehow are wrong for expressing your concerns on treatment when you're literally allowing them to charge your insurance is blasphemy! This is exactly why Donald Trump getting rid of non American people because they come here start businesses and then talk crap to the people who patronize there but don't worry they won't get my business or any of my family's business going forward. I have been bringing my family to this clinic for some time, but after my recent experience, I will never return. My 6-year-old daughter was recently treated by the dentist himself, and his behavior was completely unacceptable. As most parents know, children are naturally nervous at the dentist. Instead of trying to build trust or calm her down, the doctor resorted to yelling at her to stop moving. He then threatened her, telling my 6-year-old that if she didn't stop crying, he would send her to a specialist. When she (being a scared child) agreed to go to a specialist, he abruptly stopped the treatment and told me to take her elsewhere just because she said "ok." It was incredibly distressing to see a medical professional lack the basic patience needed to work with a child. Our children are precious and deserve to be treated with kindness, not hostility. Please do not waste your time here if you have little ones--they deserve much better care than what we received. Bottom line: I do not recommend this clinic anymore. read more

ROOT CANALS from this Dr.Cheng!!! Hell no! I had 3 root canals and crowns put on. I paid the Dr. with cash ($3000) and 2 have failed. 3 months later I started having breathing problems, I went to my family Doctor and had to get an MRI, I developed a condition called sinusitis due to a "failed root canal" preformed by this office. I confronted this doctor with my MRI and paperwork and he quickly issued me a refund check $840 but refused to pay me back for the crowns. Now I'm scheduled for surgery for a sinusitis condition I developed because of his malpractice and ignorance on how to perform root canals. I'll post the evidence if anyone doesn't believe me. Still have his refund check ! Find a different dentist if you need something other than a standard cleaning. read more

A friend of mine recommended I come here for my invisalign. I had read previous reviews at various places and a lot of them were mixed; some good some bad. I did enough research and decided I wanted to take the plunge and make a fat dent in my wallet. Pricing was reasonable and comparable other dentists, so that wasn't a big issue. Dr. Chen is truly an awesome dentist and makes me feel comfortable. He's highly knowledgable and always lets me know ahead of time what to expect. The office is new. Very nice and clean and the staff are friendly and accommodating. I come back once month for follow-ups and to pick up additional trays and it's always a pleasant experience. I've been here about 3 times. First time I had an emergency cracked tooth, the doctor helped me fix my tooth with a root canal. Second time I had a teeth cleaning. No complaints, nice people. But on the third visit I had an emergency infection, I was starting to swell and was in so much pain. I didn't feel cared for like I usually felt when I was getting my work done, I felt like the doctor didn't have enough time to spend on my issue. All he did was prep my tooth "to be saved" for the following week. didn't pay any attention to the fact that this infection is getting worse. I was sent home with a proscription that I was thankful for. That night my gums bursted open from the infection! At this point I'm furious because how can my doctor who I trusted, didn't do what needed to be done. The tooth needed to be extracted and drained! Not prepped to be saved! I had to go another day and night with this unbearable pain when the doctor could have ended this when I was there! No dentist is open on Sundays so I had to drive down to Orange County to be seen by a dentist that was open 7 days of the week that I am so thankful for. The dentist looked at me with huge eyes with concern because my cheek is a huge golf ball from the infection. They kept asking me "why didn't the doctor extract and drain your tooth why would he try to save your tooth, when your tooth isn't save able it needs to come out" the infection was so bad it almost went to my nerves! I don't think I can ever come back to smile haven after this. read more

PLEASE CHECK YOUR INSURANCE AFTER THEY BILL YOU. THEY ARE CROOKS CHARGING YOUR INSURANCE FOR WORK THAT WASN'T DONE. I took my wife here for a basic cleaning based on all the positive stellar reviews. The service was ok at best however behind the scene, they are charging your dental insurance with false claims. I took my wife here last Nov 2014 for a check up and a regular cleaning and was advised that they would not x-ray my wife due to her being 3 months pregnant. I asked them if it would be safe to do a basic regular cleaning and they said yes. So here I am thinking my wife was getting a reg basic cleaning that lasted 15-20 mins to later find out through my insurance that they claimed that they did a full deep cleaning on all quadrants of her mouth. I called Smile Haven Dental and spoke with the billing clerk who checked with Dr. Cheng claiming that my wife's cleaning was a deep cleaning. I'm thinking how could this be? I certainly know what the difference between deep cleaning and regular cleaning and due to my wife's pregnancy, she wouldn't opt for deep cleaning without any numbing. And besides, who does deep cleaning that lasted 15-20 MINS?????Now I'm in the middle of filing my grievance with my insurance. THIS OFFICE IS SHADY AND A BUNCH OF CROOKS.
