Didn't know the office is on the 6th floor and only a certain set of elevators go to this floor in the building! I think when patients are making a NP appt, a heads up about this is necessary. The dental office gives out ice cream or candy, which seems to be antithetical to teeth protection but who knows. We never ate that. Now that my older child is four they seem to be doing a more extensive cleaning with her. With my toddler they said to just do my best with the brushing, which I have not been able to do well and now they both have one cavity each!! In between the teeth. I'm pretty upset about it but I've been doing better with brushing twice a day now and flossing at night. So hopefully these will be their last cavities. In fact, I clearly remember missing an appointment in February due to an emergency at the funeral home where I work. I felt terrible about it. Yet Vanessa dismissed my concerns entirely, stating that because I couldn't recall the name of the staff member I spoke to over a year ago, there was "nothing she could do." To make matters worse, she went on to say that we should have been discharged as patients last year. No empathy. No effort to understand. No accountability. We were never notified--by mail or otherwise--about any policy changes. You do not treat loyal families this way after over a decade of trust and commitment. He's been coming here since he was about 9, after we tried a few other dentists before finding the right fit. Because Arjuna is on the spectrum, many places told me I'd need to pay over $1,000 to put him fully to sleep just to examine him. At Smile Reef, they truly understand their patients.
