This is a horrible dishonest company. I needed picture slide show for my brothers funeral. You cannot remove their logo from slides for free. Their website when selecting monthly subscription charges you a full year. When I found out what they did after receiving my credit card bill I cancelled subscription immediately. They will not refund you. You cannot reach them by phone, you have to email. They have little to no customer service. SmileBox quoted a monthly price for their premium service. However they charged me an annual amount. This is 12x what I expected to pay. I have asked several times in writing for SmileBox to adjust my term from annual to monthly, but SmileBox Customer Service has refused. I sent one e-invitation to a dozen persons, and it cost me nearly 50 bucks. If you stay away from the premium service, you'll be ok. Just don't give them your credit card number, PayPal, etc. Check the BBB web site; there are over 100 complaints related to SmileBox billing practices. read more

I have been a premium member for a long time. I love the program, but I am about to quit as I cannot get my iPhone videos to upload. I have tried all the FAQ tips and nothing works. Intentionally misleading about cost. If I could I would give it a zero. The site leads you to believe that it will cost you a little less than $5 dollars to use their card service. However, that is not what it happening. They charge for a year subscription which you find out after you click the option for $4.99. So instead of paying $4.99 you are paying just shy of $60 for the beautiful card you created. There are many other companies out there that offer a similar product without the deception. If you look at the reviews you will see there are many reviews about this issue. I am not the only one. It is intentionally misleading advertising and then when they trick you, they tell you its your fault. 100% do not recommend any company that makes their pricing deliberately deceiving. It doesn't matter how lovely their product is. They intentionally take advantage of people as a policy. Its despicable. It is gross. read more

It's a scam. They over charge your credit card.

This company is terrible! I used them to create a virtual "collage" card to my best friend for her birthday. The reason I purchased it a subscription instead of a free account is that it *claimed* it would post to Facebook. I made the card and posted it to FB and it didn't work. So, then I sent her the link directly for the card - still didn't work. The first thing I did was cancel the monthly subscription and then contacted SmileBox customer service for a refund on the monthly charge for the card I created. They first said they would refund the charge for the month, but then reinstated my monthly subscription which I had already cancelled. So I had to cancel the subscription AGAIN. Then... once I resolved that issue, they refused to reimburse me for the monthly charge for the e-card which didn't work. They said they "tested" it and it was a problem with my friend's computer, but she also tried to open it on her phone and it didn't work there either. Having told them all that, they STILL refused to refund me. I ended up having to call my credit card company to have them refute the charge and BLOCK them from future charges. I have about 10 emails to the SmileBox customer service people as evidence in case they ever try to charge me again. Do yourself and favor and DON'T USE SMILEBOX! read more

I've always been pleased with my creations when I use Smilebox. Their art work and music make wonderful ways to put together and keep memories alive. We used Smilebox when we had a party for my father in laws 100th birthday.Everyone got a copy to take home. Program glitched. When placing a photo is wouldn't stay in the place you put it. Very time consuming. I was charged for premium and they cancelled it and expected me to pay again. The customer service guy Kuldeep took an average of 3 days to respond and was not helpful at all. He kept trying to get my credit card info which I had already entered into the site when I first signed up. The program no longer offers the ability to make the slide show a dvd. The business phone number is disconnected and when I send inquiries on my help ticket. I only get an auto-reply with no human follow-up, at least not so far. I have paid for the Premium Smilebox on Jan. 2nd but have not gotten the software to operate. I have used it in the past, so am not sure what the problem could be. read more

Never, EVER use this company! Don't be duped like I was! I am SO not smiling when it comes to Smilebox. This company has a sneaky way of getting you involved through a "free" 7-day trial offer. If your event HAPPENS to be beyond the seven days (which mine was), you clearly cannot cancel the invitation. When you go over that trial period, Smilebox automatically charges an ANNUAL subscription of $47.88 to your credit card or PayPal account. (I should have NEVER given them that access in the first place.) They give you the impression that they will just charge you for a month...but they do not. I disputed the case. I received the same types of "customer service" responses that many Yelpers record for this business - slow, impersonal and deceptive. I struggle to give them even ONE star! I am not the complaining type, but this experience has been beyond horrible. You bet I'll let my networks know about this one! read more

Smile box makes a good product, and I really liked how my design came out. I would use them again.

This started off as a great experience. Creating my invite was easy and fun. But then, roadblock one. You can't send more than 20 invites on the free version. Since this was my wedding, I though, what the heck, I'll just pay the monthly subscription and then cancel after the wedding. Seems fair, right? Nope! After I think 2 weeks they charge you the annual fee and there are no refunds. On top of that, my invites got sent 4-5 times each, and guests can't RSVP with how many to expect. Super dissatisfied, so make your invites somewhere else! read more

Smilebox is not a reputable site. They trap you into a subscription and make it very very hard to get out of it. After many conversations with their customer service I keep getting very generic responses saying sorry but no refunds. I had cancelled my subscription and they still charged me. Customer service said "sorry if our pricing model appeared unclear" but we look at our terms and conditions we do not give refunds. Then not once but twice gave me the wrong links on how to cancel. This is a problem if their own employees don't even know how to cancel and then tell me sorry if it's confusing. Unfortunately I am out the money for something I will not use. I do not recommend using a company with such poor customer service that does not respect their customers. read more

SMILEBOX IS DELETING FILES WITHOUT NOTICE My good friend was paying $60 a year and had some magnificent greeting cards and albums that had been sent to friends and family. Suddenly they weren't there. She phoned Smilebox and was told that, yes, they had been deleted, and..too bad, so sad for you. Hi, I'm going to concur with all the other users of Smilebox. I also signed up for a free trial of the first month, and then was charged 47.88 or an approximate amount for the annual year. I specifically indicated on the tab box that I'm only interested in the free trial for the month. Lo, and behold! my credit card was charged the annual rate! what a shock! TERRIBLE!!!! I signed up for the 7 day trial. I know better than to give a credit card with assumption of "good faith". I cancelled within the time limit but they STILL CHARGED my card. I emailed customer service which is obviously outsourced and there is a communication issue. Takes DAYS to respond and then never assist. Cancelled my account, never got a refund, cannot use the service now nor log in, ALTHOUGH THEY HAVE MY MONEY! I didn't see the value of the service which is why I cancelled it in the first place. Received an email asking of my opinion of the customer service. I was honest and said it was terrible and unsatisfactory but NEVER heard from anyone. This only caused frustration! Smile box is great, but when comes in Printshop program GRRRRR, does not work together well. It only opens 98% and them closes, it seems like Printshop and smile box do not work together. And yet is it sold as one program. ???? But I do find it great for most of what I want to do. read more

I'm not big on sending greeting cards, so I only need a service like this to send a few cards a few times a year. The free card designs are great, and the ability to customize each one is fantastic. Also, the ability to send edited versions to different people is great. And, I appreciate that Smilebox remembers addresses for me. It's also handy to be able to print cards (for a fee) and to post them on social media, directly from the program. read more

Customer service is terrible. I'm a real estate agent that wanted to show case my property for sale. I have a 2 week window for marketing and I spent a lot of time and money on getting this property show case ready. I paid for the Smokebox fees and am unable to share my post. I can't do anything with the show I made that I paid for and that took me a few hours. Time is ticking. I have been waiting for 3 days to get a hold of someone. I'm trying to create a slideshow for Mother's Day, and I spent a lot of time yesterday trying to get this site to work. It wouldn't save my work, which was very frustrating. The system is designed to upsell you to their highest level. It is very glitchy and temperamental. You have much better and easier options that are actually free. I NEVER write reviews but I had a horrible experience with Smilebox. I signed up for their premium subscription to create save the dates and invitations for my wedding. We wanted to go digital since we might need to change the date of our wedding due to COVID-19. I tried to send out the save the dates to about 100 people via email: I uploaded a csv list and hit send, and the website said that the save the dates sent, but nobody received them. We ended up requesting and receiving a refund because their product wasn't working. Well, 2 days later the save the dates WERE sent out, after we had already chosen to use another online platform for invitations and already sent out other save the dates. this company seems like it might work well for smaller projects but I would NOT give them any of your money and only use the free version. read more

Fix your pictures first as you cannot in this program.... except rotate, red eye, etc. Get some sound if you need another song. I am happy with this product.
