The office staff is very good. The problem is the owners. Each of the two dentists I had seen left the practice and each time, the owners instructed all the staff to NOT tell patients they were leaving. I found out when I was sitting in the chair at my next appointment and was told I would be seeing a dentist I'd never met. After the second time, I switched to a different practice. I have had doctors and dentists retire or move and they or the practice always informed me. I found the secrecy to be very disrespectful. I should have been told so I could then decide which other dentist I wanted to see (like the one I had seen on other occasions when my regular dentist was on leave).

So I paid the out of pocket of $350 and did the cleaning. Two months later they said the insurance actually won't cover it and I owe another $550. Typically there is more transparency if you're taking a gamble with the insurance company and you may have to pay more. The insurance company denied the claim because there was no evidence of the cleaning needed....so why was it presented to me as critical? It's beyond frustrating to put your trust in a new medical professional and then feel like you're oversold for them to make a profit from either the insurance company or the patient individually.

However, the woman sent in to numb me thought that it was fine…read moreto hide a needle behind her back before telling me to open my mouth so she could numb me prior to even giving me numbing gel on my gumline, while I was about to get an entire top and bottom half of my mouth procedure done. I had to ask for numbing gel while she stabbed me in the back of my mouth. Then tried again towards the front of my mouth without numbing it with gel as well, where I had to actually push her hand away to make her stop. She replied I have a needle and my response was that no numbing gel was placed in that area of my mouth, knowing I am here for a scaling and my gums are tender, all while some root is exposed... I did recommend others here before I knew the horrors of the procedures pre-op. The actual dentist came in and still had to numb me again twice because it was not done correctly the first time. Then to find out it costs over 800 for a scaling that I have only paid $200 or a little more for across the bridge is insane. I also was not offered any payment options, and still wasn't even after they left voicemails on my phone stating that I could try that option after I did not return after December. Here it is March 27, and after me asking multiple times about people I referred to the office who had work done for 50.00$ off each referral, nobody but one person acknowledged it on my way out after I asked a 5th time, who happened to be the nice young lady from my first visit, who was a pleasure. I ended up getting 100.00$ off, but that still dictated me getting other parts of my procedure done as they tried to convince me to do. Meanwhile, the same spot that was stabbed at the back of my mouth repeatedly in my lower jaw is sore. If any other patient was treated in this manner, it is not normal to be this sore after a scaling. I will be seeking a second opinion.

I originally called the Old Town location but the receptionist on the phone told me they were booked pretty far out. She told me about the King Street location and was able to fit me into the schedule that same week! The office is so clean and pretty modern. I had to park on the street but finding parking was not an issue. I arrived to my appointment 15 minutes early and was in the chair right on time. My hygienist was so nice and caring, making sure I was okay and that nothing was hurting while she was scraping- I had just gotten my braces on not too long ago and my teeth were pretty sensitive. Dr. Pashmini came in after my cleaning, did an exam, and chatted with me about future procedures that I will be needing. She explained a few things in a way that no other dentist had and helped me make a choice for my teeth that will be best in the long run. I'm really glad I found this dental office.
