I've been to Dicey's countless of times. Love the pizza. They finally put the Hawaiian pizza permanently on the menu (TY!!!). Veggie supreme is amazing, too. And my all time favorite is the little gem salad with the roasted cauliflowers and kettle chips. I always order this. Skip the sandwiches, though. But yes, I do agree with other reviewers that service has gone down a LOT. And it's inconsistent. On separate occasions, I've been seated without a full party and I've been told that the full party needs to be present before we can get a table (when more than half the restaurant is empty). Some of the servers look like they don't want to be there. It's hard to flag them down if you need something (silverware, napkins, more water). read more

I stopped by Dicey's Pizza & Tavern during CMA Fest because I had an event just around the corner. I've enjoyed the food here before, so this visit was more about experiencing the atmosphere and service. The pizza was just as good as I remembered. It's one of the stronger options if you're looking for a Chicago-style tavern pizza in Nashville, and the quality of the food continues to be the restaurant's biggest strength. The atmosphere, however, wasn't quite for me. The restaurant fully embraces its Chicago identity, which is certainly part of its concept. Personally, I would have enjoyed seeing a few subtle nods to Nashville or the local community to help it feel more connected to the neighborhood rather than feeling as though it had been transplanted from another city unchanged. It seemed very tone deaf and if I could get the Chicago experience in Nashville why would I ever visit the Chicago location? The music was also much louder than I expected. It created more of a nightclub atmosphere than a neighborhood pizza tavern, making it difficult to carry on a conversation. Live music would have felt more fitting for the setting, especially during CMA Fest. The staff was friendly throughout the evening, but service was a little slower than expected. The restaurant didn't seem particularly busy at the time, yet the kitchen appeared to be running behind, so there was more waiting than I anticipated. Overall, Dicey's Pizza & Tavern still serves excellent pizza, and I'd happily return for the food. I just hope that over time the dining experience evolves to feel a bit more welcoming for those looking for a relaxed meal rather than a high-energy atmosphere. read more

Absolute craziness. So happy we found this place on our recent trip to Nashville. We popped in around 9pm on a Friday. There was a little bit of a wait, so we sat at the bar. The bartenders were super cool. I checked out the menu prior to visiting - there were like 8 things we wanted, the sign of a great menu. All the different fonts are sick too. We ordered the Giardiniera Dip which was truly mind blowing. So simple - presumably cream cheese and giardiniera, but so delicious. Spicy, tangy, creamy - all the things you want in a dip. For pizza, we had the Peppy Boy; really good - came out piping hot. Could've been spicier imo. Crispy, thin crust perfection. I wish I lived here so I could try the crazier options. 10/10 read more

You can only eat so much hot chicken. So why not go to a Chicago tavern in Nashville? The Chicago tavern-style pizza here is absolutely delicious. I'm usually a thick crust pizza guy but this almost cracker-thin crust with the excellent toppings is a flavor bomb. We went with the popular Peppy Boy which comes with pepperoni, hot honey, cheese, spices, and chili oil. We demolished it. It was outstanding. (It was also greasy but with pizza this good, they get a pass.) I was very tempted to getva shot of Malort (yes, they offer it) to round out the Chicago experience but I chickened out. We went on a Friday night 6:15, they said it'd be a 45 minutes wait and we only ended up 35. Our waitress was attentive without hovering. We love the inside, it's so casual and welcoming. We sat on covered patio, it was perfectly comfortable for January. We started with their house margaritas (wow!), did the garlic bread as an appetizer and the peppy boy for our main. We love the crispy crust, spice & sweet of the toppings, the square slices and how fresh it all is. Our friends got the salad that has chips and cauliflower as toppings. Dicey's has amazing tavern style pizza which I miss being from NJ! I will say we tried going there a few weeks ago on a Sunday, and they didn't have pizza that day, so I was admittedly a bit nervous going back that they wouldn't have pizza again, but luckily they did! We got there a bit on the earlier side to make sure we'd get a table, as I know this place can get packed for all the right reasons. They put up information in their website about where to park, as parking can be confusing if you don't read about the lots beforehand! The pizza itself is fantastic. Thin crust, true tavern style with amazing ingredients and toppings. The chicken alla vodka was so unique and delicious, especially as someone who loves vodka sauce. Went back because I love their pizza! As always, service and food were top notch. While not something they can directly control, finding nearby parking before 6 pm can be challenging. They do have relationships with some nearby lots, many (if not all) of the spots are reserved until 6 pm. There is significant construction in the area and their typical parking lot (across the street) is not available. Additional pro tip - don't go down the alley! No parking. They do have two spots out front and one is handicapped. So plan on a bit of walk until some time in 2026. So after 6, even on a Monday, it got busy. And a bit loud (unless one was at a picnic table) and challenging to have an intimate conversation. Otherwise, a great place to grab a beer and pizza, especially with a bunch of friends! read more

Man, this is the greatest spot for Midwestern nurse. Great Tavern style pizza. If you don't know what that means it's thin crust and cut in squares. Great ingredients and comes out cooked perfectly. They also have excellent subs and today I tried the wings and they were excellent. Great blue cheese dressing. Give it a try. 4.5 As the (a?) once and former king of Chicago, I am always on the lookout for Chicago-style pizza. What people have to get straight is that 'Chicago style' can mean one of several types of pizza. The knife and fork of deep dish is only one sort of style. It's not my go-to. During my years in Chicago, I was a thin-crust (square cut) man. Because people who don't live places always have an outsized-say, you may call this 'tavern-style.' When I heard that Dicey's was open in Nashville, I made it a point to drive to Wedgewood-Houston (not WeHo) on a Monday night in mid-summer to check it out. I called in the order so I was doing pick up. No one has time to eat-in when pizza is calling. It was raining lightly so I was glad to find a free and functioning parking lot* across the way. I walked in the place and was pleased to find a cool vibe with laid-back folks. I walked in, gave my name and order, paid, walked out, and raced home to see what was what. One of the first things I noticed was the size and weight of the pizza. I ordered a GF Peppy and sometimes the smaller GF crust can vary wildly with size. I am pleased to report that this pizza was a true 14". The smell and steam from the pizza as I lifted the lid was a thing of beauty. I didn't want to waste time with plates so I laid that thing on the floor, poured a glass of wine and dug in. Ridiculous. Very pleasing. Before hot honey was on everything, it was on the Peppy. As the same suggests, it's a pepperoni pizza with red sauce and mozzarella BUT ALSO hot honey, parmesan, oregano, and chili oil. Every square was a joy and I must admit that I took the whole thing down in one setting. It's not my fault: it's a proven fact that thin crust squares go down easier than other type of pizza wedges. And though it wasn't my fault, I regret nothing. It's been a minute but my Dicey's experience was the real deal. It is about 30 minutes after your order for pizza to come out. Parking is included for 2 hours at a near by structure. Dicey's has been on my Nashville pizza bucket list since it opened and it took me way too long to make it there. We started with the garlic bread which was decent. It was buttery with a generous dusting of Parmesan cheese and basil. It came with an oil-based dipping sauce which added a nice zing to each bite. For my entree, I ordered the veggie supreme pizza. I liked the crispy thin crust. Despite being so thin, it was sturdy enough to support the layer of cheese and vegetables. I didn't find the sauce that flavorful. The vegetables and cheese were on the blander side as well. This type of pizza is usually my go-to at pizza joints, but here it was average at best. Next time, I'll try one of the more adventurous pizzas. The service was not the best. However, the space is great and there is much more on the menu to explore, so I'm sure I'll be back to give it another chance. read more

Food: Average pizza. Crust is on the thin side and a bit too hard in our opinion. Tried the one topping sausage and they put it on there pretty good but it was just average. They have wines, beers, cocktails, a Nashville cider (which I tried and came in an over sized can). They only had one flavor of High Noon, so this could have been better. Service: Very good level, although they do make it easy on themselves with every table getting a pitcher of water. I don't mind this when you're thirsty and they put plenty of ice. Waitress did a very good job of bringing out extra napkins and multiple waves of alcoholic drinks. Also went above and beyond by bringing a sample of the spicy veggies out for us to try (they are very spicy, so we decided against the specialty #5). Ambiance: Inside seating is quiet but cold. Outside seating can get loud and they are running ceiling fans late at night when they don't need to. This made the pizza cold faster. Another issue we had was they advertise on Yelp they have sports outside where they have two TVs. When we asked why they were off for Thursday Night Football, we were told they don't have Prime. This was a major miss because we specifically came to watch the NFL game. Parking: Free lot is directly across the street and had plenty of parking on Thursday night around 8p. Tip: At night, take the extra time to walk across the railroad tracks to the giant guitar with "Nashville Music City". There are some great swings where you can enjoy this park with some cool painted box cars. read more

This is the first time I've been here. The pizza tasted really good. We got the "peppy." We added extra pepperonis and cheese. The sizes of the pizzas are 9 and 14 inches. I wish the large was bigger such as 16 or 18". The pizza is supposed to be Chicago tavern style. That means they cut the pizza in squares vs. Triangular slices. I also thought Chicago style meant deep dish but i was educated that tavern style is thin crust. The parking is horrible!! We parked across the street along with 20 others. We didn't know it was tow truck central. Thank God I moved our car right before the tow truck got there. The parking lots that the restaurant will validate are 2 blocks away that's why I thought the parking wasn't the best. I ended up parking in the lot of these closed businesses since it was after 6pm. Let me start by saying, the food is so good, and always has been. But over the last year, service has declined heavily. It takes forever to get a table (you walk in and people just stare at you, like you don't want to be sat) and when they finally do come over to seat you, they are miserable to do it. The music is always good, so whoever is on aux (especially during the afternoon), you're killing it. I love this restaurant, I just wish it felt like it used to. I don't want to rag on individual servers, especially given that construction, annoying parking problems, and other barriers have probably made working at Dicey's harder. But, despite the changes and complications, I still wish that getting a table didn't feel like pulling teeth. read more

I have had the Classic Pepperoni delivered to where we were staying twice. It is the best thin crust pizza I have ever had! The pepperoni has great flavor and is lightly singed and crispy.
