Bar area, notice copper cookware

We couldn't resist stopping in after a great meal at Locanda Verde. The space is small, not sure if it might be an old carriage house, but it is sooo charming!! Love the molded plaster, lighting and copper cookware hanging from the ceiling in the bar area. Service and music was amazing, we stayed for hours. This was truly a one of a kind bar experience!

A nice, cold Pilsner.

Every single thing about this place is perfection. Bianca was our bartender and she may be the best bartender I've ever encountered. Thanks for making our trip to NYC memorable and special.

Walked right by it the first time. It's small and unmarked. We turned back because we saw a couple sitting at a table in the doorway. Very cozy spot. Eights seats at the bar and a banquettes the two walls. We had been working our way down the east side of Manhattan, and I had this spot bookmarked to have a cocktail at. We didn't eat, but they serve food. In fact if you have your drink at the right end of the bar, you can watch the kitchen. The whole three by three foot space it is. The oysters he was preparing looked pretty good. Cocktails are $15-20. Sounds stupid- but a pit stop in the restroom is a must. The unisex restroom seems larger than the kitchen. And is like walking into an d cage elevator. At first glance you might over look the sink, it folds up flat into the wall. Another nice quiet place for conversation and a cocktail.

Why is this place so darn cute? Our car pulled up out front and I had no idea it was there. It's a tiny little carriage house and absolutely perfect because of it. Plenty of tables open at lunch on a Wednesday, even though there's only about 8 tables in total. The menu is fittingly small but there's a bit of something for everybody. Grabbed the harvest salad bowl with chicken and it was 10x better than I had even expected - perfectly chopped and flavorful. Paired this with a lovely glass of white wine. My colleague ordered the chicken sandwich and enjoyed that as well - I can confirm the chips that come as the side are nice and crunchy. Service was really wonderful. Very attentive and always there when you need them, but not overly aggressive or bothersome. Don't forget to check out the bathroom. The metalwork and glass is really charming. Will definitely be back soon and you should give it a try!

Terrible, terrible service. There was a bug in my friends drink and the server mocked us all night for asking for a replacement drink.

Didn't feel like it was associated with a hotel!…read more Stopped in after dinner for a quick drink and snack/dessert. Ordered a Cadillac Margarita (Casamigos) for me + Vodka Martini (Grey Goose) for my partner + thick Fries + Slice of Chocolate Cake Drinks weren't anything special but the fries were hreat and cake hit the spot. Actually, I'm so glad we stumbled in because their cute and short food menu is PERFECTION for lovers of small bites -- crab dumplings, caviar deviled eggs, spicy tuna crispy rice, shrimp cocktail, oysters, sardines, etc... Things I dream of all in one sexy, cozy place that whisks you far away from the streets of Manhattan. Our chairs were comfy, and there were many seating areas that looked equally as inviting. The bar was gorgeous, lighting was super moody. The room was daaark and not very busy on a Friday around 8-8:30 P.M which we appreciated. Our waitress was fabulous and so friendly, great with timing and checking in!

Checked in with the host at 6:30 PM, and eventually got seated at the bar 7:40 PM. I had a great experience at Chambers and can't wait to return to try more of their seasonal menu!…read moreThe restaurant has a lovely ambiance that feels upscale yet inviting and intimate. While I can't comment on the wine list personally, I know they are well-known for their extensive selection. After placing our order, we were delivered the sesame pizza bianca, which is a complimentary starter bread with dinner. The bread was a nice size and light and airy with a perfect crust and a delicious, crusty sesame seed bottom. The prawns were our starter and came three to a dish. They were sizable, though since they are served with the head and tail, there isn't a ton of meat on them. That said, they were flavorful and juicy with a nice sauce and just the right amount of spice that didn't overwhelm the fish. The snowdance chicken was the star of the show! It was incredibly juicy and tender with perfectly prepared skin, so I was happy to learn they keep this on the menu year-round. It was topped with some spinach that was solid, though nothing special. We also ordered a side of mushrooms which came with a creamy sauce and fish roe intended to be mixed at the table. The roe wasn't fishy at all but added a great element of umami to the flavorful, well-textured mushrooms. Overall, the service was very professional, though I thought the pacing could have been improved as the dishes came out a bit slowly. I would also recommend ordering at least two dishes per person, as the three plates we shared between two people felt like just a touch too little food. I'm already looking forward to going back--I'd try the winter chicories salad or the veal sweetbreads next time, but I'm open to exploring everything since the quality is so high. I noticed a side dish listed on their online menu that wasn't actually offered in person, so it might be worth double-checking if you have your heart set on a specific item.

We came in on a Friday evening and it was pretty quiet inside. After we were sat down upstairs, it took a long time for our waitress to come to take our order. We got the Butterscotch flip, Getaway driver, and Big trouble. These drinks were not it. Although the prices are okay($19 each), they definitely need some improvement. All three had very strong flavors that were not balanced with the rest of the drink. After we finished our drinks, we waited an especially long time for the waitress to come back, check on us, and give us our bill. It was especially frustrating because we were the only ones in the bar at this point and we could hear them chatting downstairs. Overall, both service and the drinks need improvement. Can't really recommend Split Eights over other cocktail bars around.

Our cocktails were delicious, music was on point, service didn't feel rushed at all. I was feeling adventurous and asked for a boozy gin-based cocktail.. loved it! My friend really enjoyed her drink as well. At $19 per cocktail, it's not the cheapest in the area, but also not the priciest either. Would absolutely recommend Split Eights to anyone looking for craft cocktails in the area.
