I'm not a huge moonshine guy but this place does have some tasty flavors. However my favorite thing is their rib eye marinade. You put this in a bag with your steak for 24 hours and mannnn! Wow, what a blast our visit to SC Moonshine was on a Thursday night. We were able to get in and join a lively group of folks, taste each of their flavors, and had such an entertaining bartender the was truly reminiscent of downtown Gatlinburg fun (iykyk)! We loved so many of them, but their new Watermelon is hands down the best - it's perfected balance of sweet and sour and while strong doesn't taste like alcohol at all. We really enjoyed the Strawberry Shortcake, Orange Cream, Coffee, Apple Pie, Butter Cake, and Salted Caramel. Surprisingly, I really loved the "Ass Kickin' Spicy Pickle Bloody Mary," but the "Habanero Bloody Mary from Hell" not so much, but can imagine habanero lovers would. Such and a neat shop to try some unique Moonshine! My fiancé and I specifically made plans to go to Opry Mills and visit the Smith Creek Moonshine on our trip to Tennessee because it was so much fun our first visit there. We went at a slow point during the day and were the only two at the tasting bar, but the guy pouring us samples was super informative and entertaining despite his small audience. Though he said the Salted Caramel was the most popular flavor, I liked the Buttercake a little more and my fiancé absolutely loved the Orange Crème. The Moonshine was sweeter than anticipated, but it was fun to try a lot of the 13 flavors. There were associates roaming the store to answer questions, make recommendations, and help you find what you're looking for without being pushy for sales. It was a super chill environment with so much to look at and a whole bunch of cool products to buy outside of the Moonshine itself. On our first visit a few years ago we'd purchased a couple of candles, and this time we left with a jar of their Pineapple Salsa. Though we have not yet tasted the Salsa, we can definitely recommend the candles for both their awesome smells and longevity. My friends and I came into town for a girls' trip. We came in for a moonshine tasting and were really excited. Dave was working the tasting bar and could not have been ruder. When we walked up he let us know he was tired and would not be using the mic. He then proceeded to be extremely rude. He told us to not waste his time and go to the wine tasting place nearby among other things. The ladies that had come in before us also complained, saying he was rude to them as well. They left without doing the tasting. We complained to the manager, who swapped Dave out with Sean, who was super nice and fun. Also have a chat with Papa Tim if you can. We were walking around the mall, enjoying some air conditioning on a hot, humid day in the Nashville area and came across this shop. Free tastings of various flavors of moonshine were offered. You had to get your id out and leave it in the bar throughout the tasting. It was ongoing, with people joining and leaving as their schedule allowed. We popped into Smith Creek to check out the moonshine. We had no idea we could do a tasting. But as soon as we found out, we were in! The guy leading our tasting was full of personality and energy. He really knew his stuff when it came to moonshine. And as it turns out, he was originally from Indiana! We got to try 13 (I think) flavors, including the Bloody Mary. Any time you don't want a flavor, you cover up your cup, and you get skipped. All the flavors were really good. Even the straight Moonshine and Vodka weren't harsh like I was expecting. We went to the bar waiting for someone to acknowledge us but nope, So we decided to come back later. We had a really good time here. It was crazy crowded and really warm in the store, but we enjoyed the experience. They offer a free tasting of all moonshine flavors. Tipping is encouraged, but not required. My fiancé came home with the straight moonshine and the bloody mary mix. I also purchased the bloody mary mix as well as the cinnamon flavored moonshine (10 times better than fireball). I got one of the pouring spout tops to go on my Mason jar, but the thing has done nothing except leak. I wasted a good bit of the alcohol on it spilling into my bag during transit. Definitely not worth the $6. I would also like to point out that the bloody mary mix they sell and really push for you to buy can also be purchased on Amazon much cheaper. I thought the mix was affiliated with the moonshine, but that is not the case. However, it is hands down THE BEST bloody mary mix I have ever tried. To start off, this place has FREE moonshine tasting- instant win! I was pleasantly surprised to find this place at the mall. They have about 13 flavors and you get to taste them all. We came at a good time as we were able to walk right up to the tasting table and join in. Once the tasting started, it was QUICK. Our server basically poured everyone their sample quickly around the table and then immediately moved on to the next one. As we learned later, this place can get extremely busy so they keep things moving since there is usually a line for the tasting. We had a few people come to try and join during the tasting and they were told they would miss the initial flavors we had already passed or had to wait for the next round- again, I don't think this tasting lasted more than 10 minutes. Pro: quick turn around. Con: hard to remember which flavors we liked and I had to skip one or two just to enjoy my current sample. We ended up taking advantage of the 4 moonshine flavors for $82. The guy pouring drinks was hilarious and such a hoot! We loved him. The moonshine was delicious. They have some flavors that bring the alcohol content down closer to 25% but they sure are tasty. I loved the butter cake and salty caramel. They'd go great in a coffee or mixed drink. Even on dessert. They said that they make the moonshine in house and it's only available locally. Damn! I first came here back in 2018 for the tasting. Surprisingly, no review from that time. I recently was in Nashville and had to stop at one of my favorite Simon malls. It was quite packed on New Years Day. When we peeked inside of this store, the line was a little too long for the tasting. So we walked around for a bit to kill some time. This was a really fun place and unique for being located in the Opryland Mills mall. It's pretty commercialized and busy but I didn't mind. My boyfriend and I stopped by one afternoon and participated in a tasting event. They do rounds of tastings throughout the day so you can hop in at any time.
