Dodging yet another storm that rolled through when our group was here, we posted up in Nelson's Green Brier for an hour or so. I haven't struggled so much like I have here to pick a craft cocktail. There are so many good ones on the menu that fit any type of pallet, that it took me so long to decide. I got a modified old fashioned and then there was a martini-like drink that I tried. Both really packed a punch, luckily we were walking to our next destination. In the store they seemed to have a flash-sale going on for one of the bourbons. It was normally around $75 or something and I got it for $45. I am sure that's not normal but it really made the selection even better, because the wall of whiskey/bourbon is also really tough to choose what you want!

I'm not much of a whiskey or bourbon drinker, but I still really enjoy coming here because they have creative cocktails that are delicious and approachable for everyone. I'm 30 years old and have used this license without issue for years. When I asked what specifically was wrong with the ID, nobody could provide an explanation. Instead, staff consulted a manager and simply told me they would not be serving me. Meanwhile, the other members of my group, all around the same age and carrying valid IDs, were able to order drinks without issue. As an Asian customer, I left this establishment believing I was racially profiled. I was singled out, denied service despite presenting valid identification, and never given a legitimate explanation for why my ID was supposedly unacceptable. Since the incident, I have found multiple reviews from other customers of color describing experiences that raised similar concerns about profiling and disparate treatment. The entire experience was humiliating, unprofessional, and unacceptable. There are plenty of businesses in Nashville that can verify IDs without treating customers this way.

We couldn't have been more wrong. Admission for two was a reasonable $50, and what we assumed would be a large group tour, ended up being an amazing near-private experience with our tour guide, Mitch. Mitch was absolutely incredible. He walked us over to the distilling room, where he explained how their bespoke process works, Corsair's distilling philosophy, and proudly showed off Ethyl, their 100+ year-old pot still. Once we got back to the tasting room, and after our first taste, we immediately regretted not trying Corsair years ago. Mitch did a great job explaining to us how each gin, whiskey, absinthe, rum, and rye are created. He also had an answer for all of our questions - feel free to ask away. Finally, we headed to their bar, where my wife had a drink called the "Easy, Breezy, Caprese," made with their American Gin, and I was able to roll a D-20 to let fate decide what drink I would try. I rolled a 4 and landed on a Bee's Knees, made with their Barreled Gin - a new favorite of ours. As mentioned, we should have tried Corsair's unique and delicious spirits sooner. We bought three bottles, and will look for theirs at home in the future. Finally, our top tip: When you book your tour, be sure to ask for Mitch. He loves what he does and truly shows he's passionate about it.

The pineapple flavor tasted and looked very artificial and I'm unsure if it was even prepared properly considering the glass it came in. It lacked the bubbles part of a mimosa. This distillery is stacked with barrels from floor to ceiling. Loved the yellow lighting and "barrel" decor of the space. It really transports you from the Broadway nuttiness to a place of chill, relaxing vibes. Not to mention they have an awesome old skool playlist that kept us vibing throughout our visit. The bourbon itself was great - my standout was the Team Buckeye AM bourbon barrel pick with warm caramel and brown sugar notes, but I also was pleasantly surprised by the 8 year Rum which I had to proof down to get the nuance but has great flavor levels top to bottom.
