Came for a yelp! tasting and tour event after walking by this place a million times Im glad I finally was able to experience the place. We started out on the second floor, which overlooks the giant copper still and tasting room and had a cocktail made with bourbon from their collection. Next, we headed downstairs to the tasting room where we were guided through a tasting of bourbon small batch, bourbon, blood orange vodka, and spiced rum. Super friendly staff and knowledgeable about their products. Big machine is known in the music in car racing industry more than they are for their distillery, but maybe that will change!

This was one of the coolest experiences we have done while traveling. We got a great education on bourbon, got to identify our likes and dislikes, and then got to do several blends to ultimately make a blend of exactly what we each liked best to take home. We were so happy that we bought an extra bottle. Our Taste Guide, Jim, was so very knowledgeable and patient, with lots of great stories. We hated to leave and cannot wait to get back. Shout out to Penny the support pup for continuing to check on us during our time in the tasting room. The bartender, a Nashville born unicorn started our visit off right. The vibe was perfectly laid back and exactly the start we needed for our Nashville weekend. I am so thrilled with this experience and will definitely be back to either buy more of our blend, blend more or just to say hi. What a great place!

This was our favorite stop during our Nashville weekend! We are in our late 40s, so kind of over the Broadway scene. It was the perfect spot to have a few drinks and be able to hear each other (also, great people watching outside their windows). Great vodka drinks, excellent old-fashioned with a bunch of options for whiskey. The flight was pretty cool too. I'm not a fan of whiskey, but my husband is and he really enjoyed it. Just wish they had food or something to munch on. That was my only "complaint." The music was great and at the right volume. We actually came back twice in one day - once in the afternoon and once when we came back out at night because we liked it so much. Highly recommend, if you're looking for a quieter spot just off Broadway.

The bar area is a wonderful retreat from the chaos and noise of the downtown strip.

We joined the Big Machine Brewery & Distillery for their "Blend Your Own Bourbon" class. As a surprise for my husband's birthday, I knew immediately that I'd chosen the right place when we walked off the busy Downtown Nashville street and what felt like back in time!! The ambiance of the place was amazing: cool, classy, and exactly what I was hoping for. The music was even perfect--not blow your ears out country, but soulful. Gruff. Low key. Like my husband. It went well with his glass of bourbon, he said, which he enjoyed while we waited for the class to begin. The class was led by a very knowledgeable, capable, friendly guy named Jim, who immediately came to our table upon hearing this was a surprise for my husband. Jim not only led the class in an exceptional experience, but thanks to his expert guidance, we walked out with not one, but TWO bottles of amazingly different flavored bourbons! My husband has already asked if we can do this for his birthday every year, lol. Whether you're visiting Nashville from out of town or are just coming for a night on the town, I cannot recommend the "Blend Your Own Bourbon" class--and Jim, our fantastic guide--enough. We will MOST DEFINITELY be back!! I may even have to surprise my husband and do this again for Christmas, hehe.

We stopped in here to take a break from the loud music. Surprised to see they offered a whiskey flight to sample their own whiskey. They make their whiskey from locally sourced grains so not just some sourced whiskey with a new label. I wasn't real found if the whiskey but it definitely had a unique taste that you may love. They had a few limited addition bottles available to taste for $100 a pour and a special edition for $20 a pour that is $500 a bottle. Great acoustic guitar player at just the right volume.

The vibes were AMAZING! They had live music playing and the decorations were top tier. Our sever was very attentive and we did not have to wait for drinks or our food long. We all choose the bottomless/build your own mimosas and we were able to mix and match so many combinations and they were all bomb. I had the breakfast bowl and the flavors were app good together

Big machine brewery and distillery has become one of my favorite spots when in Nashville. It is located right off of Broadway has great unique cocktails and drinks, and always has live music. You can walk their entire facility in which they make their own delicious spirits. I absolutely love the fun frozen drink options they have as it sets them apart from most spots in Nashville. They have some typical bar food menu options as well. Their frozen vodka lemonade is delicious and they can add any flavor you want to it (strawberry, watermelon, etc.). This time we tried the cookies n cream bushwacker which was delicious a straight up milkshake infused with alcohol. The staff here are so personable and friendly which makers this bar one of my absolute favorite places to stop.

Fletcher was a great tour guide!! Fun energy and awesome information. The sampler was a great way to try the different kinds of liquor. It was fun to tour the distillery and learn how the liquor was made. The tour was inexpensive and hanging out at the bar listening to the music after was a great way to just chill inside.

Cool place - smaller than I assumed with a friendly bartender. We tried a couple of their Xmas seasonal drinks and they were pretty good. We missed out on doing a tasting and tour, so we'll come back at some point. The only downside for me personally was upstairs was super hot. Yes, it was December, but there's tons of people around and it's only 58 outside - heater was blazing.

AWESOME service from the bartender upstairs (the woman running the tour/tastings AND the woman at the bar; wish I got their names). They were so sweet. Conversations were great and the frozen lemonade was so yummy!

Upon approach, the property itself is visible from the highway and was impressive, almost to the point of breathtaking. Justing seeing this was simple reminder on why doing this tour was a must for me. The welcome center was just that, welcoming! It was clean, modern and displayed history of Nearest Green's lineage, facts about the art of distilling, along with display cases filled with tools from the original distillery/farm. There was also a display case for their world-renowned Uncle Nearest Tennessee Whiskey. All the staff I encountered were kind and welcoming. The tour guide for my tour was Terrell Johnson and he was phenomenal! It was obvious from the beginning, that he thoroughly enjoys his job; he was funny, personable, and very knowledgeable. He shared that he's been at the distillery for the past 5 years and has received lots of recognition for outstanding work as a tour guide. The entire property exceeds 450 acres which is massive. That said, the tour only covered a small portion of the property. We did see one of the barrel houses which actually contained barrels of whiskey that were in the aging process. We were also able to see the onsite bottling area which was in operation at the time. Because it was staffed and operational, pictures and video were not allowed. Towards the end of the tour we did a tasting which was included with the tour. During this time, we also got to label our own bottle of Uncle Nearest 1856 to take home with us. Terrell encouraged us to do something unique with the label to ensure it stood out from the bottles that can be purchased at most liquor stores. After completing the tasting, we went back to the welcome enter which and the opportunity to peruse the store which contained numerous Uncle Nearest branded merchandise as well as numerous bottles of the various types of Uncle Nearest whiskey. The unique part about this is they have a few that can only be purchased there which was a nice treat. Lastly, their bar, Humble Baron, is located at the rear of the welcome center space. Unfortunately, I went on a Thursday afternoon and the bar is only open on the weekend. Needless to say, I will make a return visit just experience a pour or two in their bar. Overall, I am pleased with the tour experience and would participate again. was a good experience. As someone who has been supportive of the brand and the Nearest Green story, I hope they quickly resolve their current issues so the focus can return the Nearest Green story and his legacy can continue to live and grow.

Dodging yet another storm that rolled through when our group was here, we posted up in Nelson's Green Brier for an hour or so. I haven't struggled so much like I have here to pick a craft cocktail. There are so many good ones on the menu that fit any type of pallet, that it took me so long to decide. I got a modified old fashioned and then there was a martini-like drink that I tried. Both really packed a punch, luckily we were walking to our next destination. In the store they seemed to have a flash-sale going on for one of the bourbons. It was normally around $75 or something and I got it for $45. I am sure that's not normal but it really made the selection even better, because the wall of whiskey/bourbon is also really tough to choose what you want!
