The place was definitely interesting, after we got there I watched a guy walk out of the restroom and use a sink that was in the lobby instead of being in the restroom itself? The workers were all nice when we were there. The foot itself was eh, the chicken itself was cooked great but the breading was meh. My boyfriend wasn't a big fan of his food either. I have limited experience with this restaurant but I wanted to give it a review based off of the great customer service I experienced. Was at a hotel down the road and saw that they offered Brunswick Stew, so decided to quickly stop for some to take back to VA. Girl working the front taking orders was super attentive, friendly and knowing that I have never been asked if I liked vinegar and gave me a few vinegar based BBQ sauces to also take home and try with French fries. The food is pretty mediocre I must say. But that's any/every Smithfield Chicken in my opinion. Beyond that the customer service is immaculate. One of the managers always speaks to me when I come in, no matter what or how busy he is. I wouldn't mind working for a guy like that one bit. Always very positive. Rest of the staff as well. Absolute best food tonight -- everything was perfectly cooked! My husband's and my orders were perfect and delicious!

I usually have a good experience, but tonight was probably my last visit. 1. Placed an order through the drive through. They missed the first item I requested ..... had to add it at the window. 2. Person at the window struggled with English. 3. Was given a drink with a hole in the bottom of the cup, filled my center console drink holder with 20 oz of sweet tea before it was realize. 4. For fast food- polite and clean people. Good chicken. Good barbecue. We always go here if forced to fast food because we know they maintain great quality across their franchise. My only complaint - GOBS of fries with every order. They are GOOD fries, but you can sink a battleship with all those fries. Please Smithfield's - provide an alternative to fries. We are throwing these out because we eat a human amount, but then the rest get cold and congealed - yuck! This is the BEST BBQ IN TOWN. I went in there very hungry and left in a food coma. The portions are more than ample. The hush puppies were divine and plentiful. They were so good we couldn't leave them behind. They became POCKET PUPPIES. The service was impeccable and very attentive. The atmosphere was casual but clean. 1000/10 would recommend. This store left off the BBQ Pint in a drive thru order. We were traveling and I explained that it would take me an hour to come back in person as we were already 30minutes away. We paid with a credit card. They refused to refund the amount back to the credit card as it is "store policy" you must be in person. This is ridiculous. We had dinner here on Sunday, November 21, 2021 and it was delicious! Our Country-Fried Steaks were tender and the gravy was luscious. My husband had mustard greens and I had corn, with mashed potatoes and gravy for both of us. The potatoes were fresh and fluffy, my corn tender and buttery. Their special biscuits were fresh, hot and flaky. Our waitress, Billie, was very friendly and kind, and we enjoyed chatting with her. (Thanks, Billie!) The gift shop was beautifully decorated for Christmas, with so many intriguing gift items that I was sorry it was so close to closing time. We picked up some retro candies and a tub of luscious divinity. Definitely planning to return for some Christmas shopping! There was a tempting display of gorgeous ornaments and other decor. We had a lovely dinner, great customer service and the down-home cooking and ambiance are well worth your time for a family dinner, date night or evening with your holiday guests. read more

Between Smithfield's and my free delivery triall with Door Dash, my Covid-induced hermit life is a little easier to deal with. I don't usually wait more than an hour and the food is always good. I still rank Dallas Famous Chicken & Biscuits as my favorite chicken joint, but they won't deliver to me in Willow Spring. No brainer, Smithfield's wins. When I called the gentleman on the telephone to ask if they delivered (before I hooked up with Door Dash) and he was short-tempered with me. He could've been very busy, but seemed confused and couldn't remember the name of their delivery service. Suddenly he yelled out "We do Door Dash!" and hung up. They lose a star because he couldn't handle that simple business. I really do enjoy their food, but I tend to stick to the friend chicken. Yes, their shredded meat is very good, but the times I ate it, it was dry. Also, I'm not a fan of their sauces, as they just seem unimpressive. Potato salad and other extras are okay. It's a chicken show for me, but I also don't really like that they lean hard on the hushpuppies and don't lean at all on biscuits or rolls. Those go so perfectly with chicken, and not having a tasty bread to go with that tasty fowl is a missed opportunity in my opinion. I'm also a fan of their chocolate cake. Which comes with ice cream that never arrives melted. OMG...I have lived in the Raleigh area for almost 5 years, and I am just NOW trying Smithfield's Chicken & BBQ?!?! I have been missing out!!! My boyfriend and I had lunch here this past week and I was blown away by the homey decor, the cleanliness, the friendly staff and the food! We both ordered the pulled pork sandwiches with slaw. I had a side of hush puppies and a 1/2 pint of the Brunswick stew, and my boyfriend had the fries. We both had teas. The staff will bring your food out to your table. For some reason, my sandwich didn't have slaw on it, even though I ordered it. The waitress was super nice and she immediately went to the kitchen and grabbed me a small container of slaw. She also refilled our teas and went around to the other tables to make sure everyone was good. The pulled pork literally melts in your mouth. The combo of the pork with the sweet slaw and that vinegar sauce is beyond reproach. This sandwich is absolutely fantastic. The Brunswick stew is the best I've ever had, and the hush puppies are delicious. Next time I'm definitely going to try the chicken. read more

Stop by after Christmas shopping place my order my number was 89 they call 87 I said alright I'm next. then they call 90, 91, 92 93 so I got up and told the lady that I was still waiting my number was 89. She said ok, then they call 94 to 101. I was so disappointed I ask for a refund. So they gave me a refund they didn"t say they were sorry about my order in fact she acted very mad and rude when I got my refund. Lived in the area for two years and not sure why I have never tried Smithfield's..but I should of. Excellent chicken tenders, very fresh, moist and of course, tender. You absolutely get your money's worth. Even though there is only 3 , their very large. Bought a gallon of the unsweet tea, which was good. Smithfield's earns 5 stars because they consistently exceed my expectations. Fast, affordable, DELICIOUS food. Their barbecue is fantastic and very on-par with the rest of NC's barbecue scene. Their potato salad is my favorite - I've been known to go through the drive through and just get a pint of it to eat for dinner. Another favorite is their barbecue chicken. The sauce is out of this world! You can always ask for a side of barbecue sauce even if you don't get the chicken to dip your hush puppies in And don't forget the sweet tea and crushed ice! Growing up in NC, I love the vinegar based barbecue and one of my favorite places to get them are at Smithfield's Chicken and Barbecue, often called SCNB as per their new logo. This North Carolina based restaurant chain knows how to make BBQ and fried chicken! One of my favorite things to get is their BBQ sandwich with slaw, topped off with hot sauce and a few extra drops of fresh vinegar. My ultimate favorite there is definitely their fried chicken! Perfectly seasoned and fried to perfection. Every bite includes a juicy, flavorful, crunchy yet juicy taste of chicken heaven. If you dine in, they will bring the food right to your table, offer you refills, and bring anything you need like plates, silverware, sauce, etc. A few times they even brought my little kiddos some complementary cookies/crackers. I try to stop by and enjoy SCNB whenever I am close to one. If you haven't tried SCNB yet, give them a try. read more

We are from Eastern NC and love bbq with a vinegar sauce. At Smithfield's the vinegar sauce is delicious but I can almost drink the red sauce it's so tasty. This Garner Smithfield's prompted me to write this review because the manager today was exceptionally friendly and attentive to all customers. Great ! My first time here and I'm impressed. I tried the shrimp and bbq plate and it was exceptionally delicious. The shrimp was fresh fried, bbq moist, and sauces were great. They have that awesome pellet ice and fresh brewed iced tea. The service was great - better than most places I've been recently. When you are on your way to the beach ( or the way back), then what is better than some Eastern North Carolina style BBQ? Nothing! Every time I'm back in good ole NC, I have to stop at Smithfield's. They have fantastic BBQ as well as slaw, potato salad, hushpuppies, and banana puddin' (if you have room for it). Smithfield's is very consistent from location to location, and I have never had a bad meal from there. The service is also excellent. We needed to warm up a bottle for our daughter, and they brought us some hot water to put the bottle in. We didn't even ask. They just read our minds! Bottom Line: If you're still eating your BBQ covered in a nasty tomato-based sauce, then discover a new level of flavor and get yourself down to Smithfield's!
