Bottom line: we need a Smithfield's Chicken 'N Bar-b-q in Raleigh proper. Why is this level of goodness tucked away in the outskirts? Seriously--remember in Friday After Next when they said the food was so good it'll make you slap your mama? Yeah... this is that spot. The chicken tenders actually have that real-deal Southern flavor--crispy, juicy, and seasoned right. Then you've got the Carolina BBQ sauce, the hush puppies (don't skip these), and just overall comfort food done the way it should be. On top of that, the customer service is exactly what you want--friendly, welcoming, and genuinely Southern. This small local chain is a hidden gem, and honestly, it's worth the drive every time.
