Talking about my most groceries where I shop, "Smith's food and drug stores" are the ones! because they almost have better prices than any other competitive grocers. I've been to different other locations throughout the last year and I came up to the thought that this location on Green Valley in Henderson has more friendly staff with nice customer services and the store inside is very clean. I see that the employees are happy with their jobs and they really care about the customers shopping there. The produce products the store carries are always fresh too. This was my first time coming to this Smith's in particular tonight. I was grocery shopping, and the Cashier, Barbara( Who is black as well) was very rude and disrespectful towards me. Basically, A friend of mine went to the store with me, and when I was done grocery shopping, she was the person that I went to to ring me up. When I get there, I tell her that I just had one 24 pack of water(cause it was under my cart) and shockingly, she asks me to lift it! (I usually go to the Smith's by my house, and they usually don't ask me to do that)So as I was lifting, I was just conversating with my guy friend, and told him, "yeah I don't like this Smith's. "Just keeping it real, cause it's not the one that I'm used to, etc. and so she ease drops into my convo with him and says," OH, YOU DON'T LIKE THIS SMITH'S??" I didn't exactly reply, I just kept talking to my guy friend or whatever while she was ringing the rest of my groceries up. But then she gets smart and says," Well, I like this Smith's.." Again, I didn't say anything. But she was basically being rude. Like, ma'am, no one asked for your opinion. Just do your job. If I don't like shopping here, and I say that. Respect it! Then, when she gets done ringing my groceries up. She says, Do you have a rewards card?.. I told her I didn't, and she stands there for a moment, trying to think if she should give me a coupon discount or not, and she does. When I was swiping my card to pay, she obviously got offended cause I didn't say thank you(for giving me a small discount like really) so she looks over at my guy friend and says," ARE YOU WITH HER?" And he goes," Yeah I'm just giving her a ride." So she goes," Oh so you're giving her a ride, and she's the one that's standing at the end, but YOU say thank you?.." And she keeps going on, trying to get me to react. After her giving me attitude, as well as him, I definitely wasn't going to say thank you to this woman for ANYTHING. Like honey, this is your job. I work in customer service to, and you're going to have customers that will say thank you, and who won't. That's life. She obviously took it personal, and decided to make a big deal out of it. She needs to grow up. She honestly should have not said anything at all. But I know this for a fact, and that is that I will definitely NOT be shopping here again. read more

The worst Possible Place to work! NO COMPASSION for Overworked employees! They pay less because they say that they say that they have health insurance but I know a co-employee that has been there for 8 months with NO HEALTH Benefits and they pay less than Las Vegas Minimum Pay! This is a nicely remodeled Smith's. You can find anything here. They really redid the deli very nicely with lots of prepared foods. The soups are good. There are also wine tastings. The cheese island, however, is never staffed. The aisles are also very thin and hard to get around. Parking is also hard and the lot is very scary to drive and walk around, because no one can stop in there, lol. read more

Their sales are usually great, but since I started shopping there three weeks ago I've had nothing but issues when using the self checkout. First my money was getting stuck inside their machine, then the other day it kept saying that my card was being processed. I love self checkouts, but what good are they if they don't work? read more

The Sushi here is awesome. Fresh and colorful. I was tired of the purple tuna you get at the all you can eat restaurants. If you want quick sashimi, nigiri , or some great rolls I suggest you pick up a pack here. read more

This is a great Smith's compared to the not-so-good version on Eastern at Horizon Ridge. The floor layout here is better, less claustrophobic, and cleaner. This store has better wine and beer selection. read more

Husband made a purchase while I waited and asked the older lady in the casino portion where Starbucks was located, she offered me a cup of coffee, that I gladly accepted and it meant alot that she was just so kind and gracious. read more

I didnt care for Britney's customer service. The first time I've ever worked with her. I always pay my bills/ grocery shop here and get my money orders at this location for the past 6 months. She scanned someone else's Club card instead of giving me the option to do my own when I asked she says "I already sacnned one" but i like to use my own I replied and she said it doesn't matter you don't get points for it anyway get points for it anyway. I asked for a money order for a certain amount and she gave it to me for something else and when I corrected her... she looked at me like I was crazy. She gave me some other kind of receipts that I'm not used to... I'm pretty much a scheduled person I pay all my bills at the same place on the same day of the month. I like everything uniform in she just had attitude, no conversational skills, I asked question and all she did was look a me as if I was stupid. Sucks because now it looks like I'll be going to the Smith's on Valle Verde just to avoid her attitude. And I live right down the street at the district ugh.. read more

This is my local Smiths and until recently had been I did 90% of my grocery shopping but lately its more like 30% due to items they are no longer stocking. 1. Dannon Okios vanilla 4-pack greek yogurt. I now go to my local Vons as they always have it in stock. Sometimes I can find it at our Smith stores but it is not consistent - Von is. My husband liked to drink Kroger brand diet grape soda. None of the local Smiths stock it, although they still carry regular grape soda. My husband switched to diet black cherry soda and now they are no longer stocking that. Time is money and I will be changing to Vons or some other grocery chain to avoid frustration and grocery shopping at multiple stores just to stock up for the week. read more

As a FLorida transplant, I would compare Smith's to Publix Supermarkets. They are above average quality and maintain clean supermarkets. The staff are always pleasant and polite. The three-star rating for this store stems mainly from the lack of selection (with certain products like yogurt) compared to the nearby Smith's on Sunset. read more

I have been shopping in this particular location since I have moved to Henderson, NV. I have NEVER been so humiliated until today. The customer service manager named Lynne B. was RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. I am disappointed to see a good company raised such a disgraceful employee. Love my local Smiths! It's an older store but they keep it squeaky clean and the employees are all super friendly!

The deli provided the worst service. We decided to go to another grocer. They seems uninterested in helping us this was the second time.

I love Smith's and shop at this particular store all the time. I love that I can buy my food here and go across the parking lot and use my points to buy gas. I actually live on the other side of Henderson and will drive past several other grocery stores to shop here. I am amazed at how much worse this Smith's is compared to the Valle Verde location. They have less products, especially in the natural foods section. They also have less nutritional bars, like Clif. I couldn't find the natural lunch meats section or kombucha. I understand the proximity to Whole Foods and Sprouts, but it's like they don't even try at this store. And I'm not a Sprouts fan...if you like quality, healthy food, go to Smith's in Valle Verde or Natural Grocers. But not this Smith's! read more

In the past I would browse the book display and cosmetic/toiletries section which has a very good selection for a supermarket at the same time grabbing a few other items like coffee, milk and beer...just some basics. I would always find some great hair products to buy. Then all of a sudden every time I was choosing products a store person would stand at the end of the aisle that I was in and not say anything...just stand at the end looking at me???? Has anyone else ever had this experience at this location? Many times I purchased over $200.00 worth cosmetics and beauty products when I was replacing old outdated items I had at home. Another time I asked a male employee that oversees the self-check out area for a "shopper card". He quickly and curtly corrected me since I did not call it by it's proper name of "SMITH'S REWARDS CARD" or something... Oh well excuse me! So he gets me the card and says something like "he can't hear"??? Well he just heard everything I said and responded??? Some people just aren't meant to be in customer service. I don't reccomend coming to this store if u ever need a refund! I had a few (3) coffees that I needed to return but I did not have a reciept although I bought it there. I called this store and customer service said "No problem! Bring them in and we will issue store credit." I go to the store and waited about 15 minutes to be helped. The rep Tammy was horrid and had a huge attitude. She treated me like a criminal and said no one told me I could get store credit. So not only did Tammy call me a liar, she said that 2 out of the 3 coffees were not sold at their store. The dunkin donut coffee she gave me a gift card for was $11.99. I bought it for $25.99! She didn't give me a reciept with my balance either. I wanted to see why the 2 coffees were no longer in stock so I went in the isle and found the 2 other coffees in stock along with the dunkin donut coffee i purchased for $25.99. I got a manager involved and she was very helpful and wanted to make it right. She advised Tammy to add my difference to my store credit and I informed Tammy the other coffees were in stock. She grunted and continued to be rude, and didn't take back the other 2 coffees still! When the difference was added for the dunkin donuts, I had to sign my reciept. I asked for a copy of my reciept with my balance and she refused. I told her off and said she's too much. First, disrespectful the way through my transaction, secondly gave me a refund for the wrong amount and lied about the stock of the 2 coffees, and finally wouldn't give me a reciept? I told Tammy I'm taking the reciept as my copy and congratulations on her yelp review so that people can see how horrible her customer service is. I'm not going to be treated like a criminal when I'm not! Krogers website says they will HAPPILY take back FOOD items with or without a reciept for a refund. I went to another store and they happily issued me another store credit. Smiths on green valley and 215 need to know who is working for them and deal with Tammy promptly. The staff are always amazing, friendly and helpful. The selection is great. The store is always clean. I really like the guy who does the sushi samples, he always makes my day :D HOWEVER I'm deeply disappointed abut the produce. I cut open an apple and left it on the counter for the day. In this situation, don't apples turn brown? My apple didn't. I can only assume that its been genetically modified. Now , I understand totally why this might be preferred by some, but personally - I'm opting to be GMO free. I don't trust the food that's been modified, I don't trust the companies that do this, and I want to know what I'm eating. I wish that Smiths would be a leader in this issue, not wait for a political push and label GMO foods, or demand that the companies that supply them label them. I don't believe that food that is natural should have to be labeled. Its food. Please consider letting your customers know what they are consuming. STAY AWAY, Dropped Rx for refill with remaining refills - lady mumbles something about Walgreens and walks off - I call her back and ask if there is a problem - No, come back later - Later I get a text that the Rx is ready - I walk over - the same vampire is closing the metal bars to go to lunch - tells me to come back - I come back next day - You will have to call your doctor - Huh? WTF there were still refills - what is the problem - I dunno I guess I'll call them - a week goes by no text - I call Smiths, what is going on? This is the worst Smiths I have ever been to. Horrible customer service from the employees. I visited on Thanksgiving to get some items and asked where the French's fried onions were , I was directed to three different places , none were right , I finally asked the young man who was on the microphone standing by the self checkout where the French's fried onions were and he responds by barking "were out" does not even look up at me. I have visited a few times more but got tired of the rude staff so I now shop at Vons! read more

If you absolutely MUST go to this smiths, I suggest you avoid at all cost having Sheryl (or however you spell it) as a cashier. The girl bagging our groceries was so embarrassed when this women made a huge scene about following what the ad said. It clearly stated that what we were purchasing would be a dollar, but because there was not a sign over it in the isle we got it she refused to give it to us. Remodeled? In April? Not really. They JUST remodeled as of November 3, 2007, and I am not sure that it is an improvement. Yes, the aisles are wider, but that means there are less choices (like cat food) in the now shorter aisles. There is also something unnerving about changing a grocery store that you have been shopping in for four years. Almost every single aisle is different. It might take me a couple of weeks to find things. The bread, rather than being convenient, is now hidden in a side aisle. Where the bread was is now a wall of wine, cheap wine fronted by some unpleasant looking prepared foods. I know prepared foods are the future of grocery stores, but they simply can't do them well. When I go to a grocery I want produce and canned goods. If I want prepared food I go to a restaurant or specialty store. I like their produce, but do not like the new layout. I guess I will be shopping at Von's more. read more

This is the worst grocery store I've been to as far as service. I make a point to avoid this smiths at all costs. Every time I visit I've had some type of issue. I've come home twice now with missing items. I went to the guest services to get a money order and with one other person in front of me it took almost 30 minutes because the lady at the counter was inefficient and slow. Another occasion I went to return the carpet cleaner stood there for 15 minutes as store clerks walked past and said nothing. Finally had someone show up where there should be someone at all times. Then he could not find my order from the day before until the lady went through it with me and I showed her which order receipt was mine. The girls could not read the handwriting from the previous day. They are inconsistent with their smiths card services, and have come home twice now with missing items or bags. The quality of employees simply lack a sense of customer service and business 101. Checking out at smiths has been a hassling experience too many times. Just shopped at you Green Valley location (eastern and horizon ridge) and I am sorely disappointed. I have been a loyal customer for 12+ years and I have to say your recent changes leave me boggled. I loved the store until.... the deli. The deli slicers look horrible, there was enough left over scraps to feed a village - if they liked dried meats & cheese! I'm not paying up to $10 a pound for someone else order to be added in with mine - yuck. Terrible meat department! Hamburger meat is mixed with old and fresh and smells rotten. But you don't know this looking at it because they take the fresh meat, layer on top through the plastic making you believe it's all fresh. I know this because when I called the store after we got home to cook the meat, the person told me that is how they package their meat to save money, only to pass it on to the shopper but charge them fresh meat prices.
