I love Trader Joe's. This one is close to my work, so I stopped for some groceries on the way home. One thing I don't like about this location is the parking lot. It shares with a bunch of places and is always busy. I also think the way the carts are set up is a little awkward without a good way to put it back without blocking the road. I went on a Monday at about 5:00, and it wasn't busy at all. They were out of a few of the items I was looking for but had mostly everything I needed. I love the layout of this store. I've been going to this location for several years now and I really like it. I usually go the same day every week so the regular employees are kind of familiar. The parking situation is ok, but getting in and out of the lot can be tricky. Everything is usually pretty well stocked, but of course produce can run a little low at the end of the day. They have a little bit of everything of the basics you'll need to make some simple delicious meals. Store is well stocked and clean. Restrooms are also clean. Lines move pretty quick and all cashiers and eager to help and will call you over if they see you waiting and they are available to help. They are usually friendly and will ask you a few small talk questions, which I like. They are also really good and packing your bags! read more

What's not to love about Trader Joe's? If you can answer that, I'm not sure I want to hear about it. Keep your negativity to yourself, Oscar! All kidding aside, TJ's is a great grocery store that will make you feel better about preparing food-at least it does for me. I don't enjoy cooking, especially preparing to cook, but when I shop here I get excited to see what artistry I can create with the unique and quality ingredients I find. The customer service can't be beat. They will go out of their way to make sure you're happy with the product-with a 100% money back guarantee. They back up what they sell. Today's cashier, Jon, asked us to come back after we tried a certain product and let him personally know how we liked it. I like that he genuinely cares about our satisfaction. My only complaint (see, I can complain too) is how crowded it gets. Sure, I popped in at prime time on a Sunday-my fault. But the word's getting out that this place is swell. Trader Joe's has some of the best food and produce around at fair prices. It can be difficult to find dairy free foods including bread because what's available nearer to us has butter and milk in the ingredients so it's so good being able to shop at Trader Joe's and know we can find pantry staples that won't set off allergies and that we don't have to make everything at home from scratch. The Trader Joe's Sprouted Wheat Multigrain Bread is so good! It's got a nice chew from the sprouted wheat, millet, flax, oats, and rye, and it toasts really nicely and makes an excellent breakfast or dinner topped with Trader Joe's vegan cream cheese and some jam. This bread freezes well so when we make a grocery run we like to get two loaves of this bread because we eat one the first week and freeze one for the second week and just take out the slices we need and pop them in the toaster. I would recommend putting the bread in a reusable freezer safe bag before freezing it since the bread bad isn't airtight. We've tried other vegan cream cheese and were disappointed how salty it was so we were super stoked when one of the friendly and knowledgeable Trader Joe's team members overheard us going over our grocery list as we were shopping and she went out of her way to recommend the Trader Joe's brand vegan cream cheese! That's the kind of friendly customer service that keeps us coming back again and again to Trader Joe's. The produce always looks good here! They always get us with the fresh fruit by the entrance -- last time it was cherries, this time strawberries. Their avocados are great too. If you haven't yet and you like plants, also make sure to check out the little alcove on the right hand side of the store when you first enter. They have a cute collection of plants that are the perfect size for a housewarming gift, teacher appreciation gift, birthday gift, you name it and are also just a nice size for your home office desk to keep you company while you're working or brighten up a windowsill. They also have greeting cards in this corner that are lighthearted and fun so it's like a one stop shop for gift giving! For people who can eat cheese I just want to mention they have an amazing dairy case that I used to absolutely love before my body decided it was no longer friends with dairy. Every cheese I used to get at Trader Joe's was good, especially the cheddars and their goat cheese logs which are perfect for making homemade goat cheese and beet salad or an amazing sandwich with goat cheese instead of mayo. Oh and their goat cheese melts great on burgers. My husband was skeptical about goat cheese on a burger but now it's his favorite. Just realized this review is turning into a Jane Austen novel so I'll wrap it up by saying thank you to all the awesome humans who work at this Trader Joe's and make it a fun and friendly place to get groceries. I went to Trader Joe's once when I had just graduated high school. I did not understand what all the hype was. I did not grow up eating Trader Joe's and I saw the prices and the amount that this place offered, and I was not a fan. I decided to try Trader Joe's once more because my friends started raving about it and I would see their fridge stocked with Trader Joe's items. I started seeing items for unique Trader Joe's products on social media and they all looked so interesting and delicious. I have had to grocery shop on my own for a while now, however, because of my previous experience I stayed away from Trader Joe's until last week. For the second time in my life, I went to try out Trader Joe's and my experience was completely different. It was packed that day because it was the weekend, however, the service was still fast and very friendly. I grabbed a cart and went inside not knowing what I would expect (I ended up just needing a basket haha, good note for next time). The first thing I noticed were all the seasonal items! All the pumpkin spice, fall-shaped cookies, etc. The second thing I noticed were the prices and portion sizes. The portion size of each product that is sold at Trader Joe's is perfect for one person and the price that is paid for the product is not too overpriced! Everything that I bought ranged from $2 to about $5! I had bought 7 items for $22 that day. It might have been my perspective change that completely changed my view of Trader Joe's, but Trader Joe's will now become the place that I will buy unique frozen and boxed items. I most likely will not be buying my produce there, however, I noticed they sell organic products and single-items where you can pick how much you'd like to take home with you. I think this place is perfect for one to two person households and/or for young adults, so I will most definitely be coming back to Trader Joe's every other week for my groceries :) read more

I love this place & supporting local is important to me. It's my go-to for some of the favorite" foods and treats " to keep around the house. My daughter and I love these tacos they are the best for her since they are gluten-free and they make a tasty fast dinner. I as well love their orange chicken here pit it over rice or have it by itself it's the best. The staff is always gloved, masked and always happy to help check if items are needed if it's not on the shelves which are pretty rare since they are always stocking & changing out products. This was the first place I experienced Covid precautions where they required face masks, social distancing, limited number of guests in the store, and hand sanitation. I thought it would bother me a lot, but it actually made me feel safer. Their fresh flowers and plants are cheaper than at most florists. Delicious food, yummy snacks, and big parking lot at this location. I love their children's cinnamon abc cookies, ginger snaps, cookie butter paste and cookies, and frozen macaroni and cheese. Their autumn pumpkins, apple scented candles, leaf shaped tortilla chips, and harvest soup/pasta sauce/salsa/frosted cookies are the best! Murphy was a great cashier. This Trader Joe's location is just a few miles from my house and is a place I visit regularly each week. Things I love about Trader Joe's-friendly employees who seem to love their job and interacting with the public, lettuce, flower bouquets, plants, cards, pizza dough, baguettes, dog treats...and more! Everything is very affordable and fresh. Trader Joe's is also probably the only national chain grocery store that has actually taken the pandemic seriously, and seems to protect the workers and customers more than any other grocery store I have visited. When they become busy and decide to open up new checkstands, it would be awesome if they were to grab a customer who has been waiting in line, instead of the first person closest to their checkstand. You can find bright and colorful produce stacked in neat array, with aisles of frozen foods that are priced fairly and give customers the chance to try unique international spices, jellies, marinades, and dinner kits that they wouldn't typically prepare themselves. The food and employees are super! You can buy a lot of groceries for a small price. The produce is per item not by weight. The meat selection is great but more expensive than Walmart, for example. I will splurge on their hot links sausage and spicy sausage. The taste is amazing and they're nitrite free. The frozen foods section is large and has so many great items. My little boy loves the frozen macaroni and cheese. I love the frozen cheese enchiladas. I worked at another Trader Joe's and learned a few tips... 1- If you purchase something you do not like, bring back the item (package) or receipt and they'll refund you the money. 2- They rotate everything! The freshest thing will be at the back. 3- If an item is out of stock, it doesn't necessarily mean it's gone. The warehouse is either out or there will be more inventory on the next truck. usually all the trader joe's i go to are very wonderful people and very positive place and i do bring my emotional support animal with me and i have no troubles at all with ANY of the trader joe's stores. But 23 of December went to this particular store in cottonwood heights and i was greeted hello and all was good and no questions asked, mind u it's cold outside and it's winter so obviously i had my support animal in a coat underneath it's her tag and all. i was startled by a white women i quote well i hate to do this to you i love dogs and ur dog isn't a service dog and aren't allowed here and some my reaction was fast i said sorry and but didn't let me finish my reaction and left saying nothing more. but usually a NORMAL PERSON would do is asked for letter or document stating ur dog is emotional dog. very uneducated white women needs to do more research about service animals asking for prof and needs to notify a manger! clearly this women was bored and nothing to do them bug me and my service dog. I took the high road and left the store are cried my way to another TRADER JOE'S and was asked no questions and etc. to this lady who clearly didn't know about dogs to service dogs, i hope you educate yourself and stock you own store and notify a superior, and asked for a document and have a wonderful Christmas! read more

My husband and I love this location way better than the sugarhouse location. The customers and employees are a lot nicer and more respectful. There's a lot more space in the store so it doesn't feel like a zoo. The employees were very willing to help us when we had a question and they took us right to the product we needed. I went to Trader Joe's for the first time last week to get a gift for a friend who loves this store, and had to spend 10 minutes waiting in line outside for my chance to go in. I tried to take it as a good sign--that T.J.'s must be top-class if so many people wanted to shop here (what kind of grocery store has a line!?). Upon entry, I found that the storefront was clean, workers were masked, and the checkouts moved people through at a decent speed. Prices were, in fact, pretty low for most groceries, which confirmed what I'd heard from others. However, the low cost comes at the expense of variety--you won't find any name brand products here (which I understand is the point of cutting out the middle-man for cheap prices). Overall, I think T.J.'s is a pretty good store if you're looking for groceries at a lower price. I can't say that I'm 100% sold and that I understand the hype that people give it (it wasn't an extraordinary shopping experience by any means), but it's cleaner than some other grocery stores I've been to in the area. read more

The best grocery store for trying new delights! We walked in and were immediately greeted with a Brookie (brownie and cookie covered in yummy hot fudge). It was delicious! They had a variety of other samples throughout the store (lots of healthy options too). Customer service was great. Checking out went quickly. Oh trader joe...the best place to go to get food and tell people you've made them. They have such great selection, and a lot of their ready to eat food is delicious and not expensive at all. They do have great selection in flowers. The flower selection isn't expensive. You can get a nice bouquet for as little as $2 and if you want to go fancy you'll just need to spend $10. Lol. The fresh produce selection is the same as all grocery store. They do have a nice frozen food section, except they don't have everything. I was on the hunt for cool whip, but was unable to find them. I still got heavy whipping cream. The best part though is that the price here isn't much at all, it is actually cheaper than a lot of places. I bought lime here for 19 cents, but Walmart and Smith's had them for 49 cents. I do recommend coming here for the basic stuff, but if you want something super fancy, you might need to made a trip to Walmart or Smith's. read more

I stopped into Trader Joe's today in cottonwood heights. I needed to grab some snacks and water etc for a road trip. As I was checking out, the cashier asked me "where ya headed next?" I explained I had to drive to Scottsdale AZ to attend a funeral for my brother n law. She gave her sincerest condolences. I love Trader Joes and always have! These are a few of my favorite things: Frozen vegetable selection - We go through about a bag a week of their French green beans, the peas, Brussels sprouts, and charred corn are great, and they even have cauliflower rice. Flowers and plants - Best selection and price on orchids, and they always have pretty decent quality flowers for a grocery store, not to mention some really lovely seasonal and unusual options. Cheese - Small-ish amount, but they have lots of great ones (chevre and Roquefort ftw, plus sometimes they have this sheeps milk cheese in a green package with flowers that I sadly can't remember the name of, but if you ever see it buy it and eat it with dried cranberries) Also the prices can't be beat. Sweets and candy - One of the few places that carries Valrhona chocolate bars (during Christmas they had a Valrhona advent calendar!!!), plus their dark chocolate peanut butter cups are life changing AND the chocolate pudding in the refrigerated section is surprisingly rich and tasty. Scandinavian Swimmers are their version of Swedish Fish, and actually better (blasphemy, I know), and really 90% of the sweets I've had have been pretty amazing. Dried fruit and nuts - Lowest price for almond flour, and the dried mango are the best of any I've ever tried. The dried mandarin is a special treat, and honestly I just buy most of my dried fruits here (I go through a lot). Produce - More expensive than the grocery store generally, but they always have dates, and they often have fruit I've never seen anywhere else like cherry plums. Their bagged greens seem to be better quality than other stores (they don't get all mushy and icky), and I generally go through 2-3 bags of their arugula weekly. It's also the only place I've ever been able to find black garlic. They have some items they carry all the time, but they can sell out, and sometimes don't know when they'll get them back in stock. Their specials or seasonal items will disappear, never ever to come back, and it is heartbreaking. If you find something you like stock up. This location is great just like all the others (except no wine 'cause it's Utah), and the employees here are SO friendly. On the weekends the store can get a little crowded, but even then check out is generally pretty dang quick. I always feel happy when I leave TJ's, and it's not just 'cause I bought a bunch of delicious food. It's a really pleasant place to shop. I started this review with 4 stars, but after typing all this I remember why TJs is the best, so 5 stars it is! read more

Oh my heavens. Buddy the Elf says it perfectly, "I'm in love, I'm in love, and I don't care who knows it!" This is my first time even hearing about Trader Joe's, and let me tell you that I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. The best way to win my heart (as well as 5 stars) is clean and organized merchandise, stellar customer service, and free samples. All of which this quaint grocery store NAILED. Clean and organized: Between the awesome flower shoppe in the front, the fun signs, and the bins chuck full of goodies, I could not keep my jaw off of the floor. Even though there were hoards of people, everyone was kind and didn't make a mess of the store. Basically everyone who shops there is classy, which makes sense because it's a classy place. Customer service: All of the employees were top notch. Very kind, very talkative, and very helpful. One employee especially, and unfortunately I cannot remember her name--but she had black hair and it started with an "A"-- was exceptional. I was asking about some chips when she just pulled it off of the shelf and had me sample them right then and there! When I told her that it was totally fine and she didn't need to do that for me, she replied with, "Oh, we don't want you to get all the way home and hate what you bought!" However, it turns out the chips I sampled were incredible and I ended up purchasing two bags (in case you were wondering, they were popcorn chips in a black bag). The samples: Again, the employees are more than willing to have you try their products. I sampled cheese in the front and made my way to the back where they were sampling cranberry juice. ALL of which was awesome. TIPS & TRICKS: * This Trader Joe's is brand spankin' new, so it is busy. If you're not a fan of that, I would recommend doing your shopping earlier than later, chances are you'll miss the afternoon shoppers. * Be sure to take a photo in the "head in the hole" right when you walk in, you can't miss it. read more

Great grocery store to shop, they have interesting selections at reasonable prices that can't be found in other grocery shops. Wished they would wipe down the carts, but they do have cleaning stations to wipe down the carts. The line gets a little long but it goes really fast. The only complaint I have is that one of the employees were bagging my items and one of the bags had a broken handle and they didn't even replace it. Wished they would have double bag it or at least give me a new bag to carry all my items. But other than that, everything about the store is great. The employees seemed to more friendly and courteous compare to other grocery stores. There should be MORE Trader Joe's around Salt Lake City! read more

This location is my favorite in town because of their staff. Everyone has been really nice. I had an especially good experience recently. An item I wanted was out of stock every time I came shopping. I finally asked a worker and they told me it sells out as soon as it hits the shelf. He told me shipment will be in on Wednesday and it will likely be restocked and I could call to confirm. Wednesday arrived, I called the store and another associate put one aside for me. I know that timing played its hand in me getting my item, but the employees telling me when shipment comes in and encouraging me to call played an even bigger roll. I love that Trader Joe's has the things you can only get there - like the dark chocolate covered ginger or amazing dark chocolate peanut butter cups or mango sorbet.
