I dropped my wife's car off for a repair after our insurance did their "estimate". There were some issues finding a particular part and getting it in a timely manner. Eddie stayed in touch with me nearly daily trying to get the problem taken care of. Of course the insurance estimate was a lowball using substandard parts and needed some supplemental support all of which Smith's Paint and Body took care of. We picked the car up today and it appears good as new and we could not be happier with the end result. We will continue to support and recommend them to any and everyone. If they had zero I would put that. They told me tomorrow for a week the I had to fight with them to get car the car back.when I told them not to touch car then they tried to charge the insurance company for a complete tear down. They only took part of the front bumper. Two body shops since then told me it's a total. I would never use them!!!!!! read more

It's too bad zero stars is not an option. I had my car at smiths after it was damaged in a storm several years ago. They kept my car for over 7 weeks (long after my insurance covered rental car ran out... which I had informed them about in the beginning). Mean while, my car sat outside, uncovered in the summer rains/humidity the entire time. The interior was basically ruined (never smelled right again and the fabric liners delineated). They refused to do anything about the liners. Once I got my car back, several items where not properly reinstalled and the paint primmer had misted into the car.... all over the black dash board. Every time I confronted them about problems, I was told 'That'll go away with time' or 'that's normal'. Right after I got the car back, we had a big rain storm and the floor board of the car was full of water because they had not properly sealed the door back up. I took it back to a completely unhelpful staff. I ended up taking the door panel apart and fixing it on my own time / dime. Upon trading my in car recently, 2 different dealerships spotted a poor quality of workmanship on the repair and said that it devalued my car by $500-$1000... (I'd say that was just a cheap dealer, but it wasn't... it was 2 different reputable dealers) I honestly don't understand how they've been in business so long with work like this. I cringe every time I drive by the place. I'd highly advise staying away. read more

Whatever you do...do not EVER take your vehicle to Smith's Paint & Body Shop Inc on Hwy 160 Fort Mill! My story: I hit two deer. State Farm suggested Smith's. I agreed. The tow truck driver took my vehicle to Smith's, and when Smith's was finished, I was very pleased. When I got in to drive home, I had to make seat adjustments to accommodate my size. The next day I had to go to a doctor's appointment at 2pm. So at approximately 1:15 or 1:30 (the hottest time of day) I tried to open my car door. It would not open because the left quarter panel and door were rubbing due to expansion from the heat. I had to crawl in and out of the passenger side so that I did not have to force the door open. I understood the cause and called Smith's. They complied and told me that they would make the necessary adjustments. After receiving my car back the second time, I noticed that the panel that holds the switches for the drivers seat adjustment was broken off of the seat. I brought it to "Randy's" attention. He stated that it was like that when the car came in and that the tow truck driver must have done it. I initially said I will have to check on that because it wasn't broken before and then I remembered adjusting my seat the first time I picked it up from them...when it was NOT broken. So I contacted State Farm because I already knew Randy's position on the matter, which was not taking responsibility for Smith's Paint & Body Inc's damage. State Farm contacts Smith's and they confirm their position. State Farm tells me that since it is Smith's word against mine, then there is nothing that they will do to rectify the damage, and that if I would like to put a claim in then they could do that. State Farm asked if I had before pictures. I stated that I was on 97, in the middle of nowhere with no street lights....HOW in the world was I suppose to take pictures between 9pm and 3:30am before the tow truck arrived? Nevertheless, if I couldn't get in on the drivers side (before the second trip to Smith's) how was I supposed to take pictures then? The problem: I have a $250 deductible. The part will not cost that much, so there is no sense in putting in a claim. I understand State Farm's stance; however, I have never had this type of problem before and have been a long standing customer of theirs. In addition, I went to Smith's based on their affiliation with State Farm. Solution: NEVER RETURN TO SMITH'S and tell the world of my experience. As far as State Farm, when my policy runs out...I will be moving to a different company that takes care of their clientele. read more

took this guy 8 weeks to replace tire rods, showed absolutely no seance of urgency, especially on the phone. Overpriced and lazy workers fix about once car a day I assume because I rarely see the yard with more than one or two cars. Absolute scam don't waste your time or money on this imbecile of a car mechanic. never go here. Collision center right down the street is slightly better and way more caring about your cars. read more

My car sustained some minor body damage in a parking lot. I knew I'd take it to Smith's because four years ago they did a beautiful job on my husband's truck when he was hit.
