I was overcharged so severely that when I tried to trade it in at several dealers they would only give me $20,000 For a vehicle that I paid $32,000. I am under it fir over $10,000. Marc took the time to have it detailed twice to remove some stains on the roof and was extremely laid back and easy to work with. No sales pressure like so many other dealerships. And the pricing at Smithtown was very clear, no hidden fees or games to get you in the door. All fees disclosed up front unlike many other Kia dealers on the Island. Especially a specific Kia dealer on the North Shore who loves to advertise their "Internet Price" that is conditional on a large down payment (in fine print). I have been to 5 Long Island Kia dealers in the past 6 weeks and Smithtown was far and above the best of them all! Thomas in Finance was able to explain all warranty and extended warranty information with no sales pressure. I was able to stop in the dealership once I had financing (they offered their own as well), sign the paperwork, and be out the door in under 30 minutes. I think that is a record for any dealership! Taking the vehicle to another mechanic, I found out that the "new" part that was put in by the dealer was cracked and broken (assuming that the defective part was in fact replaced). Do NOT do business with these people. The first sign of being screwed came when I got a bill from FORD saying the GPS chip was missing from the car when Smithtown Kia returned it to them. Our Kia Niro's air conditioning only worked for about 6 months - after that, it randomly blew hot air in our faces every 5 minutes - trying to get it fixed under warranty was IMPOSSIBLE. Not only the service department continue to try and tell me I was "out of warranty" (impossible on a car less than 1 year old), but they continued to claim it was "normal behavior". I'm 50+ years old. I've purchased at least 10 cars NEW. I know what "normal behavior" is when it comes to air conditioning. I'm not stupid.... but then the folks at Smithtown Kia treats everyone as if they're stupid - ESPECIALLY WOMEN. My wife stopped taking the car in for maintenance because they continued to overcharge her, and replace parts that didn't need replacing - I had to argue with them over almost every bill. My wife and I fell in love with the 2022 Telluride, took it for a test drive at Smithtown Kia and wanted to purchase it on a lease. We initially couldn't come to terms on a deal however after a day of discussions, we came to terms on a great deal that my wife and I were happy to sign. The vehicle came in about 14 days later and we picked it up and happily took it home. We worked with Jeff in finance who is absolutely amazing as well. The vehicle was pristinely detailed and the dealership was a really pleasant place to do a deal. They offer great value in the vehicles and in service as they give you complimentary lifetime oil changes, car washes and state inspections. Buyer Beware......... $5000.dollars over list price......We looked at the new EV6 electric car today. I have to say we were impressed . That being said ....I don't know if KIA Smithtown is trying to swindle you or if there greedy. The manufacturers sticker price is not what the car sells for. Our salesperson told us the car would be $5000,00 over the sticker price. I asked WHY ?? His answer... Because there in Demand . So tell me. Who gets this extra $5000. dollar's ? KIA ? Let's start from the beginning. We bought a 2016 KIA Sorento in June 2022. And we were told that the car was in great condition at the time of buying it. About a few months later we started having car issues. We heard a forceful churning noise from underneath the car and we called KIA to see if they can take us in. They told us we couldn't been seen "until a week or two" because there are other cars with similar problems. We told them it was an urgent matter because our car sounded like it was going to "blow-up". They said "ok, bring it in" but we couldn't get a diagnosis of the car for about a week. They eventually told us it was a "transfer case issue that could have also caused a transmission issue." They told us it was "possibly your fault by the way you drive". By far one of the most ridiculous things to tell a customer. Within that waiting period we requested for a rental car. We could not get a rental car for nearly 2 weeks! Again, told us, "Unfortunately there's nothing we can do, we don't have any car rentals". Car is under warranty; we didn't have our car for 40 days and it took 2 weeks to get a rental. June, we had oil problems. Not sure what exactly caused it but we had a leak and the pressure sensor lit up. Called KIA again to bring it in the shop, they told us they could not take us in for ANOTHER 2 weeks. We spent nearly $900.00 for the maintenance which they couldn't cover under warranty. I'm not sure what the hell "bumper to bumper Warranty" even means if they can't fix an issue in which we don't have control of. We brought it to the shop, they proclaimed to have finally fixed all the issues, and not even 2 months in, our car seized up. Car had NO OIL. Car completely died on us on a busy highway, with kids in the car. So we had the car towed to KIA following day. We spoke to Erica ("Manager/handler for car rentals") who does not know her job because the people their set her up for failure. Tom (a guy who give insulting opinion AND THINKS HE IS ABLE TO DIAGNOSE CARS BECAUSE HES SEEN IT HAPPEN BUT CAN'T DIAGNOSE OR SAY WHAT THE PROBLEM IS) and Kevin who oversees Erika and Tom, and yet still couldn't do a damn thing for us. Oh, let me give him some credit, "I jumped you in front of everyone else (15 others with similar situation), but we still have to wait for "KIA members" to come in to check your car. But we don't have any car rentals. So you're going to have to wait 2 weeks. (on top of the almost two weeks I have already waited with my car still in the shop) to get the car to been seen and get a rental. And here's KIAs number, they could maybe help you. That is as much as I can do for you". Thank you, Kevin, and I mean it. For attempting to the most that you can to help. But our car has been at the dealership/shop for close to 2 weeks. We don't get any follow up phone calls and we still don't have a rental car. Our business with Smithtown KIA dealership is out the drain. And again, unfortunately there is nothing they can do for us. i am very upset with this dealership. i originally went here to just get my car serviced and up to date with the active recalls that were out. i scheduled them all on one day as i work two jobs and don't have much free time to just stop and go there. while i was there they tried the typical mechanic talk. they were telling me i needed new front tires cause i had bubbles in them and new brakes and rotors because they were rusted. i had just replaced the brakes and rotors and i knew that wasn't the case. but as for the tires, i decided i could probably use them regardless of whether they had bubbles or not. so i agreed to get two new tires. as soon as i left the dealership, i got the low tire pressure popping up on my screen. i thought it was a bit odd but maybe they just didn't put enough air in the tire or maybe the back was low. surely enough, it was one of the tires they replaced. so i put air in it and moved on with my day. and then two days later as i'm ready to go visit a friend for a week in the city, it pops up again when i'm going to the train station. i then emailed them saying that they need to figure out what's wrong as it is a brand new tire that is leaking air. i bring the car back again to have them look at it. there was a crack in the rim that i never had before. wanna know how i know that? my tire never leaked before it was changed. as if standing there thinking about how that possibly could've been done, i'm instantly told "you must've hit a pothole and it broke." the only place i drive my car was to work for a few days. and i didn't hit a single pothole. also, it popped up as SOON as i left the dealer the first day. they cracked my rim when they were changing the tire and refuse to take responsibility. instead, they're trying to tell me i have to buy a new rim for $500. i refused that offer and told them to put my tire back on and i'm leaving. they decided to put my spare on and the best part is they brought the car out, with the spare on, FLAT. they didn't even put air in the spare tire or even check the pressure! as soon as i got home, i noticed my cap on my drivers rear tire was missing. that wasn't one of the tires replaced. i found it on my passenger seat underneath my belongings. i'm very confused as to why they were playing with my other tire too. i will never be going back to this kia dealership ever again. this place is super unprofessional and clearly took a blind eye to me because i'm young and they think i can be easily swayed. they completely lost my business and i will be taking it elsewhere, where it will be appreciated. read more

Alex, our sales person was highly knowledgeable about the Kia forte and explained to my mother all of the key features and specifications. Good service in the dealership, impossible to connect with anyone helpful by phone. I wanted to transfer a lease to my mother, and kept getting inaccurate information and redirected. Left multiple voice messages over a month or so, and never able to connect with anyone. I keep getting told that someone will call me, and I have had voice messages left, but can never connect at a time that works for me. Follow up: I was told that I would be called back by a lease manager between 5p and 9p. No one ever called. I called back the next day, and repeatedly was transferred to the wrong person, disconnected, or transferred. I was given contradicting information by phone and ultimately told to call an 800 number where I was on hold until I was disconnected. I went in the dealership to get a quote on 2 vehicles. It wasn't the quote I was hoping for which was fine, so we left. I went onto their website to find the exact car I had been looking at and their website gave me a quote for over $100 less a month. Same money down. In fact, online it showed that it included taxes, which I had taken a picture of shown below, and when they sent me the quote to my email, it showed the same quote but taxes needed to be added. When I spoke with Rachel and asked why such a huge dectepancy, she said she would speak with the manager and get back to me. I forwarded all the info to her and she never got back to me. I sent her an email yesterday and still no response. I was a returning customer with them and the lack of customer service is unacceptable. I just got my 2019 Kia Optima yesterday. Smithtown Kia was the second dealer I went to only because the other dealership was closer. My wife and I sat with Ray. From the second we sat down until the next day when we left with the car he was patient, professional and very nice. He made us feel comfortable with the decision of getting the car and he didn't feel like the typical car salesman. Slow to respond and the first person I called never even called me back. When I finally could get someone to quote a price on an advertised lease they were much higher then another Kia dealership. Bait and switch They are probably fine if they can rob you with the price otherwise if they think they can't rip you off they don't want to bother. Never trade in your vehicle and mix the deal together they will steal your car without you even knowing it. Always separate the deal on separate paperwork even better yet sell it yourself and get thousands more then they will offer. When they mix the numbers they will quote you a higher number for your trade in but you won't get it once they finagle the numbers. There is no communication from parts department on getting part needed and once asked for a refund didn't hear from anyone until I called 5 days later to obtain a status on part. Associate Todd from parts was no help, could not provide a return invoice. All he said was they pushed the return button and to get ahold of my bank. Don't hold your breath on speaking to a supervisor for that store, you get the run around and directed to multiple associates that have no clue on what customer service really is. Not to mention that I was redirected to parts again and was asked why I'm even returning the part and it's not Amazon. Found that very funny, might have been better off ordering a part from Amazon. Wonderful experience! I bought a used (non Kia) SUV from them and can't believe the deal I got (everyone I tell is shocked at how much they give you for a used car, warranty, oil changes, etc). Kia of Smithtown, did nothing for my wife after we purchased a new car. My wife's car wouldn't start this mourning causing her to miss work, when we called Kia of Smithtown they had an attitude. When we got there we were told that they don't offer a loaner car and repairs on our new vehicle could take days. When we Had to leave we were told that they don't offer rides home or back to the dealership but we can use an Uber that they wouldn't pay for. Overall I had a great experience! My salesman, Ray , was great. Very honest and knowledgeable. Very patient getting the car set up before I left the lot. One thing I think can be improved is communicating to the customer that your agreed on price may change once they run your credit and their lender (Kia Finance) doesn't think a credit score in the very good range is high enough for their standards. It just comes off shady since it is their own leasing company. Communication is key and the consumer would appreciate that upfront!
