Delicious bread and pastries! Had the sourdough and some pastries. Everything was delicious and light and flaky. Prices aren't cheap though it is quality baked goods you're getting for that.

I had a delicious sandwich here and amazing chocolate croissants! So excited to have a bakery in town. I look forward to trying out more of their bread--especially their sourdough. Bonus: There is a discount on day-old bread and pastries. Still delicious, and will save you a bit of cash!

I can't overstate my love for Smitty Bread. It's by far my favorite bakery in Lafayette/West Lafayette. The location is just a bit outside of downtown on 4th street but not too bad if you're used to going to the market downtown on Saturdays. The bread here is on point. The sourdoughs are amazing but my go to is the baguette. It's got a great crumb on the outside but nice and chewy on the inside. At $4 a loaf, it is a great affordable price point. Don't forget their croissants either. I had the opportunity to have one of their fresh baked almond croissant right out of the oven and it was perfect. This place is worth making a trip to Lafayette alone and is a great bakery in the community. You can also find them at the the local farmers markets .

Cozy menu tho not sure why no prices on day old bread

Incredible and obvious the high ratings across both Yelp and Google for this sourdough centric bakery paving the way to aroma heaven. Sadly there's limited ingredient and flavor options, nothing gluten free or grainless, would love to see some black beans and such show up especially at these California city prices! Friendly and fun staff made my first time stop a win, easy to indulge on everything tempting me from the shelves yet at seven dollars a loaf I felt better dropping that on an almond scone and cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was surprisingly similar to the ones my mom used to make, yup fresh ground flour too! Cannot say mom has been beaten there but the scone made perfection jealous! Wow! I would easily come back just for that. Parking is plentiful despite sharing the lot with the mentally disturbed graphically challenged neighbors who certainly seem to share my own old fashioned mental trauma however I prefer music to Picasso graffiti. Yet I'm often trotting inside to grab Eleventh House coffee and all the better now to add a scone with it!

This place rocks! There aren't enough superlatives to describe how great the breads and pastries are. If you know about this place yet haven't come by, shame on you! If you are just hearing about Smitty Bread, get in here and see what the hype is.

It was my first time here today, and I'll be back soon!! Great staff and wonderful menu. I had a hard time deciding, but went with a ham and cheese croissant sandwhich. It was delicious!

This would be my fave if it were in Paris. It's very good, particularly in the area of baguettes, sourdough breads, and croissants. On their bread i suggest that if they don't have what you want in stock, ask about it as they often have some frozen stock (which is just as good). We often get them to slice the bread for us there, or warm some pastries for us to eat there. It's telling that their clientele is often european. They also sell at area farmer's markets.

Two words: almond croissant. This place is delicious. So many pastries and breads literally made while you can watch. They put so much care in each thing they make, which is why it's a little pricey, but worth it.

I heard about this place from a friend who said that I should stop next time I'm in town. I bought Pain au chocolat, almond croissant, and rye bread. They were all delicious, but I loved the almond croissant.

Friendly bakery with a great selection of sourdoughs, croissants and pretzels. They also serve sandwiches, toasts, and coffee. I enjoyed visiting with a friend over cappuccinos. We also picked up some day old bread. The Italian loaf I brought home was a perfect accompaniment to bruschetta. I need to come back and try their croissants!

The danish and croissants are some of the best I've ever had! I have to stop in every time I drive by.

The whipped feta was so much better than I was ready for with fried pita and apple, the flavors played so well together that we were all scraping the plate for a last bite. The Fall 2025 Cocktail list is full of delightful options. Between my mother and I, we tried four of the eight cocktails on the list. Sage Advice is an absolute yes for me, it's light and flavorful. I'm also a sucker for the fluff provided by the egg white, plus who doesn't love a little added protein! The Pumpkin Pie Martini is a great seasonal compliment as the stand in espresso martini. Mom's Bourbon Cider was delicious, served hot it provides a warm hug in drink format. The campfire came next and wow! Strong and delicious, the freshly roasted marshmallow garnish is a win for sure.
