My husband and I are on a road trip and found this place on the Texas Barbecue Facebook page. It was highly rated and for good reason! My husband had the 1/2 pound brisket sandwich which looked like a double meat hamburger. It was AMAZING! I had 2 pork ribs which literally fell off the bone and had a sweet saucy flavor. I also had their brisket chili. Because we read the reviews, we knew it was a food truck court environment. We happened to stop on a nice weather day so, we really enjoyed the cute courtyard. Everything was excellent! The service was quick and the people were very friendly. Excited to come back through this part of Texas just so we can eat here again!!! read more

Visited this place today for the first time and I figured that as uncomfortable as me and my guest were made to feel the least I could do was leave a review. I'm not going to act like this isn't some bad ass TX bbq (even though, judging by the Razorbacks flag they have flying... I think these boys are from Arkansas. No wonder ... ) the chopped beef sandwich and side of beans I got were fantastic but ... $11 for a dang chopped beef sandwich?! Seriously?! I know of a bbq joint not too far from this place where you can actually sit inside a climate controlled building and the chopped beef sandwiches are only $6.99 and just as good if not better. About a year ago, a buddy picked up sliced beef sandwiches from Smoak Town and brought them to a football game. The sandwiches were piled high with beef and so good. A year later, that sandwich was still on my mind so I decided to go to their food truck in Fate. I ordered the sandwich, (of course) 2 ribs and potato salad. My sandwich was a combo of lean and wet brisket which is how I ordered it. Every bit as good as I remembered! The ribs were fantastic but I could only eat one because the sandwich was so big. The potato salad was good as well. Cameron is the pit master here while his wife Kourtney helps with customers. This young couple has the best bbq in Rockwall County IMO. Looking forward to eating more of their BBQ. Almost forgot, Kourtney and Cameron gave me a sample of their jalapeño cheese sausage....WOW! Very good!! read more

I came across Smoak Town BBQ by accident. Curbside appeal is amazing and the reason why we stopped to try them out. We were not disappointed! First, the service was amazing. The lady who took our order was sweet, helped explain the menu, and gave us some suggestions. While describing the sausage to us, another employee automatically cut a piece for us to sample. This sausage was amazing. It had small pieces of cheese, a little of a kick, and very juicy. I typically do not order sausage when I eat BBQ but I could not pass this one up. We also ordered the brisket and ribs. My husband was obsessed with the ribs. You can literally pull the meat off the bone. I am very picky with the amount of fat on my brisket. There was more fat than I typically like but the meat was so tender that it came right off with no effort. As far as the sides I recommend the potato salad, creamed corn, and beans. Just the bbq pit smell draws you in, wait till you try the food!! It was hard for us to decide what to try because everything on the menu sounded amazing. We finally decided on the one meat plate with two sides. We knew we had to try the jalapeño cheddar links, they were to die for!! Our two sides were equally amazing, Mac & cheese & baked beans. The moist briskets by the half pound were delicious. A side of baked beans was an excellent compliment to the half pound of perfectly seasoned and smoked beef. I also enjoyed the pork bellies when I was first introduced to this place several months ago by my brother. I live about 20 miles west of Fate and did not hesitate to take a drive there every weekend and pick up some good BBQ from Smoak Town. Stopped by the Fate Food Truck Court on Saturday to get some BBQ. IMO, this is the best BBQ in the Rockwall area. I had a chopped beef sandwich, which was loaded with meat, took me 2 meals to finish it. Meat was tender and had great flavor. BBQ sauce had a tang to it and was not overly thick and sweet. Also tried their brisket chili which was loaded with meat and had a great flavor. Will continue to visit Smoak Town to get my BBQ fix. read more

I've been hearing good things about this little gem of a bbq place so we came to check it out. We were greeted with a friendly and happy smile. My wife and I split a 3- meat combo plate. Brisket was excellent. Nice central Texas style with good flavor. Turkey was moist and tender and pulled pork had a different flavor, but it was also good. Sides were potato salad and of course beans. Nice clean picnic style area to sit under patio umbrellas and enjoy the day. Highly recommend this place. read more

You have to visit multiple times because everything is so good and the portions are massive. If it's Wednesday you have to get the burger. It's the best in town and only served on this day. Amazing BBQ, but even better owners/employees. You need look no further than all of the perfect reviews on yelp and google to confirm these very things. In fact, the only real exception to all of the perfect reviews is "Marc G." I normally do not post for or against any local business. But after reading what "Marc G." had to say about Smoak Town, I feel obligated to point out the absolute ridiculousness of his review. To briefly summarize, Marc G. has three general "complaints" (none of which have any merit or validity): (1) the cost of a brisket sandwich is too high; (2) there is no air conditioning; and (3) he and his guest felt "uncomfortable" during their visit. Each of these so-called "complaints" will be addressed in turn. First, Marc's complaint regarding the cost of a chopped brisket sandwich illustrates a complete lack of awareness and knowledge as to the cost of beef across the country. Regardless of the fact that anyone who actually knows what they are talking about with BBQ is well-aware that $11 for a brisket sandwich is not only reasonable, it is well below market value, a two minute google search would quickly reveal that the cost of beef has skyrocketed around the country as a result of the pandemic. So far, Marc is 0 for 1. Second, Marc's complaint regarding the lack of air conditioning is not only confusing, it is particularly ridiculous. After all, Smoak Town is an outdoor establishment. Obviously, if Marc requires air conditioning to have a good experience, one can only question his mental acumen when he decided to go to an outdoor restaurant. Of course, if Marc has found a way to have air conditioning in a completely outdoor environment, he is more than free to share that to the rest of the world. However, given the fact that he is complaining about a below market value $11 brisket sandwich, the illusive outdoor air conditioning has not yet been invented by Marc. Sorry Marc, you are now 0 for 2. Third, I can only assume that that Marc's purported confusion regarding the appropriate cost of a brisket sandwich and his general view that air conditioning should be present at an outdoor establishment put Marc on edge and made him "uncomfortable" during his time at Smoak Town. After all, because this is a family run establishment, you might be lucky enough to meet the owner and his amazing family while you are there. Maybe the family environment is just what put Marc over the edge. That's a big 0 for 3 Marc. In reality, and as I discovered when looking through Marc's other reviews, Marc is a very tough customer to deal with. At the very least, I have been able to determine that Marc is very unhappy with a haircut he recently received, so I guess I can cut him a little slack. Put simply, Smoak Town is amazing BBQ and everyone there will make you feel right at home. I only hope that they will survive the loss of business from Marc G. as he continues his search for the perfect Denny's. read more

Smoak Town catered a wedding I attended this past weekend. Food at weddings are always hit or miss, you have to prepare a ton of food and often times the meat is over cooked. That was not the case this past weekend, the brisket, pulled pork, Mac and cheese, cream corn (sweet with a little spice) and potato salad was amazing!! Some of the best bbq you'll ever have. Brisket is out of this world, but pulled pork, ribs, sausage, and turkey are also fantastic. All sides are great - my favorites are the potato salad and brew's beans. Keep an eye out for the random specials as well - the pork belly burnt ends and bacon wrapped stuffed jalapenos are ridiculously good.
