I accidentally rolled in here after trying to go to Berkeley Quick Smog around the corner. Service was quick. I was initially quoted $49.99. When I said I could easily go around the corner where they had quoted me $39.99 all in, he said he was willing to match. My low rating is because when I went to pay, I realized he was not upfront with the cost and that there were additional hidden fees. I probably could have been have been more inquiring about the cost prior to going forward and the additional fees aren't going to break my bank, but I don't appreciate misleading behavior. read more

So easy and quick! I was barely there 15 minutes total (smog itself took maybe 10). I drove up with no one before me and he took my car right away. By the time I had gone into the connected convenience store to buy new windshield washer fluid I only had to sit another 5 minutes before he was done! He saw me holding the washer fluid bottle when I went to pay and offered to put it in for me. Asked about what I did and chatted as he filled the washer fluid. He asked if I would be paying with cash or debit card, so I assume that credit cards are not accepted. I recently purchased a vehicle and need to have a smog check to transfer title to my name. A friend referred me to go here. I called early then business hours to see if the answer to my question was on the message. I hung up before recording was over as I was busy getting ready for work. Within 10mins a friendly voice returned a call to me saying, "Good morning, there was a missed call, do you have a question that I could answer?" I told him, "I need to have my vehicle smogged if I needed an appointment? " He said they were already there and would be happy to help me bring it right in. They had had another reviewer say that they misquoted and the response was to all people reading the review, mention it and get a $39+ state cert fee price. I have a 1995 Camry got my car done in 20 mins for $39.99 + $20('95 and older) + $8.25 (cert)=$70. I went to a couple of places on San Pablo that advertised on yelp that they had a deal but they did not honor it and it was going to be $80. Beware that the smog places around Berkeley do not have updated prices on their websites and it looks like everyone increased their price not representative of the yelp reviews.
