I called to make an appointment, even though I didn't need one. I was greeted right away and said that it would be 15 minutes. It may have been less than 15 minutes, another plus. Trying to be proactive with adulting this year, so as soon as my registration notice came in, I started shopping around for a place to get a smog check. Found MM Star Smog on Groupon, and liked that it was close to my house. I called and made an appointment for Saturday morning. The gentleman I spoke with over the phone was polite and helpful. The day of my appointment, I needed to push my time back. They were willing to accommodate the change. When I brought my car in, they told me it would take about 20 minutes. If you need a smog check -- this is the place to go! They care about their customers!!! I called about a smog check. I explained that my check engine light was on sometimes but kept self-correcting. It was likely the oxygen sensor or a new filter but it wasn't really broken so I was reluctant to take my car to the shop before the smog check. Sara said they didn't charge more to retest and she was so helpful I headed over since the check engine light was off at the time. Melvin who tested my car noticed the vacuum hose was loose and reconnected it (probably explains my check engine). Thanks to them, I avoided an unnecessary and likely expensive diagnostic just to pass my smog test and get my registration paid on time. The office and wait room were very clean and everything was new. There was the self serve coffee/tea. The tv was on the history channel but a remote was available and I think there was also wi-fi. I got my civic smogged here today and was pleasantly surprised. The price was fair (about $60) they got it done in about 20 min and the waiting area was clean and comfortable. Gave them a call to see if they are available and O'Neill told me to drop by right away and I was in and out within 30 minutes. The shop is very clean, and O'Neill is very knowledgeable and friendly. Awesome, incredible, amazing!!! These are just a few words that describe MM Star Smog. After several attempts to smog our vehicle through another company, which failed a few times, my brother finally said you have to try the company that does all my vehicles. They have been doing it for years and I've always been pleased with the service and the people. Upon arriving at MM Star we were pleasantly greeted by Melvin. We explained that we had the evaporation leak fixed, which was the original issue, however the system was not resetting itself in order to pass smog. We were told to run\drive the vehicle at full strength; turn the lights on, the defogger, the air-conditioner, and the music. We were told that sometimes older vehicles need this type of process to reset after being fixed. I just wished someone had informed us of this tip months ago. Melvin took our vehicle in, I said a silent prayer, and with a smile Melvin returned less than 20 minutes later with great news that our vehicle passed the smog test. Thank you, MM Star!!! I stopped in late afternoon on a rainy Monday to see if they could take my car for a check and everything was wonderful! Melvin was great, friendly, helpful. I didn't have the reg. renewal notice with me, but he found it using my car's VIN. It didn't take very long (not enough time to fully appreciate the comfortable seats in the waiting area!) and, SURPRISE!, when I got in my car to leave after paying I noticed that they'd also cleaned the dashboard while they were at it... a mini 'detailing'! Their internet was down so I was expecting to wait for quite some time, but the manager was working extremely hard to get it back up and running and kept reassuring me that I wouldn't have to wait much longer.
