We've been bringing our cars here for about 15 years and the prices and service have been good in the past. However, at my last visit, they charged me $572 ($234 parts, $315 labor + tax) to replace the spark plugs in a 2013 Honda Civic, which seemed excessive. I asked Raymond why the price was so high, and he said it was because the cost of the spark plugs had gone way up due to a rare earth shortage. But I looked online and you can buy the spark plugs they installed for $20 each at any number of places including stores that specialize in Honda OEM parts. I also called a few other local auto shops and they all quoted me between $300 - $330 all in for the same job for which SmogIt charged me $572. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Ok...i was skeptical at first when i met Raymond and Ming. I thought for sure they would try to rip us off because i am a girl. Boy was i wrong. The Gl450 had an a/c problem and they got it figured out right away. They had the Mechanic, Kris , explain what the problem was and why. They showed me all the parts and charged a fair price to get it all going on a Friday no less!! Kris and Ming also noted the Power Steering leak and a bad bushing on the steering rack that needed attention before it got worse. I was very impressed that they did not talk to me like i was stupid. The shop is located on evelyn ave right off of highway 85 which was crazy convienant. I recommend this shop highly for any Mercedes repair. THANK YOU !! read more

This is such a shame and a complete dishonest to run a business that was once many people's go to when Ming was still the owner. The new owner's attitude has been arrogant and rude. I'll keep this short and sweet. I took a car here for servicing, and they charged me over $8,000 for various repairs, including engine seals, brakes, motor mounts, and a lot of other expensive things. When I picked the car up, the check engine light was on. I told them this, and they said they'd fix it. The next day, I pick it up, and the car is idling at like 1800 RPM. That's insanely high. They said they'd fix it. I pick the car up again, the car is idling ok, but the next morning, idling at 1800 RPM again. I told them this and they said bring it in, but at this point I'd been taking ubers to work constantly and had enough. I took the car to one of their competitors and they fixed the issue in a few hours. However, they also informed me that the motor mounts in the car needed to be replaced. I informed them that they had been replaced only a few months earlier, and as mentioned in another review, the technicians told me there is no way the motor mounts had been replaced, and that they were worn out. I get a shop charging a few extra dollars for things, but I was paying over $8,000 for repairs here, and they did a bait and switch on something I would have happily paid for. I don't know how they can justify this, maybe they never got caught? Maybe they hired a new mechanic who thought I wouldn't noticed? Anyway, obviously I would never, ever come here again after this, and I'm disgusted with the whole crew there. Other shops have better technicians so there's no way I'll ever be back to this sketchy place. I would recommend anyone thinking of taking their car here to ask themselves if it's worth the risk. I frequently have an infant in my car, and I can't believe these guys tried to save a few bucks by using worn out parts, after I'm already approaching a 5 figure repair job. read more

I rarely leave review here unless I have to. Decided to give it a try even after knowing there is a change of ownership. As some customers pointed out, It feels that the experience and service has gone south. The lady (Ivy) was unprofessional (she can only go by the book like a robot), and I would describe, very hard to understand, causing unnecessary confusion and frustration. You can also feel that the new owner (including the lady) are not flexible to work with. Keep in mind the new owner is doing smog business for living, not maintenance/repair business. When I worked with Ming, things were explained to me very clearly, but this is definitely not the case with the new owner. It feels they are just going after your purse. Now, here comes the deal breaker and this can be subjective depending on what needs to be replaced/fixed. A quote given to me for battery replacement $330/$230 (main/aux aftermarket parts) + $380 (labor for a 2-hour job, $190/hr). Are you kidding me? The quote offered by the MB dealerships in the neighborhood (original MB parts, NOT aftermarket) cost less and with no hassle nor drama. Just think about the labor cost and hours the new owner (Joe) charges for a modest job like battery replacement. Please do not tell me it's a complicated thing to do. Everything has to be within reason. But this is getting too far. They exaggerated and stretched the labor time needed to complete a modest job. Same thing for another quote given to me about another part (blower unit) for $1600 (including a 2.5 hr labor). I don't know what else to say, but I believe most people here miss Ming for his professional quality of work and ethics. It has been 5 years since I posted my original review of this business. It continues to be absolutely flawless providing excellent service for my now 26 year old C-230K. My interactions with Raymond have been wonderful. They are always absolutely clear about what needs to be done. A side mirror that needed replacing last year was done in a professional manner at a good price. Other major service (e.g., engine mounts replacement) was done quickly and professionally. This is the ONLY place i will take my C63 to be serviced. Raymond is the man! Let me give you a couple of examples... A while back one of my sway bar linkages in the front failed, so i brought it in to get replaced and the car was ready in a couple hours. 2 days later, i heard some rattling around the front. Thinking that it may be related to the recent job, I called Raymond & he said "bring it in whenever you can" - no appointment, just whenever was convenient. So I dropped off the car & uber'ed to work. Raymond called me a couple hours later and said car was ready for pick up. Turns out something got caught in the gravel shield & loosened it to a point where it was flapping around. When i came to pick up the car, i was prepared to pay for the diagnosis & repair since it was totally unrelated to the previous job, but there was no charge. Sweet! Example 2: I got a "Check oil level at next re-fueling" message (non-scheduled message). So i bought the car in for an oil change. Raymond checked it out & determined that it just needed to be topped off & since A2 service was scheduled in 80 days, to just do the oil change then. Kudos for not doing unnecessary work (which he could have charged for ) Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying to expect free stuff - What i AM saying is you can expect that they will care for the CUSTOMER as well as the car. This is an honest shop and i believe it's businesses like this that should be rewarded and highlighted - which is why i'm writing this review. I will be a loyal customer for a long time. Have only had amazing experiences with this place: got my car towed here, and they were really helpful in our decision not to pursue further repairs, and super fair in charging us for the kind of service that we obtained. All in all, really extremely helpful, kind, patient and attentive throughout. As good as it gets is an understatement. Ming and Raymond have taken care of 2 of my cars for years (and they even helped me pick out my SLK350 which has rarely needed more than regular maintenance for 3+ years). Terrible service. the prior owner was very professional and friendly. However, everything went south when the new owner took over. I did my last annual service at this place after they changed the ownership. Oil change was done as part of that service. Surprisingly, they didn't change the oil filter. My check engine light was on a couple of months later and the diagnosis pointed to the oil filter issue. I ended up with extra time and diagnosis costs. But when I talked to the owner, he denied the whole thing. This place should be avoided. Your luxury Mercedes deserves a much better service! read more

I dropped off our CLK with Ming (the owner) and Raymond on July 27, 2015 for our B service. After talking with them the week before we wisely scheduled an appointment as they are very busy. Per Ming's recommendation we decided to first just start with the A. Order of events: 4pm dropped off car 5:15pm courtesy call from Raymond with update 10am next day courtesy call from Ming with update on service 4:15pm next day pick up car Through out the whole process Ming and Raymond walked us through everything and were so professional. I felt like royalty the way we were treated. You can tell that they are there to take care of their customers. We will be back next year for our next scheduled maintenance! I had a leak in my 2004 C-class. I stopped by and they figured out the problem right away - the engine compartment drains were clogged and leaking into the cabin. Better yet, they fixed it for me on the spot and charged me almost nothing. A month later, I banged my rear view mirror backing out of my garage. I thought the mirror was busted and needed to be replace- it was twisted around and there were wires hanging out. But again I dropped by this place with no appointment and they reconnected the wires and straightened out the mirror, which took about 15 minutes, and this time they didn't charge me. Wow! This is my second time here and both experiences have been fantastic. I had service B this time and I was a little short this week so they worked with me on everything, I even had 2 nails in one of my tire that was slowing losing air and they patched it up for me juts to make sure I was safe when driving. The quote was a great quote and when I arrived to pay the quote was even lower than what the great quote was and basically threw in the tire patch for free. I started coming here in 2013 when I moved to Sunnyvale, and now that I live in San Jose, I still come back for Ming's expertise. Ming is friendly, fair, practical, and knowledgeable. I first came for a second opinion based on a long list of repairs that another shop was encouraging me to pursue. Ming asked me a few questions, then looked under the hood and made it clear that most of the repairs were unnecessary at this time. I have stopped by a few times since with small problems (squeaky steering wheel, check my belt before a long trip, etc) and he is always able to see me within 15 minutes of my spontaneous arrival, and often gives me top offs of fluid with a refusal of payment. Came in at 12:20pm for a Service A0 schedule - no phone calls, just wanting to see if they could fit me in since I was 400 miles over the required service. Raymond was simply a 5-start player in making sure I could get my car back by today (3:55pm to be exact) and even offered either an Uber or himself to bring me back to the office. That's quality worthy of a high-end hotel or restaurant, found at a humble mechanic shop. Fantastic! Everyone knows European cars charge a sh#tl@ad of $$$ for services, but they offer the exact opposite. Prices were incredibly generous and honest with everything they do. I truly want to give them a fantastic review and hope others that are in need of service of their vehicles to come to them. They are simply what auto mechanics should be. Raymond and Ming are fantastic folks who really, really know their Mercedes inside and out. I usually drive all the way to SF to get my car looked at. I was mildly interested in finding somewhere closer to home. I had come in to Mercedes Service of MV few months ago, because I thought my breaks were squeaking a little more than they should. Ming took a look, and told me they were fine and sent me on my way. He was right, things were fine. Fast forward to this morning when my check engine light suddenly came on and my car was puttering away. Ming and his staff are SUPER professional, responsive and reliable.(I would rate it at 6 stars if I could) Ming helped me identified the car light alert (free of charge) and came up with the right treatment for my Mercedes SLK280, he wasn't the cheapest but definitely a reasonable price, I choose him over others as he was patient enough to go over all the details and offered several of options to fix my car , my feeling was that I can trust him and that he truly fix what's needed at a reasonable price with no overcharges at the end (he actually charged me less than I expected as he found that some of the parts were in good condition and weren't needed to be replaced) My second experience was even better when I thought that I have oil leak and it end up with minor fix at minor cost THANK YOU Ming!!! read more
