They were polite, however not competent with their job. I have a suv that is a federal vehicle which had obd2 compliant cats installed. These cats were correct for my year, make and model. They said my cats were wrong because the "family number" was incorrect. Rather than leaving it at that, they failed my smog and flagged me to the state referee! It takes over a month and many steps to get an actual appointment with the state referee, which by this time my tags are now expired. When i show up to the state ref to explain my issue ,they tell me that" I should have never been failed/flagged and the smog shop didnt know what they were doing". They handed me a print-out which had a highlighted section explaining that: family numbers on a federal Vehicle will not match any obd2 cat. Moral of the story is that this shops Incompetence set me on an Unnecessary wild goose chase. read more

I went here out of convenience of location, since I waited until the last minute and didn't have time to go to a cheaper place I'd usually go to. I got a coupon for $20 off a smog check off their website, but it was still more expensive than some of the deals I had seen online. However, it's was definitely worth it! I made an appointment and was in and out of there in 10 minutes. The car didn't pass, and they really worked with us after that to get it to pass. Each time, they were very quick to do the check (with no appointment) and it was super nice to not have to sit and wait around for a long time like at some of the other places I've gone in the past. I made an appointment to take my dads truck in last week and this was my first time doing business with Smog King. The online appointment scheduling was convenient and easy (1,2,3). I arrived at my appointment time and was greeted timely by a very nice gentleman. He took my coupon, keyed all the necessary info into the database, and was off to work on my vehicle. In about 10 to 15 minutes it was all done. I paid the bill ($68.00), received my certificate, and was on my way. Great customer service, quick and fast and very professional. The waiting area is clean, very cool inside and they even have water and coffee for their customers. This cost was $10 more than the other place I usually go, but for service like this it's worth the extra $10.00 cost. Just went in this past weekend to get my newly purchased '77 Eldorado smogged-both employees working were super friendly and helpful and even gave me some helpful hints to help ensure my car would run as nicely as possible to further my chances of passing. During the test they even let me go back in their shop and watch and they explained to me what all they're looking at and shared their knowledge of cars by recommending some stuff I should address with my new toy! At first I was excited to come and do business with smog king. I did not mind paying their high price point because of the convenience. Retest and price was an issue but I was fine to overlook that. The day of my appointment, I was held back in a meeting I called right after (30 minutes later) to see if it was okay to still go. The gentlemen which answered was very accommodating and I moved my appointment an hour later. As I was driving to drop off the vehicle I wanted to call and confirm that they could smog my vehicle. It is a tricky vehicle because it is old and aircooled. So you actually need to do some leg work for the smog process. When I called a younger man answered I asked if I could verify to be sure on the vehicle. He immediately said "you can not rescheduled again! This is your third time to reschedule" I was thrown back in regards to his tone and being extremely disrespectful and in professional. I felt like a child trying to explain my self to him about the circumstance and I apologies for rescheduling once. I told him that I did not know why we're were arguing and I felt very blindsided by his comments. After I mentioned that I felt disrespected he said that he did not know why... are you serious!? Then I think he did realize how he was addressing me and mentioned that it does take longer to smog an older car and that they do not like to bookend another car. I mentioned that his comment that he just said was all he needed to say and not bash me and question me and request justification why I rescheduled. I am now concerned that they would not pass my older vehicle because of this issue I had with this young person. So I turned around and asked him to cancel my appointment. I would never recommend this spot because of the lack of customer service, high prices and no retesting... convince only goes a little bit of the way. Sorry for the one star. read more

Great folks. My car had system SES light need to be reset after a minor accident, and as a result had to revisit a number of times in order to get tested. These folks have gone well beyond any expectation to make sure I had information I need to get my car to pass, including providing me with information on a number of service and safety recalls on my car. DO NOT SMOG HERE! My first review was amazing, i went in it was quick and the staff was friendly. I even took their business cards and handed them out to friends and family. AND DO I REGRET THAT. After a month and a half of waiting for my tags.. i went to the DMV to see what the problem was. Well, SMOG KING you totally f***** me. They submitted my wrong VIN number, basically passing smog on a car i never brought it. (They even got the car year wrong... even though i provided them with all my DMV paperwork) Okay, accidents happen. I took a day off work to figure this all out. They resmogged my car (as expected) and I asked for a refund (as any DECENT customer service would have provided me with. Considering its illegal what they did, I lost over 150$ from missing work to go through all this trouble, and wasted hours driving and standing around at the DMV to the smog place then to AAA back to the DMV.) I met with the owner of Smog King who is an ASSHOLE. I actually don't know how he is a successful business owner. He laughed in my face, repeatedly told me it was MY FAULT for his staff miss reading the VIN NUMBER on my vehicle. Long story short, he through $25.00 cash at me in the parking lot and basically said F u.( I spent $60 some dollars originally) I am reporting them to BAR and the DMV. read more

Highly recommend. Took my truck in for a "for sale" smog and it passed but monitors weren't ready so no SMOG Cert. The guy told me what was wrong with the monitors not being ready and told me where and how to drive to clear them. I was worried I wouldn't make it in time before the close as they closed an hour from time of test. He assured me no rush and he would stay open late for me to get everything taken care of. I showed back up with the evap monitor not ready and he plugged in his tool and said "you're good to go" and they only charged $14 the second time! First was $50.75 with a coupon.
