I brought my wife's car for a Smog test on a Saturday morning. Although I was a walk-in I was the only customer. I didn't get much of a chance to browse the magazines in the lobby because the smog test took all of 15 minutes! For me, this is probably the fastest smog test I've ever had! Price wise, it seems a bit pricier than other places, but the Yelp check-in gives a good discount and for sheer speed, it's hard to beat! Unlike most car places, this place was on time, fast and efficient! I had a 930 appointment and as soon as I showed up at 9:28 they were ready to take my car in. It was done within 10 minutes and I was back on the road. On my way back home. Nice guys working on the cars and checking me in. As none of us have a lot of time to sit around and wait to get a job done and done right the first time, I highly recommend this place, and before today, I have never had a smog check that I was in an out in a total of about 12 minutes. Great place was great to work with. While they do take walk-ins if there are open times, but I recommend you should make an appointment, especially on a weekend, as they can get very busy. I was able to make one for the same day (Sunday) using their website. The technician, Chris, was great to work with. The shop had a full schedule, and he was able to remain friendly and pleasant while coordinating all the appointments. Tried to beat the crowd so I arrived 15 minutes before the opened. Martin was already there setting up shop at 7:45AM. We started the paperwork a few minutes later. Smog King is five stars for me. Booking an appointment is so easy. Just go on their website and select a time. I was even lucky to book the same day! Once I arrived at this location I was welcomed by Chris. He asked for my DMV paperwork, ID and mileage number and that was it. No paperwork to fill out for once. From there I gave the keys and he was done in 10 minutes! If you go anywhere else they would tell you 20-40 minutes, but not here. Loved that I was in and out of this place. They have a waiting area inside or outside. It's pretty cold so I opted to wait inside. After he checks your car, he'll let you know if you passed the smog test or if you didn't. Thankfully I passed! Haha then they'll send everything to the DMV so all you're left to do is pay for the registration. Woo hoo. Overall, great service and I'll be sure to come back in 2 years. I had several smog test fliers/coupons in my hand, and while Yelping to find "the best one" with two requirements (best price and best service), I was horrified to find several of them got poor reviews. Thankfully, Smog King was one of the fliers. I saw that although Smog King is not the cheapest, they got rated well for service and speed. I called at 9am on a Tuesday and was told there was no wait at the time. I showed up shortly after, and within 15 minutes, Martin (I think that was his name) was done. Painless. A fair warning - they do charge a bit more, and like all other places SUV's also get charged an extra fee, BUT the service is fast and honest. Yelp has a check-in offer for them, but the flier that comes in the mail gives a deeper discount. read more

I came from another station where they failed me because the cat converter was replaced and he said the new one had no number on it. My husband went to try to get a Smog Test at this place and he couldn't find a place to park so he parked next to another car that was there and the person who worked there just yelled at him telling him to move his car. He then rolled down his window to say "I just need to ask a question" as he wanted to know whether he had time for a smog check to go try to find a parking spot somewhere but rather than telling him something like "I'm waiting on another customer, could you please move your car and I can help as soon as I'm done with this person" or something like that, he replied "I don't care". Even a lady, who was a customer, approached my husband and just said "oh, he is helping someone right now" since she heard how rude th person sounded. Needless to say, he just drove away and went to another shop to get his smog check, where he was able to get the smog done quickly and was treated respectfully. Any business that tells a customer "I don't care" is really telling on how they feel about their customers. I would always send my son to get smog tests done here for all of our cars, which is why I told my husband to go here but we will not be returning that's for sure. read more
