After nearly going to the other nearby smog check place (good thing I checked Yelp first!), I decided to go to Smog Masters instead, and I'm very glad I did! I called first to see if the coupon on the website would be honored without being printed out, and after asking me the name and model of my vehicle, the owner said yes and quoted me $40 total. I showed up a few minutes later, and found myself at a small little shop with a very personable, friendly owner who got the smog check taken care of quickly, and had me on my way within 20 minutes or so. There was no nonsense with extra fees or anything, the bill was exactly the amount he quoted me over the phone, and I left happy. I have been going to a different place for years, and never felt that service was good and neither was the price even though they would apply "coupon" to my test for being a returning customer. The Smog Master is close to my home but I have never considered going here (silly me). Well, one day I needed the test and did not want to go to the old place so I came here. What a pleasant surprise. The guy is great, went extra steps to make sure my car passes the test and has also given me a discount which was much less than at the old test station. The $40 test included testing and certificate. Most shops will charge about $45-60. To get the low price, you must mention the Yelp ad or screenshot the coupon. Great service all-around. Mr A was very friendly, professional, honest, and efficient in testing my 2 cars. Each test took less than 25 minutes. He even took care of a corroded battery terminal in one of my cars after noticing it. Very pleasant to talk to whether about life or business. One of the reasons I liked this shop was because he didn't charged me a higher fee for my Honda SUV. He charged me only $40 each for my Mercedes sedan and Honda SUV. Two years ago, a different smog shop charged me extra $10 because it was a SUV . I recommend to get your car tested on a weekday afternoon, not on a weekend, to avoid waiting.
