Took my 2003 Oldsmobile Alero to get a smog check and title transfer. A 20yr old "manager" says I failed the visual snap test. Mind you it is November 25th, cold, wet and nasty outside, my own breathe comes out as exhaust. The visual test is purely subjective. They recommend local mechanics to look at vehicle for a fee of course then failed me again. I went to another mechanic and had a detailed bumper to bumper diagnostic to find out that nothing is wrong with my car. I take it to another smog spot, Horizon Smog in Citrus Heights and passed no problems it is now Feb. and the weather is warmer. Morale of the story is this specific Smog n Go is inexperienced and has a Hustle in place. The Customer Service was horrible and disrespectful even to a Disabled Combat Veteran on a limitied budget. As advertised. They have multiple bays going so it went very fast. Even the people that arrive after me when all slots were full, their cars were started on while my paperwork was completed. Price is competitive with any other smog shop. They offer the DMV registration on-site, but other than a sign posted, it wasn't mentioned to me. That's a good thing because it's a hefty price for the convenience, and other shops tend to be pushy about the service. read more

I have used this place many times. It seems as though recently that there isn't a focus customer service. And let's be honest, with smog stations a dime a dozen, you would think they'd bend over backwards to ensure this happens. My wife and MIL came here last week and were treated rudely when he belts were squeaking and needed be replaced. Instead of kindly letting them know, they belittled them and made them feel unsafe and uncomfortable. We got it fixed, so I brought it back to see if anything changed. While there were no problems, but I was able to pick out the guy who provided the bad service. While waiting for my car, he was short, rude and unappreciative to the 3-4 customers who came in while I was waiting. Safe to say I will be finding a new place to take our cars from this point forward. read more

These guys are fast, fair priced and courteous. I have used them a few times and each time has been seamless except for my last trip. I sent my wife in to get her new used car smogged while I was at work. They denied to pass the vehicle because they lacked the knowledge of what a factory performance intake system looked like and misinterpreted it for a tampered system. when I went back they gladly listened to my explanation of the part....took the extra time to research it...provided cold water for me and had me in amd out passed in 10 minutes free of charge. I was slightly irritated because each time we went in my wide first and then me...we had our 7 month old daughter and coupled with the time I wasted having to go back for something a second time that I should not have had to do. Yet...in the end they went above and beyond, were courteous, and also apologetic. So in my book they get 4 stars for the effort and manner in which they handled this. read more

they were fast, pleasant and helpful doing my smog check and sending the info to the DMV so I could renew my registration that same day. clean place and I would go back when I need another smog or recommend it to others. not sure if it's a good deal as I had not had to take a car to get smogged in over 6 years, don't remember the price but it seemed pretty average. read more

Outstanding. I've never been able to say that about a business before. I didn't pass, but the technician explained what was wrong, and when i went to fix it, I found that the broken hose had a bright orange ribbon marker on it. It was unexpected and appreciated. read more

I drove out of my way to visit this particular location because of the great reviews and I was very glad I did. The two employees I dealt with were incredibly polite and helpful. Effortless transaction - will definitely drive out of my way again to Rocklin next time. Best SmogNGo I've used. It may be a chain but they are not equal in customer service. Rocklin is the best. These guys were great! I showed up at 8:30 on a Saturday morning and was walking out at 9:05am; quick, courteous service, can't beat it! Definitely a bit more expensive than other smog places, however, not having to require an appointment to get smogged was worth it to me. read more

I waited until the last minute to smog my Land Cruiser and dropped in to see if i could get a quick smog. These guys were very friendly and had me out in 15ish minutes. Nice show guys! They sent my info to DMV and i was off to sell more wine! read more

If you're car is modified in any way(supercharger, turbo, etc) these people will not have a clue. Take it somewhere else! I had a totally legal in California supercharger installed by the factory and they would not pass it simply because of the supercharger. It passed the actually smog test but they would not issue a certificate. I've had the car smogged every other year since 2005 with the supercharger installed. read more
