    Excellent service from staff!!! Crazy high fees.... Not worth the fee charged. Be sure you shop around...

    Yelp Review 2023 #319:…read more I've been going to Mr. Smog to get my annual smog check for the good ol' DMV for the past 3 years. They're right next to a gas station and Viva Zapata's. They have 2 service lanes and the times I've been here, I'm always the only customer which is great for me. The old place I went to in Aliante has a Starbucks next to it and it was a pain in the you know what. And that's how I ended up finding this place - and not the many times I've been to Viva Zapata's. I'm giving 4 stars for the first 2 years I've had my smog check done here and not the most recent visit. The first two visits were flawless. I handed them my little postcard from DMV, I step out of my car and they take care of the rest: smog check and registration renewal. Quick and hassle-free process. My last visit, I pulled up, handed the young man my DMV postcard and I stepped out of the car. He asked me for my car key which was still in the ignition. He did the smog check gave me my paper and told me the amount for the smog check. I asked him "can you do my registration renewal" and he said "no". I told him I've been getting my renewal done with my smog check for the last 2 years I've been here. His reply: "our services are temporarily down." Whatever. I paid. As I was pulling out of the service lane, my car wouldn't reverse. I checked the e-brake and it wasn't that. The guy forgot to take his little contraption from behind my wheel! So, I stepped out of my car and told him. Next year, I'll do a drive by and if it's the same dude working here, I'll go to Aliante.

I replaced the alternator, lower control arms, and something else I can't remember. The car eventually gave out and I had to get a new car. This is where I started having problems. I purchased, through Carmax, a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander. I took it there to be check just to make sure there were no hidden problems. They told me something needed to be replaced and it was going to cost a few thousand but I could use my extended warranty through Carmax. I was still within me 90 days so I took it back to Carmax. They said there was nothing wrong with it and I didn't have any problems. I couldn't get into Carmax to get an oil change done before going on a trip to California so I took my car in here. They did the oil change but it wasn't accelerating like normal. I took the car back and they insisted that everything was okay. I took my car in for another oil change to Carmax and my car is driving like normal. I don't now if they placed the filter wrong or what they did but I will never go back.

Gregg made every effort imaginable to try and fix the item right then and there. Once he determined a new part was needed, he went over everything thoroughly with me and completed all the paperwork before handing me off the Kevin in parts to complete the final step.     My service person was R. Lopez. I scheduled an oil change after receiving a text from the…read moredealership saying my vehicle was due for service. I chose a 5:30 p.m. appointment and drove about 30 minutes to arrive on time. When I got there, I was told I might need to leave the car overnight, even though I had been encouraged to bring it in because the oil change could be completed quickly at the end of the day. The representative made it seem as though they were doing me a favor by staying late, even though I had scheduled an available appointment and arrived on time. After I got the car back, the gauges suggested the oil had not been changed. The service director reviewed the camera footage with me, and thankfully it appeared the oil change had been completed. I appreciated that he checked, but I should not have had to verify the work that way. My bigger concern was the tire. I brought the vehicle in partly because I suspected a slow leak, and I specifically raised that concern. At first, I was told there was no puncture. After a second review, however, they found a puncture and determined that the tire needed to be replaced. That was exactly what I had been worried about. I am grateful to the parts and service director for taking the concern seriously, reviewing the situation, and having the vehicle checked again. At the same time, I am extremely frustrated that the service staff initially would have let me drive away with a faulty tire. I am driving to California next week, and the tire concern was one of the main reasons I brought the vehicle in. To their credit, management eventually addressed the issue. Still, the overall experience left me feeling dismissed, inconvenienced, and concerned about the initial quality of the service review. I expected clearer communication, better follow-through, and more care with a safety issue.
