I love convenience. This is why every year, I go to Ralphs in Brea to renew my auto registration at the automated DMV kiosk. They charge a small fee but I would rather pay that than to wait for my sticker in the mail. However, last week when I went to renew my registration, I realized I had to do a smog check in order to complete the process. W H A T!?!?! I panicked because I have never gotten a smog check before AND my registration was literally due in a days. I paid for the fees and went right on to Yelp to start my search. There were many places through out the SGV and OC around me, all had very reasonable prices. However, not all of them were opened on Sundays. I was already on my way to Rowland Heights to run some errands so I decided to stop by Smog Test Only Discount Center nearby just to see if they would accept walk ins. Thank Goodness they were opened until 2pm and only had 1 customer before me. The total time spent was approximately 30 minutes and total cost was $55 (accepts Cash, CC, Zelle). Maria helped me and she was SO nice! I am not sure if I may need another smog check anytime soon, but I do plan on referring friends and family here if they ever need one. Bonus: They offer hair cut services as well. Not sure if it is for me but I can totally see men getting a buzz cut here while they wait. read more

When you drive into the lot, it's located on the farthest right. Manny did my star certified smog check for $49 if you pay in cash. $50 if you pay with card. The Yelp coupon only works for regular smog check. He did a really great job checking my car. Service was fast and professional. I got everything done in 20 minutes. The only downside is that he forgot to give me back the paperwork so I had to drive back there and pick it up. So make sure you receive all the docs back before you go. I needed an smog in order to renew my registration. I saw online they can do both so I figured I'd just do it here to save time. I was in and out probably within 20 minutes doing a smog and my registration renewal. The guy helping me was nice and I have no complaints about that. Only thing I have to say is they charge a service fee of $30 when renewing your tags and 2% of your total in order to use your card so I paid an extra $8 just to be able to pay with my card. You will save money going to the DMV but if you have money to spend and would rather knock it out all in one stop then I recommend coming here. read more

Seeing these other reviews on here, I guess I'm not the only one who thinks the employees here are rude. I DO NOT appreciate being yelled at the moment I pull in, or at all for that matter. Trying to be considerate, I pulled into a parking spot to not block the front of the shop. I can see an asian dude standing watching me already from my rearview. The moment I stepped out I was already displeased with his tone of voice yelling for me to move my car inside. No hello and welcome. No smile. Just an aggravated look on his face... I stayed only because I had a coupon for (what I thought) was a good deal. They seriously trap you by never letting you talk. Just a whole bunch of demands -- Move car here! Turn on your car! Customer service is sorely lacking. He even yelled at me for accidentally turning off my car when I stepped out due to habit. When I confronted him he swears he wasn't yelling. News flash, YES YOU WERE. The owner, or guy behind the counter, wasn't that pleasant neither. I guess I had misunderstood the coupon I found. It stated $29 for a smog check, but my total came out to $40. Guess it didn't include the certificate and ETF fee. So the standard price for a smog inspection is $59??? Also, thanks for underlining the fact I misread when I already stated that myself. That snark comment was unnecessary. Go anywhere else and standard is $40 even without a coupon. Trust me, I called 7 shops before I went here. The coupon was useless, so don't go here with hopes of saving a few bucks. You won't. You will also walk out with your day ruined.
