This place has awesome service it took me them less than 15 mins to do the whole smog test. I was there with a car ahead of me but it still took a short period of time. Very good service from them I would definitely return and recommend it to anyone I know. read more

At the risk of repeating all the other reviews, suffice it to say that this is go-to smog station in the San Fernando Valley. Kind and gracious service where you will be treated with respect and your car will have the best opportunity to pass that dreaded once-every-two-years exam. True, it's not like taking the bar exam but for your car, if it could talk, it may be just as anxiety-provoking. read more

Super quick and painless. Having to get a smog check is kind of a drag, but these guys make it easy. I was in and out in about 20 minutes. The guys working there are very nice and happy to chat with you. They take care of sending the information to the DMV electronically, so all you have to do is pay your registration. I didn't even know about the check-in deal where you get $15 off for checking in on Yelp while you're there, but they told me about it while I was waiting and gave me the deal! I have done 2 smog checks (my wife's car and my own) here and the service is absolutely the best. Haik at Smog Zone is very friendly and matter-of-fact and really makes sure you understand what is going on with your car and makes suggestions when possible on how to save the most money. He warned me that with my readings, in 2 years from now, my car is not likely to pass again and will likely require an intensive cleaning of my engine's intake manifold. While that's not the greatest news to hear, I'd certainly rather know than not and will not hesitate to return to Smog Zone! read more

I needed to get a smog certificate in order to renew my registration for my Prius. I went to Smog Zone where I was warmly greeted by the owners Dad, Armen. A few moments later the owner, Haik came by introduced himself. He was very friendly and did the inspection and passed my vehicle in less then 10 minutes, while I waited. In a day when customer service is a lost art, these guys really reminded me of what QUALITY customer service is all about. I highly recommend Smog Zone for your Smog certification services, Ira M. Had to take my mom's car to smogged by a STAR center. I have a guy, but just realized he's not STAR certified..I never knew there was 2 different types! So I turned to yelp to find a certified STAR center near my job. Low and behold, there many within a 5 mile radius. I'm glad I went with smog zone, all the reviews seem to be spot on. I was in and out within 10 minutes and the guy was really nice. Make sure you end up at smog zone I turned into the driveway next door, because there were all these arrows pointing to that place. Look at the pictures on yelp to see the front to make sure your in the right place. read more

My '04 RSX-s needed to be smogged for registration renewal. A good buddy of mine had recently gotten his car smogged and told me he came here. I looked this place up and was sold by the reviews on his experience and knowledge of cars, in addition to hi quick and friendly service. So I came in one morning, and the reviews did not lie. Haik was really friendly and after a quick conversation I could tell he was not some amateur smog shop owner. I highly recommend you bring any of your cars here: exotic, daily commuter, classic/vintage, etc. He also has the latest tech so that cars 2000 and ^ don't need to be on the dyno. His system reads all your codes through the OBD-II. Not mention when he says that it will take about 10-15, he doesn't say that to keep the customer happy, he really means it. He got me in and out of there. read more

Haik's the man. I've been coming here since '06 from the first time I had to smog my 00 truck. He's always been professional, courteous and fast. Never had to wait, has enough space to accommodate you both inside and parking. Support your local small business!!! True, it's never fun getting a smog check. It's painful watching a stranger rev your engine, burning precious gasoline, and adding unnecessary wear-and-tear to your front tires. All for what? A bill for $60 and a stupid certificate that says you're now allowed to spend a hundred additional bucks (or more) to register your car. Here's the good news. Smog Zone is awesome. Friendly and fast. Got me in and out, and even explained everything on my smog check to me. Thankfully I only need to get my smog check done every two years. But let's just say, I'm excited about 2015 when I get to see these guys again. They earned my business!!!! read more

I went to Smog Zone after reading the positive Yelp reviews. There was one car ahead of me, and Haik got my car in right after it was done, which wasn't more than 10 minutes. The smog check for my car was quick and easy, and Haik was fun to talk to during the whole thing. I highly recommend him and his shop, and will return again for my next smog check! read more

Jack immediately greeted me, told me it would be about 15 minutes, and invited me to wait inside while I paid my DMV registration online. The office is currently being updated, but it was clean, smelled fresh, and had plenty of seating. By the time I finished my registration, my car was already being prepared for service. Jack has been in business since the 1980s and at this location for the last 10 years, and you can tell he knows his stuff. He was friendly, funny, and easy to talk to. Yelp sent my request to five smog shops, and Jack was the first to respond and had the best pricing. He even took the time to explain what a "Star certified smog" meant when another shop said they weren't. Quick, stress-free, and great customer service. Getting your car smogged a pleasant experience? Actually yes! We just moved into the neighborhood and its always a hassle trying to wade through the incredible number of shady mechanics and car services until you find one you can trust. Usually along the way you find jerks, smooth talkers, idiots and sleaze balls. Lucky for me I found these guys through Yelp and was pleasantly surprised to find that all the great reviews were right on the mark. The gentleman working there was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and fast. Unlike some garages where you feel like getting a root canal might be more comfortable than being there, this place has a family run, neighborhood feel that makes you feel that you are in good hands. In fact, as I was talking to the guy, I found out that his dad actually runs a full garage right across the street. From now on, not only will I be getting any smog checks done here but I think I have found a garage for oil changes and any work I need done. Highly recommended! read more

Super fast, great service, no hassle, excellent operation. There is no doubt Smog Zone Van Nuys is the place to get a smog check done. I took my 2004 Honda civic there for a smog test on a Saturday, and was in and out in under half an hour. The owner, Haik, is extremely knowledgeable and has been in the business for over a decade. Very friendly, great service, and the price is great. You can plan your day knowing when you come to this operation, you won't be held up for hours waiting for your smog test to be done. Honest people in any business are hard to come by - but you can tell that the owners of this business are good people and are not trying to scam anyone. They got me in and out fast! I was looking on Yelp for a smog testing facility in my neighborhood, and found myself consistently put off by either the reviews or low ratings. I was thinking that I might have to settle for a less than pleasant experience when I finally came across Smog Zone. Like I said, they got me in and out fast. I was maybe there 10 minutes, and that includes the time I waited for them to finish checking a vehicle they had been testing when I arrived. They finished my test only a few minutes after I had filled out the paperwork. They were polite, quick and I plan to use them the next time I need a smog test. You don't have to settle for less than good service. Go to Smog Zone! read more

This is the place I go every time I need to get a smog test. The man who runs the business is so friendly and so nice, and so professional. And since the move (they used to be located across the street), it's actually even better, because there is much more room now, and it's easier to get in and out. There is now a small parking lot, so if you have to wait, it's no big deal. That being said, I've never had to wait. And if you call ahead, he'll let you know how busy he is, and when the best time to come in is. This is the sort of place that I prefer to give my business to, because it has that personal touch that I appreciate. One last thing: the chairs in the waiting area are really comfortable. read more

I have been going to Smog Zone for years now, and every time, it has been a great experience. This is my second review for these guys. I have been to other places in the past and these guys by far are the best. Haik and his staff have always been friendly, professional, efficient, and very informative. They have all the latest equipment and know what they are doing. I wouldn't want to go to anyone else. I know there is another smog business that is opening next door from them offering cheaper coupons, but I trust Smog Zone and would rather go where I know it will be done right. read more

I needed a smog so i was calling around trying to find a good deal. All these places i called were giving me the run around and charging way too much. Then the places that had reasonable prices were charging hidden fees. I found smog zone on this site and called. The owner quoted me a reasonable price and promised no hidden fees or charges. I went and got my smog done there and he charged the price as quoted. He is very friendly, fast, and efficient. He even give helpfull tips on how to maintain your car. I highly recommend smog zone. Haik has been taking care of our old mitsubishi for years. He is so good with cars that he knows exactly what's wrong before we even take the test so we can fix it and not waste our money doing a smog test we might fail. He is always honest, forthright and looking out for your best interest. I live in Marina Del Rey and would rather drive all the way to see Haik than waste my $$ anywhere with people who aren't as thorough or caring. These guys are as legit as it gets. I had 2 cars ahead of me and was in and out in 30 minutes. Great guy and very professional. The shop is clean and air conditioned on the inside. Parking was crowded and the owner Haik accomodated a space for me. I suggest anyone that needs to be in and out and on with thier day come to this shop! They also are DMV designated registrars so you can actually take care of the whole registration process at the shop and recieve your tags on the spot! Will def take advantage of this next time around! read more

I went to a different shop and they told me my vehicle needed a few hundred dollars in repair. So i had a second to look at it , the previous shop told that the timing was off, so i brought my car here and they took a look at the vehicle and it turns out there was nothing wrong with the car. they didn't just save me money they saved me the hassle of looking for another smog place in the future i couldn't be anymore pleased with the results. If you want to save time and money come check them out they are nice and friendly. read more

I went to Smog Zone today @ 14125 Oxnard Street in the city of Van Nuys. My first time being there and I have to say I am happy to have found a new smog place. In the past I have had bad customer service, long wait time or just lazy people to do my smog. Haik @ Smog zone was very friendly and seemed to know exactly what he was doing. Great Service,high energy and Knowledgeable guys over @ smog zone. I will be going back to only this spot. I also will be telling all my friends and family about this place. Ask for Haik . read more

Haik could not have been more professional. I called twice before going in and both times he answered with a friendly, warm greeting. Haik was prepared when I showed up and took my car immediately. Because my car is older, he requested that I give him a heads up before arriving so that he could set up the special equipment for its' testing. I was in and out in no time and even though my car passed, he took the time to explain the test results to me. What a guy. Oh, and the place was clean and comfortable. read more

Had to go to the DMV to get my car registered for CA (I just moved here) and found out that I needed a smog test. I located this place on yelp and decided to stop by since it wans't far from the DMV. All of the reviews were true. It took the young man 15 min (or less) to do the test and get me on my way. Cost was $50 and the most difficult part was actually finding the entrance (it is in the middle of a strip of shops). When I have to get the smog renewal, I will be going back here for sure. read more

It was finally time to smog my Lamborghini Murcielago, and with my busy schedule I needed it done promptly. When looking for a smog station, I wanted to avoid being overcharged just because my car is a Lamborghini and not a Honda. After all, a smog is a smog. The work is the same. I stumbled upon Smog Zone, and Haik quoted me a lot cheaper than other places, even for my Lamborghini. He did a quick job, took care in his work, and was very informative. Overall, very pleased. I have a tercel which needed to pass a smog first I took it to my Machanic he said everything was good in it so I went to different smog places telling me that some things need to be fix trying to get extra money off me when I knew everything was fine in my car so I went here 2 days ago this guys are trustworthy good customer service and fast I strongly recommend this place other places were lying to me, i didn't have any problems here and my car passed the smog thanks guys read more

Unfortunately I knew nothing of Smog Zone when I drove in. If I had, I would have been going to them for a long time. Haik impressed me immediately. He is pleasant and professional. He made every effort to get me through quickly even though he had three cars ahead of me. One hour later, my car was ready. The building is clean and bright, and unlike other smog stations I didn't feel weird being there. Smog Zone is now my only smog check station! read more

I always dread receiving the DMV renewal that says "Please take this notice to a SMOG check station"! So, naturally, I put off going to get my car tested until just a few days before my renewal is due... luckily these guys are super nice and super efficient. I was in and out of their shop in about 30 minutes, with no appointment, and with two people ahead of me when I first arrived! Would absolutely come back here the next time I need a smog test. read more

Had never been to Smog Zone before, but my first experience there was a great one! I was due for a Smog Check and Haik helped me immediately, took care of everything, processed my DMV registration renewal and gave me my sticker, and did all of it very safely (with a mask on and a plexiglass wall up at the payment desk). It was a smooth and easy process, and then I was on my way back home. Would definitely recommend, and will return again! read more

To customer who is looking for a SMOG test check that has Shop-DMV online submission, SmogZone is the place: I was here this morning, 10/19/19. Haik is straight forward, i showed my DMV notice and took my car right away. Website says open at 9am, i arrived 8:50am done at 8:59am and pass! To Haik: Keep this kind of service man, not like others with blah blah blah and say need to fix something only to make money. Thumbs up to you Haik! read more

This place was recommeded by a friend. A bit difficult to spot, just west of Hazeltine on Oxnard, but fairly priced and nice people you could understand. Even though I had no wait, they've got a waiting area that you can view your car as it is getting tested!! Important to keep an eye out and for asking questions. Fairly priced after checking around with other locations. I had no coupon, so $60.00 I'll go back for next year's check! read more
