I've been a loyal customer and have spent a significant amount at your establishment over time--something your records or even my bank statements would confirm. Recently, I purchased a product that malfunctioned and made me feel unwell. When I requested a refund, I was informed that store policy prevents refunds for this type of product, as the store "can't take the loss." While I understand policies are in place for a reason, I believe customer service and loyalty should weigh heavily in these situations. As someone who values supporting local businesses and has consistently chosen to spend my money here, I'm disappointed by the lack of effort to make this right--even after reaching out directly. Transitioning into the CBD industry, thus being my first educational exchange, or so I had thought... instead I had an associate bark at me and get offended when I mentioned Marijuana being illegal in Chicago. His exact words: pot isn't illegal in chicago and it hasn't been for 5 years. You can fly in to ohare with pot and it isnt illegal- they can't do anything about. They can fine you but you can't go to jail. Decriminalized means it's not illegal. I didn't want to start anything with his know-it-all attitude. Instead, I humbled myself and kept his rant in the back of my head. After all, I've been spoiled with California laws, what do I know about legalities here. Well, the vape pen I purchased here by CBDLions crapped out, so I reached out to the CEO of the company. Now this guy was the treasure chest of CBD education and just marijuana laws in general as he has paved the way for Illinois lawmakers' push on CBD industry. He reaffirms, what I had already known, and displaced my feelings of uncertainty from the exchange with the associate at this smoke shop. Which is that: retroactive decriminalization has nothing to do with phasing out the term "illegal" for marijuana/THC; it is still illegal until next year. Just because they're more lax now, the fact that any cop on the street or TSA agent at ohare makes a stink about you having marijuana, doesn't mean that these people, are, as the associate said it, "ignorant on the law", as fact remains, marijuana is still illegal in Illinois. Period. Anyway, the african american dude in here seemed chill and broke the intense convo the other associate and I had. What a joke. A great place with a great selection. I try to make it there a few times a week just to talk to the people. They have an excellent array of Delta 8 THC which I hadn't heard of before going there, and is nice for switching things up. Highly reccomend checking them out if you're looking for quality pieces with nice thick glass. Their prices are beyond fair and they offer a rewards program if you plan on visiting regularly. I went in to buy a Posh disposable vape and i opened it while I was still in the store and it was all wet and covered in vape juice I told the owner (tall skinny white dude) and he insisted that it was normal and told me to just take it. I said ok but I'd be back if it didn't work. Of course, as soon as I got home the thing overheated and stopped working. I got maybe 4 good hits out of it. I went back in with the dead posh and explained to him what happened and that I wanted a replacement. He became visibly irritated and said that while he would replace it this time, the next time I'd have to go through the company bc it's not his problem. He then tried to say that they're called "disposables" because "some times this happens and you throw them away" which of course makes zero sense. Then he lectured me about leaving them in a hot car to make it seem like I had broke it. Again, I opened the new package in front of him and tried telling him that the product he sold me was broken before i left. So he gives me new one and it didn't overheat but it did go out in like 12 hours. This store probably selling old, defective disposables and then giving customers a hard time for returning them. Don't waste your money, there are so many other smoke shops in the area that value their customers. read more
