My husband was craving BBQ but I'm a vegetarian so finding a restaurant that suites us both can be challenging. Blue Smoke has vegan jack fruit BBQ tacos. I had not tried jack fruit before and was a bit wary. It was delicious and these tacos did not disappoint! I also had a salad, and sampled the baked beans and slaw, all excellent. The carnivores in the family really enjoyed the ribs and pulled pork. We will definitely be back to Blue Smoke on our next trip to Brevard. 5 stars is absolutely NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!! They should award 10 stars for Blue Smoke BBQ. I've devoured pretty much everything on their menu, and highly recommend all of it! You simply cannot go wrong! My most favorite item which I tried last weekend was their Brunswick Stew!!! It's absolutely the best I've ever had, and I've had a lot! I'm telling you that if you're driving down the road in and around Brevard, and you see their truck, HIT THE BRAKES AND STOP!!! It will be the best meal you've had in a long time. One of the things I really appreciate is simple food done well. Blue Smoke does it right. There's nothing fancy about the food, but they nail the fundamentals of tasty, delicious BBQ. This food truck magically appeared a few weeks ago near my house in Lake Toxaway and after hearing everyone else around here rave about the food I finally decided to try it myself - I was NOT disappointed. My first time I tried a pimento cheese and smoked turkey sandwich and it was outstanding. It came with perfectly spiced baked beans and the portions were quite generous. I've been back 2 more times and the quality has been consistent over everything I have tried. All of their sides are fresh and the menu is updated almost daily so it's impossible to get sick of :). The owners of the rig, Mark and Marjorie, seem like kind and warm people and they certainly know what they are doing on the business end of a smoker. My girlfriend and I are psyched to have a great bbq option so close to home, as according to the local scuttlebutt, are the rest of the locals around here. read more

Stupid good food. Menu is simple which is so nice. The meat is juicy and flavorful which tends to be a problem for many bbq places when it comes to pulled pork. They had jackfruit tacos today that was out of this world. I'm def not a vegetarian but I would gladly choose that over almost any other taco. And that's saying something cause the first thing I do anywhere I go is find the best tacos in the area. Their brisket taco was just as good and ranks up there with white duck taco in Asheville/Greenville and bull street taco in Savannah GA. The Cuban bbq wrap/sammich is blow your mind kind of good. As out of towners we just came by the Blue Smoke BBQ trailer randomly when they were located outside the Hub at the entrance to the Pisgah Nat'l Forest. The BBQ was excellent. The pulled pork was super tender, the smoked turkey was a nice complement. The pimento grilled cheese was garlicky and delicious.
