Arrived after setting reservation. Sitting was chaotic and was sat at bar. The buffet is ok but the servers make it feel like a prison mess hall with stopping food on plate, some food items weren't available like the eggs. The biscuits were hard and the brisket was cold and very salty. Had difficulty with obtaining service to get beverage refills snd to even get final check. The ambiance was ok and they had a DJ playing country music. The staff seemed to be having problems staying accommodating guests as the building was full to include people drinking many types of alcoholic beverages at 1pm. High top tables all the way around so not the best for small children. I came with my family, and while kids are technically allowed, there aren't any kid options, cups, or menus, which made it a bit awkward. I ordered a regular lime margarita with salt on the rim. It came out with two lemon slices, salt slapped on the side of the glass, and tasted more like lemonade with a splash of alcohol than a margarita. I sent it back and asked for water instead -- they never brought the water. When the food came, it didn't help. Went here last night to watch the fights with a group of friends. Had a great time. TV's everywhere, and 3 large screens on the top deck. We had the brisket street tacos and they were delicious. The drinks were good, and the beer towers kept flowing. Everyone had a great time. All the staff were friendly and quick. Only change I would make is not making the music so loud that you can't hear yourself think. The DJ's were playing some good music but it was so loud that people have to scream at each other. Came here for their Kegs and Eggs event leading up to the San Antonio Rodeo. They were giving away free breakfast tacos and breakfast sandwiches along with orange juice and coffee. They had live bands playing and it's a big venue all outdoors with different stages so it was a lot of fun to watch. They had heaters since it was cold in the morning and the team were great making sure the heaters were turned on and if any of them needed propane replaced. I had a good experience and enjoy going to the events they host during the morning/day. It's a cute spot and I'll be back for more of their events. read more

So this is a really good spot that that you can go to a personal outside situation because of the weather. So if a happy hour you have everything from 3 to 5 dollars. Crown royal. Margaritas. Tito's. All that. It was a really good move. I got three drinks and was paid like $13, so I'm not happy at all! I just eaten but I had to go get some brisket and I went ahead and tried the brisket here and it was actually pretty good. That comes with sauce and onions and pickles if you want that. And bread as well. But the brisket was tender and juicy. It had enough fat on her so you know it was going to be flavorful. They gave you sauce if you needed it but it didn't really need that much sauce to me. Overall if it's a really good day outside you should definitely try to stop in. They have an excessive amount of space so you have endless places you can go to sit down. You can sit outside under a covered place or entryway, or you can sit in a center area where it's like a courtyard with a picnic setup. Either way, you'll be fine. When we came on a Friday they had a DJ there and he was playing the hits. A lot of early 2000s hits which I appreciated. Overall I would definitely suggest this place if you want to get out and get some air. Since it's all outdoors, you really can't miss. I ordered: St. Louis Ribs Plate (x3 ribs) with 2 sides -- Potato Salad & Green Beans Note that there is a difference between "Beans" and "Green Beans" on the sides menu. The first is actually Pinto Beans. Ounce for ounce, GBs seem to be a healthier option, hence why I went with it. Rest of table had: - 2/3 meats sampler that included smoked chicken and brisket cuts - Pork sandwich - Some beer The Pork Ribs that I ordered (seasoned) was pretty decent. They really soaked it and seasoned it well in salt and other spices. The BBQ sauce was likewise decent, nothing great. All in all, I would rate the dishes I tasted as follows; 1) St. Louis pork ribs -- tastes good with BBQ but just as good without (as it's seasoned) 2) Smoked chicken 3) Brisket -- good but too much fat with the meat, had to work to separate fat from meat (protein). All in all, good experience here at STD (funny acronym I know). They are dog friendly and I walked our dog near bar area outside, also they have decent restrooms, and food is decent enough, if not a home run for Texas BBQ. The brisket mac and cheese needs no explanation. Creamy, cheesy, brisket-y, and just plain good. The 'best damn brisket taco' came with brisket, guacamole, pickled red onion, tomato, chopped white onion, cilantro, and salsa verde on a tortilla. Even with all the fillings inside, the tortilla really held up nicely. I wasn't a huge fan of the pickled red onion because I felt like it really overpowered the salsa verde. We happened to dine in during the third quarter of the Dallas Cowboys Game and indulged in some draft after our meal.
