Over the course of a couple of days, I ordered roast ducks, baked salmon with dill and pomengranate seeds, prime rib, arugula salad with apples and pecans, arugula salad with feta cheese, mandarins and pomengranate seeds, roast brussels sprouts, green beans with almonds, roast potatoes and roasted mixed vegetables. There wasn't a single dish that was a miss. Everyone was amazed at how well everything was seasoned. I was looking for authentically good catering. Smoked and Tasty more than delivered. I was working in the area and was first drawn in by the window advertising, very classic and not flashy. The second thing that drew me in were the smells of smoked meats and fish (not overpowering at all) I was originally just looking for a place to grab a quick snack and do some computer work. But once I got to talking to one of the friendly staff, my three slices of salmon turned into a lox bagel and I decided to grab a small block of smoked cheddar to take home. *I should note that the lox bagel is the only sandwich item they offer from the menu. Everything else can be purchased by the pound No frills is something you will notice I personally look for in a small business. If there are too many frills, I start to wonder what you're trying to distract me from. Smoked lox was fantastic, the bagel was nice and fresh. Like I said NO FRILLS, just honest smoked offerings made by people who care. The best salmon soup I have had in years! I went to the store just because I parked right it front and was curious of such a different deli store in downtown Escondido. I learned that many products are as made in Georgia (the country). Loved to learn new things talking to Giorgy (I hope I wrote it correctly...and I made him write his name in his unique language! loved that, thanks for the linguistic lesson!). He makes very unique bread with cheese on top. I got that bread, also a smoked cheese braid, also Georgian style (super delicious...As I mentioned the soup, it comes frozen and is fully packed of ingredients, so I was able to have 3 full soups to eat home out of that container. Modern and rustic style restaurant that also makes you feel a bit at home. To start off, they offer a variety of smoked options from proteins like duck, beef, salmon, and more that come in forms of sausage, dehydrated, smoked, or just by themselves fresh. They were kind enough to offer samples and I tried their salmon jerky and salmon sausage. Both were packed with flavor and refreshing. They go even further making their own deserts and offering sweets you can buy off their shelf's. But they don't stop there, they offer a large variety of balsamic vinegars, jams, spreads, soups, frozen goods, freshly baked bread, and cheeses as well. For the meal itself, I ordered the Salmon Lox Bagel and after about 10 minutes I was stunned by the presentation and bright colors of the fresh salmon presented before me. The bagel itself was fresh and soft to the touch. The herbs, onions, and tomatoes were flavorful, fresh, and added a nice touch to the presentation. The peppers were just a tiny bit spicy but packed with juicy flavor that accompanied the salmon well. The cream cheese spread was made fresh and I'm not sure what was added into the spread, but it was delicious and pierced through the salmon to punch your tastebuds with flavor. And after all of these flavors and textures going on. The thick cut slice of salmon was still the star of the show. The salmon was fresh and melted in my mouth as I could taste it's purity. It made it to the clean plate club and I was left with wanting more. She did not, I have not dealt with such horrific customer service and now lies about ME threatening HER, if threatening means leaving a review and her saying "do what you have to do". I have email confirmation chains of her agreeing to $8/person for 75 guests for a grazing table. I had been speaking with her since JULY! Today 10/07/23 I called to make an appointment to do tastings and lock in our menu. She was so helpful initially in July she then on the phone today told me she was increasing prices to $12/person because labor and costs. Hold on... I have an entire email chain to her agreeing to $8/person! Then she had the audacity to say, "I don't owe you anything" and she lied saying "I don't have emails with that price". Not only was she not giving us basic human decency and respect, she called us liars. We felt strong armed so we said ok if we do $12/person we want to speak with you face to face. She new she messed up and refused to do work for us cause she was too cowardly to meet us in person, after she called us liars. Please for all that is good and holy don't use this disrespectful human's business. Go to someone who honors their word and who doesn't pull a catch 22 for the sake of a buck. Wooo this place is spot on with its title! All that is missing is smoked cheese! This place has fresh baked bread, oils for dipping and lots of smoked meats. I got a piece of salmon that was delicious and I couldn't say no to the fresh bread they had. Especially after been given a sample of their bread with smoked olive oil. Soooo tasty! On the rare occasions when we have time to just do nothing but stroll along Grand Ave. we love finding someplace new and wonderful. And when we found this place, that's exactly what we found. I love small businesses that are not only creative and sell great stuff, but also when the owner is personally invested enough to meet and speak with their customers. We met the owner and she explained all of the incredible offerings and let us taste some. We wound up bringing some delicious treats home with us and have been enjoying them regularly. First one was maybe few weeks prior to that (that's why I decided to order catering ahead to make sure you have "salo") when we stopped by the store with my husband but because of lack of parking he dropped me off by the store and I walked in by myself. Your reply is just harming yourself. Cuz it shows how not attentive you are to your customers as business owner. Also, stop threatening me with your lawyer or husband. You told me that you gonna check with your accountant not lawyer (just a small reminder) but I guess since it was later at night you started bombing me with screenshots from google. So far, we've tried the smoked salmon and the salmon jerkey. Both are very good. We have to remind ourselves not to eat through half a pound of the latter in one sitting. It's that good. The ladies are always friendly and personable. Always ready with smiles, answers and explanations. The only thing that can be improved on is implementation of a system when a line starts to form. Presently, the store leaves it to the customers to monitor and police the lines. This non-system allows line cutters and jumpers to thrive, especially if those in front are a bit timid. Perhaps, a simple "who's next in line or who's here first?" will address the issue. I get that the proprietors do not want to alienate their customers by not attending to them when they ask; but, if they continue giving service to customers who cut the line, they will alienate those who were rudely passed over. read more

Very good smoked meat and fish. Anyone in Escondido should give this place a go. We stopped by on the way home from Carlsbad. My wife was sitting in the car with our toddler while I was on FaceTime showing her the store. I asked if she wanted Copicola, she said no, but the store lady already started to cut several fresh samples of their wares. My wife tried Capicola first and immediately changed her mind, so we got capicola, smoked eel, smoked ribs and cold smoked bacon as well and teriyaki salmon jerky(the best I had so far). We are definitely going to come back for their duck. Prices seemed very fair and not too expensive and quality was fantastic. I had the lox and cream cheese bagel. It was beautiful and the cream cheese had herbs and was so good! It was piled high with lox and the traditional toppings as well. The service was very nice and I was offered to try salmon jersey, wow, who knew it could be so good! The shop is small but had a nice selection of ore packaged salads, soups and other delicacies. And...a very nice pastry display. I tried the heart shaped mouse and it tasted almost as good as it looked. I'm also considering them for catering as the recommendations for that have been great. We have made some wonderful food from the ingredients we purchased from here. They are very gracious hosts and encourage and allow you to sample everything. So far we purchased the smoked salmon, smoked duck legs, homemade smoked salmon cream cheese spread, homemade chimichurri and three bottles of infused balsamic vinegar and we've been eating like royalty ever since! I just made a recipe from the website on the balsamic bottle (Tilapia with Strawberry Balsamic Salsa) and it was ridiculously healthy and delicious! We've been eating bagels with the smoked salmon and the smoked salmon cream cheese (add fresh tomatoes, purple onion, capers, salt and pepper), crackers with Chimichurri (add cheese and garlic paste from ALDI) and crackers with smoked duck (add blueberry goat cheese from ALDI). We use the cherry balsamic vinegar to our avocado toast and have used the orange balsamic in cocktails. We can't wait to see what else they add as they grow their business! read more
