Wow, that's what I have to say is WOW! For me, it is not easy for an establishment to get 5 stars. You really have to be outstanding in terms of food, customer service, restaurant cleanliness, and overall appeal. I was looking for an awesome place to BBQ as the rest of this week while on a business trip out here, I was nothing but disappointed with the previous 2 night's dinner locations. BBQ. Good, no scratch it, awesome BBQ was what I was looking for. When I got to the parking lot, I noted that the restaurant was nice and well-lit with large windows in the front so that you can see into the restaurant. Once inside, I noted that it had a cool vibe, with cool decorations on the walls, nice open tables, and it was clean, clean, clean inside. The menu boards were well-laid out and easy to understand. I went with the Mo's Meat Platter. All I can say is that it was an awesome deal at $24.99. It was a lot of food for one person and I had plenty of leftovers. It came with smoked turkey, brisket, ribs, Italian sausage, and pulled pork. It also came with two sides so I asked for the cole slaw and twice-baked potato. It's all served on a wax paper sheet on top of a flat metal tray. Man, after digging into the platter, I noted that although I got some BBQ sauce from the dispensers, none of the items required any BBQ sauce. It's almost sacrilegious to dip anything into BBQ sauce. The dry-rub ribs were amazing, the brisket was spectacular, the turkey was moist and juicy, sausage was incredible, and pulled pork was mouth-watering. The cole slaw and twice-baked potato were awesome compliments to the meal and the garlic bread.... man, the garlic bread. He said that he buys large amounts of butter from the Amish community that he drives to and purchases and picks up in person. The amount of food would have been good to share for two people. While eating, Mo came up to speak with us and he was one of the most genuine, friendly, and caring owners I've ever spoken with. He has a genuine love for the BBQ/smoke craft and definitely knows his stuff. He went through some of his special items, the history of the restaurant and his background, and definitely takes pride in his restaurant. He even went as far as to offer up samples of other delicacies that we did not order. His collard greens to me were second-to-none and are cooked in the juices from the meats that he smokes. He also brought the freshly made garlic mashed potatoes (are you kidding me? So crazy tasty) and burnt pork ends (yikes... is this even legal? It attacks your taste buds with reckless abandon). All-in-all, this was a definite yummylicious dinner that I could not finish. The portion size was awesome for the price. What a great way to celebrate a long work day. I would highly recommend this place for BBQ/smoked food aficionados. Like I stated earlier, I don't give out many 5 star reviews but Mo and his team of dedicated employees have a winner on their hands. If you are in the area, you cannot pass up on the opportunity to have some spectacular BBQ. Probably the best Pork Steak I have ever had (sorry babe). It is day selective (what days they have it). We went on Tuesday and were in luck. It is so tender, all you need is a fork. Its also quite a large portion. It comes with two sides and cheesy garlic bread. We got two pork steak dinners (with two sides each), a pulled pork sandwich, a side of fries and three drinks. First thing I noticed when walking in, there is no "smoke smell". It's a bbq restaurant but does not smell like one. Seems like the bbq is oven cooked, not cooked on wood in an actual smoker. Ribs were ok. Not bad, not good. Meat was cooked to correct doneness but lacked real bbq flavor. Beans were from a can with minimal seasoning. Corn was decent with a good butter flavor but a bit dry (overcooked). I've had bbq all over the country and this is near the bottom but not the worst I've had. Holy crap! Their food is outstanding! Me and my wife eat here quite often and by far the best we have had in a while. The pork steaks are as big as the plate and I'd guess about an inch thick. And if you are a fan of smoked chicken and order the half smoked chicken.... You ready??? You get the whole bird! It is always the choice when we want bbq, not just for the food but you are in and out. No long lines and no crowds (honestly can't see why that is because there should be for the quality of food they put out). But not having to wait in a long line and then hunt for a table are a plus in my book. The place is clean too! No sticky tables, soda/condiments bars are always clean as well. Tried this place for the first time yesterday! Amazing food! And fantastic customer service. We went with with my and parents and my 11 month old daughter. Who was asleep when we showed up. Not really sure what the fascination is with this place. This is the second time I tried it bc someone recommended it again. But it was just as bad the second time as the first. The Frozen pre cooked fries were soggy and over piled to make it look like the platter was worth $15. The sauces were watered down with vinegar and they were so overpowering and runny. The meat was smushed in a ball in some kind of paper, I guess to "retain moisture" so it's not dry (as they claim their meats never are). The meat portion was so small it wasn't even filling. If you are a fan of quality BBQ, it's definitely worth checking out. The reibs and pulled pork are as good as any. A good variety of sauces area available and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I was not such a big fan of the Italian sausage. This is something that might be personal taste, but for some reason it just didn't appeal to me. The other item that was mostly good was the brisket, but a couple of times, it was a bit bland for my taste. The sides are fine. I especially like the baked beans.
