As you walk in it has such a beautiful aroma and welcoming atmosphere...then the fire nation attacked ruining a beautiful brisket by over cooking it to a dry standard. The chicken had a beautiful colour but once again petting the temperature get away causing a dry outcome. Ribs ended out as an over salted mess. This was a sad day for manhood may their grills be turned and the ashes cooled. In the end what saves them are tr here fixins and sauces. The carrots danced upon my palate like sugar fairies long since passed. The beans ever so savory with a beautif ti l peppery finish. The sauces bringing moisture back to the food referred to as a scorched earth policy. If you like sugarfire you'll love this place. We've been here a few times. Everything we've ordered has been wonderful! This is a local, family run business. Their sauces are all good and they have a pretty varied selection, but I like their traditional. I, personally, am not a rib eater but I have heard they are fabulous! We love the smoked turkey, chicken, Italian sausage and the smokey burgers but their sides are all homemade and wonderful too! They have this amazing sandwich that I crave called the Mostrami STL! It's a pile of their fantastic pastrami, on garlic bread, with swiss cheese and coleslaw and this homemade mustard dressing that just pulls it all together. They also have some beautiful desserts. I wouldn't know how good they are because I've been too stuffed to try any. Not complaining! Lord help me, it's worth the drive! Go check 'em out, I think you'll be glad you did! read more

The atmosphere was great! They had live music and the musician was not only really good but great crowd interaction. It definitely made the cold rainy night enjoyable. It was pretty busy and we had about a 45 minute wait and the waiter only came to see us what seemed like 3 times the entire 2 hours we were there. My husband has been craving a pulled pork sandwich, so we tried this place for his birthday dinner. Their curbside pickup runs so smoothly and from when I called in our order to when it was ready for pickup was only 15 minutes. The pork sandwiches were huge (you really need two buns for the large) and the meat was cooked just right. We tried the Traditional and Hickory sauces....both excellent. Arrived in the Lou and was hungry so found this place, one word AMAZING!!!! Moist meats, local ingredients, the bread! Their bread is fresh baked with cheese, so good! Funny that they talk about curb side during Covid yet no one had masks on when we went to get our food Wednesday night. To top it off the meats were fatty and greasy not seasoned or flavored plain. The BBQ sauce was mandatory for it to taste ok. Sad I love BBQ and wanted to love it. I can wholeheartedly recommend the pulled pork here. It's well smoked and perfectly tender. A six ounce sandwich is piled high and delicious. Unlike a lot of barbecue joints, they serve a good variety of sides. We tried the greens and twice-baked potatoes. The greens were good, but the potato was just OK. This is supposed to be the best bbq in Arnold. It may be, but I found it just OK. Not much in the way of vegetative sides, the kind I prefer, but they do offer the meat unaccompanied. The ribs were very meaty and rather dry. The rub they're cooked with was not enough for good flavoring; the sauces on the side were necessary. Brisket and ribs were done well. Smoke flavor was decent but not my personal favorite. Everything had a good flavor in general however EVERYTHING was served about room temperature, and that was at lunch time...1230. I would expect it to be warm at a prime meal time. Sauces were original & unique at least & a good compliment to the meats. Ho-lee-smokes this place is amazing! I can't say that I've ever had more perfect ribs. Even when I cook them myself! The house barbecue sauce was like none other. Going to go back to see if I can't buy a bottle for home! The broccoli casserole was better than what the previous reviews described. We can find better BBQ somewhere else: As I walked in I was trying to smell the smoke.. None to be found... The wall has the menu all over it and I spotted a pork steak plate and that sounded so good until the guy behind the counter went in the back and came out with something wrapped in aluminum foil I thought OH NO... He asked what I wanted for my sides and set it on the counter ... It looked so unappetizing right out of the slow cooker.. (it pulled apart like pulled pork) not my type of pork steak... The first thing I did was tried it without sauce OH NO ... I grabbed 3 different bottles of sauce and drenched that poor pork steak with all the sauces , I looked for a smoke ring tried to find a smoke taste but never found it.... My buddies ordered pulled pork sandwiches , one of them has been here before and seem to like it the other agreed with never again will we come here.... Read the reviews and was excited to try. People were friendly, accomodations were ok. Same scenario as Sugar Fire BBQ. Brisket was lukewarm, pork was room temperature, beans tasted like they opened a can and tossed in some barbaque sauce, no meat in them at all. Supossed to be garlic bread was hard and stone cold and did not taste like garlic. It was inbetween lunch and dinner rush, so maybe they just didnt care for only 4 customers in the place. Solid bbq joint. Got the mo platter with 5 meats, and the half chicken. I loved the dark meat chicken, pulled pork and ribs the most. The white bbq sauce is to die for. And if they have the shrimp corn chowder, get it. Its smokey and just hints at a spicy undertone but does not burn my mouth with heat. The Texas potatoes were nice and cheesy and the broccoli casserole was good, but I would like to have the option of no breadcrumbs for us people not having carbs. I would also like to see Sprite zero on the soda fountain for people that want no calorie and no caffeine. Let's start with the fact I have eaten just about everyone's barbecue that is raved about and others that are not well known but should be. I first fell in love with the Burnt Ends and you won't find better anywhere in St. Louis. I just got a rack of ribs last night and once again these are unrivaled. As soon as the ribs were gone I drove back and got a pound of brisket. It was very difficult not to get more ribs but the brisket called to me. Once again I have eaten plenty of brisket. This is hands down one of the best restaurants at which I've ever eaten! The smell as you come in the restaurant is heavenly!! When you get to the front door, you know you're at a good restaurant... under the open times, it says "or until sold out." They are slingin' some of the best food I've eaten at any restaurant, period. The brisket is tender enough that you can cut it with a fork, and the pulled pork is AWESOME, too! What am I doing in Arnold, MO? It's a long story! I'm going to tell you a short story though about Smokee Mo's BBQ. Go there! It's amazingly delicious. I looked over the menu and waited in line for a minute and asked the guy on the line if the pulled pork was better or the brisket. He said he's a brisket fan and offered me a slice. I was sold! Brisket sandwich and mac & cheese side. Wait a minute! Look at that sweet potato casserole. Let's go with that! Boy did I make the right choice. The sweet potato casserole had nuts and brown sugar in it. It was light and sweet and better than candy. The brisket had a nice bark but wasn't overly spiced which is a good thing. I like to taste the meat and not the rub. It was clearly smoked but didn't have that overdone smoke taste that occurs often. I tried a few of the sauces and my favorite by far was the "Hickory Smoke with a Kick." It wasn't overly spicy but it was the perfect complement to the brisket. Anyone want to drive to Arnold? Smokee Mo's was amazing. I brought my parents in because my dad wanted BBQ and I remember passing the place on countless occasions since we live down the street. We finally stopped in and didn't regret a minute of it. We met "Mo" outside when we were parking in the back on the building and he was immediately one of the friendliest people I've meet. He clearly loves his job and was happy to meet us as new customers. He even brought my dad and I beers as we were finishing up eating. He sat and chatted with us some more at our table.
