Well, it been sometime since my last review. It's only fair I update the review. I'd anything the Smokehaus has gotten better!!! Since my first review I've been back to Tennessee several times and can honestly say I'd put the BBQ and fixins the Smokehaus up against anything I ate in the South since. I travel the US racing motorcycles so if anyone knows BBQ it's me. During the covid mess the place was packed with cars, trucks and bikes because no one could let this place suffer. Even plates from out of state! I think they're business grew during this time. People even eating outside on days it rains! That tells you it's good. Bring it home in bulk if you like. Local beer on tap too! You've gotta get there early if you want BBQ. They have two good sized smokers which are packed every night. I see him packing the smokers after its closed as I'm driving by. So when it's gone it's gone. It's that good. No leftovers the next day. Don't cheat your taste buds. Get by here and git you some good BBQ. read more

So I don't review a lot of restaurants but it doesn't mean I don't know good food! I work for a Texas based company and have had the honor of working on my friends award winning BBQ team in Dallas where BBQ rules! I also eat out at least 150 days of the year. All of that said, I can't say enough about this BBQ! I was having the boys over to watch the Pats game and walked in to place an order.. I didn't call ahead. I ordered a rack of ribs, 1 pound of pulled pork, 1 pound of brisket, large beans, large slaw and a large Mac&cheese for the kids. The owner (the son and co-owner) was very welcoming. I sat at the 5 seat bar and ordered a fine IPA on tap from Maine Brewing company and chatted about beer and BBQ with the staff while they prepared my order in front of me. Here is what I liked best: The owners are bold enough (unlike other BBQ places) to take a risk and serve ribs with an extremely flavorful dry rub. The balance of spice and brown sugar gave a flavor that was so good they didn't need sauce. It may not be for everyone but it was perfect for me and my friends. They are selling to those who like flavor that comes from a combination of mild smoke and a great rub and not just relying on sauce to appeal to everyone... The variety of sauces they served were terrific. I enjoyed the bolder spicer sauce however the Carolina style sauce was good too. My order also came with a mustard sauce that I will go back for specifically to use with my homemade maple syrup mustard sauce that I make my chicken with during sugar season. My 1A was the brisket. Very well cooked! I was offered a choice between a leaner cut or a more fatty cut so naturally I picked both. The lean cut leftovers went very well in my brisket omelet the next morning.. so let's get to the sides: If you like BBQ, order the BEANS and the SLAW. The beans eat like a meal. Obviously cooked with a pork butt for many hours. Absolutely delicious. The slaw had a unique tangy crisp flavor that we couldn't get enough of. Didn't try the Mac and Cheese but the kids cleaned it up.. I am a BBQ guy. If you want good pasta go see Mitch and Stacey at Table 8 down the road. If you want BBQ go see this place! Can't wait to go back! I am thrilled to finally see a winner in that building. It's a great location! read more

One of the best places to get bbq in the area...I'm a Kansas City style girl, this Texas style is as close as I'm going to get without a very expensive JackStack package..hardwood smoke brisket both fatty and lean cuts...decent sides...and okay sauces, chicken sauce is my favorite.. read more

We had a rack of Dino bones and universally agreed this was some of the best bbq we have ever had anywhere! The only thing missing from the menu is fried pickles but every single piece of meat from the brisket to the chicken was juicy and amazing! read more

I went there on Saturday May 12 for lunch. Got there at 12:30 and the parking lot was almost full. I had the Beef Brisket. The meat was tender, juicy and flavorful. The meat stands out on its own, but adding the spicy sweet sauce put this meal over the top. I saw big orders of Ribs going out so that is what I will order next time. By 1:00 there was quite a line at the order window so I think the word is getting out on this place. I will definitely be coming back read more

The Smokehaus was recommended by an acquaintance and I wasn't disappointed. The pulled pork platter was phenomenal and the fries are clearly cooked in a very clean oil and wow wow wow good. The cole slaw was nothing spectacular but still good. Highly recommend 5 stars for sure !!! read more

Smokehaus BBQ New place just opened in Amherst NH and the que is fantastic. They have great hours, but as alot of good authentic BBQ joints, once they are sold out for the day, they are done for the day. Try the fatty brisket. read more

While this place has decent food, I was very turned off yesterday while on a visit while witnessing the owner's behavior towards an employee in front of customers. He was clearly berating her and I felt very bad for her. Businesses don't survive on food alone. Without loyal, hard-working employees who are respected by management, they won't make it. The Burger Mill which was at this property before had the same issue, decent food, poor owner's treatment of its employees. I am not sure I will go back. The 'Me Too" movement doesn't just apply to large companies but to small ones too. read more

This is very good. I wish they had chicken wings and fatty brisket today, but it's a good reason to come back. The greens need just a little more something and the macaroni and cheese needs just a little bit more cheese. Beans are great but the showstoppers were the Dino bones and the hog wings. read more

Excellent Barbecue. Tried Smokehaus last night for the first time. Ribs, Brisket, pulled pork all excellent. Tender and great smoke flavor. Great baked beans, creamed corn, Mac and cheese, and a really good slaw on the sweet side. Highly recommend!! read more

Very delicious food. The dining room was clean and nicely decorated and the staff were polite and friendly.

The hog wings are amazing. Plain, no sauce and seasoned perfectly. Everything on the menu is delicious with the exception of the brisket. I don't like that it's more like a pot roast consistency. I wish this place was bigger because there's very little seating and if your seated inside, you most likely have a butt in your face because the line of people waiting to order is wrapped around your table. I would give no stars. Ordered the brisket plate which consisted os six very thin slices of cold, tasteless meat, beans and Mac and cheese. If it wasn't for the bbq sauce the meat would have no flavor at all. The beans were good and the Mac n cheese was average at best. Will not return. read more

I have been to Smokehaus twice, the first time I had the brisket sandwich, creamed corn, Mac n Cheese. The second time I had hog wings and chicken corn chowder with hush puppies. The food was FANTASTIC. Wish I lived closer (Bangor, Me) but Smokehaus will be a regular for me whenever I'm in the area. Congrats on great flavor, and ambiance. This is a legit Barbecue joint in the middle of New England. The food is excellent and the owner is knowledgeable about what he does. Get there early because the sell out early and THAT is the sign of a good bbq place. Nice smoke flavor and a good balance of flavor make this place legit. The have a small selection of good local craft beer as well. The have an Alabama style white sauce that is fantastic on chicken. No place in the northeast has this option. Best BBQ around. Had the 1/2 rack of ribs and could only finish half of them. Sauces were great too. Baked beans had a ton of pulled pork in them and was like a meal in itself. My Texas husband had the brisket. Perfect with a great smoke ring and just the right amount if fat to keep it juicy. We will be back! read more

We live in Nashua, and were on our way home from having been up North. We were talking about what we wanted to do for dinner, and remembered that people that we know had raved about Smoke Hause, so we decided to detour down Rte 101 to check them out. We ordered a 1/2 rack and full rack plate with beans and mac sides. Beans were excellent. Mac needed a little bit more cheese, in our opinion, but it was ok. The ribs were a little underwhelming. I love dry rub, but this is the first time that I have had dry rub ribs where the rub was more of a paste. I thought it was applied too thickly, but it did have nice taste. I also like ribs that have been cooked so the meat falls of the bones. Not the case with our order. The ribs themselves were difficult to pull apart. Very messy, which is not what I look for in a dry rub. Will I try them again? Absolutely, because I believe in trying places more than once. I see that they reply to these reviews. Not trying to bad mouth them, but I am interested to see if I was missing something. read more

Sadly, this was a very disappointing visit. After we ordered and sat, I noticed it was $5 for 2 sodas, which seems a bit over the top. We started with the Poutine, which was huge and could have been a started easily for a group of 4. The flavor was good but not better than anything in a chain restaurant. The best part was the fries; they were crispy without being greasy or soggy. We then had a 2-meat plate. It was a bit off putting that there was an upcharge for the ribs (somewhat expected) and for the brisket. With so few meat options, it felt forced to pay more. The ribs had a tasty rub but the brisket was extremely tough. Having to use a knife to cut it seems like a BBQ sin! The collards were a pleasant surprise but the mac and cheese was again at the chain restaurant quality level. Everything was served at room temperature which made me very concerned about the food handling practices. Nothing was egregious but the whole experience was very disappointing. read more

This place is a gem. It's in a location that was a bustling general store 15-odd years ago, burned down, rebuilt... but never found the right vibe, and turned into the failed-business-of-the-year club. Until now. The BBQ is excellent, the management and staff are friendly. If you get the wings, note: it's THE WHOLE WING. Ridiculously delicious, but also a lot more filling than what you get at most places when you order a wing. Their home-made sweet sauce also has just a bit of tang -- a pleasant change from store-bought sauces. And to one dissatisfied person's review: you run out of BBQ because it takes time to *do* BBQ. And their smoker can "only" fit 1,000 lbs. of meat. As they're a new business, it would be the height of folly to try to bump up their production when they're so new, which would require significant outlay of cash: it's not simply a matter of inventory. Nutshell: go there, and enjoy, but if it's a weekend, go EARLY. read more
