If the waitress (Carly) wasn't so great, I'd give this restaurant one star. Smokey Bones corporate should consider removing their name. When we walked into the restaurant, there was one group ahead of us waiting to be seated. About half the tables of the restaurant were empty, but most of them had dirty dishes on them. The employees we could see were running around like crazy and the manager (we later met Kelly) dealt with an issue with one table about a coupon and then yelled at another employee in front of our side of the restaurant. Not something management should do in front of guests... The restaurant was clearly understaffed, but we got seated in about 15 minutes or so. Carly came to get our drink orders quickly, but our drinks (especially the alcoholic one) took a while. It seemed like the only bartender was also busy cleaning off tables and doing a lot of other things around the restaurant, which explained the super slow service. Though Carly checked on us frequently and filled our nonalcoholic drinks as well as she could, our dinner took a LONG time to get to us (we didn't look at the time when dinner finally got there, but it was more than 10 minutes after Carly told us the last meal was getting plated - we think they completely forgot the burger, since the burger was not the meal Carly mentioned as the last one getting ready and was the ONLY meal properly prepared or warm delivered to our table), but when we left the restaurant, we had been there for TWO HOURS. Part of our meal was missing, none of it was properly prepared (other than the burger) and it was all cold (except for the burger). The cheese on my mac & cheese side (a $1.99 up charge) was congealed and though I like my pasta al dente, some of the macaroni wasn't cooked at all really. The ribs were VERY dry and overcooked and (of course) cold. The meat in the taco wasn't that great and the tacos were cold. Until someone mentioned it today, I didn't even realize we never got the bread and butter they normally deliver to tables at Smokey Bones and I only got the cold garlic bread when I mentioned it. At our request, our meal was discounted, but we still wanted to talk to the manager to tell her how disappointing our meal had been. It was almost immediately clear that Kelly, the manager, couldn't have cared less. She said they were fully staffed, just busy (remember that half the tables were empty when we got there, but they couldn't bus them, since the staff was too busy). She claimed they did this on purpose, since they didn't want the kitchen to be too busy. What's the point of having tables if you PURPOSEFULLY leave them dirty and empty while your guests wait by the door? If they had more staff there, couldn't they have people at the tables and allow people to get their food and eat it in under two hours? Two hours is understandable in a fancy restaurant with a 7 course meal, but when all your food is delivered at once and it's so bad that you end up eating food at home instead of the food you were delivered and taking some of it home so you can heat it up another time it's pretty crazy. We ate some of the cold food, since we knew it could take up to a half hour to get our food back if we had the restaurant heat it up and it would probably still be delivered cold again. The manager (Kelly) had a flippant answer for every issue we mentioned. Kelly was incredibly disrespectful and talking to her was a complete waste. She made it clear that the situation we encountered was typical and she couldn't care less if we waited over an hour for food. We will definitely NEVER go back to Smokey Bones in Cranberry. There are plenty of much better restaurants in that area and a Smokey Bones in Robinson that has been good when we've eaten there (much closer to where we live). read more

I just received an order delivered by uber eats. The worst meal I have ever received. Ice cold... everything except my icecream that was melted. Received items that were wrong. Missing one entre. I used to love Smokey Bones, but I feel like the quality of the food and service has dramatically decreased in the past 2-3 years. It seems like the employees aren't very happy. Tonight we ordered corn bread and it came out the same time as our entrees. The skillet was hot, but the cornbread was undercooked. Paul Hollywood would be very disappointed. My brisket tasted ok, but it and the sides weren't hot; but the plates were. The shredded cheese on top of the mac and cheese was congealed, like it had been under a heat lamp for a while. My husband was happy with his Smokestack burger and fries, and I love the mustard bbq sauce. We couldn't pay our check on the Ziosk; it was broken or just not connecting. Not a big deal, but we like to pay without the waiter. It's hard to find a waiter (at any restaurant) once you've said you don't need anything else. Having said all that, our waiter wasn't terrible, but he wasn't great; nobody wants to be working on New Year's Eve. The restaurant, including bathrooms, was clean. What a great place for all of your favorite BBQ. Fast service and a great place for eating inside or for carry out. Their smoked wings are amazing! The pulled pork is also one of my favorites and they offer 4 or 5 different sauces to use with the meat. The combination platters are my favorite part of this place. Okay, I never met a smoked food that I didn't like. It reminds me of my cooking at home, which usually involves fire and a loud annoying beeping sound. But not on purpose. Anyway, I probably like this restaurant because it's like a great big "old west" lodge inside. There are nice scenic photos on the wall that reminds me a lot of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. And you gotta love all the use of logs and such. Food isn't bad, even though a lot of their meats are dry. I'm a fan of the smoked turkey, just drown it in gravy. They have killer mashed potatoes and gravy. I love the baked beans, green beans and garlic bread. Avoid the brisket at all costs. What is brisket, anyway? Yummy barbeque chicken and shrimp. One of the racks was ok while the other one was tough as beef jerky and had multiple sinew type cartilage in it. Not the most appetizing. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was fun. I don't have any real complaints about the experience itself, it's just that the food isn't that good. I had the West Coast Club and my husband had the Pulled Pork Sammy. My club sandwich and the pulled pork were both served in an appealing manner, but I was not blown away by the flavors or texture. It was fine. I would eat there again if I had to, but I wouldn't go there on purpose. We also had the smoked wings as an appetizer -- good and unique, but I just didn't love them. I ordered a full rack of ribs with a side of fries and mac & cheese, and the ribs seemed to have had been marinated with a dry rub that included smoked paprika. The smoked paprika should have been used in moderation since it overpowered all the other ingredients and didn't pair with the bbq sauce. The fries were too salty as well. Had plenty of small plate food, it satisfied our empty stomachs. Pulled pork sammy, tacos, and boneless wings were delicious. The hamburger was a little underseasoned, but good nonetheless. In another visit previously we had a proper sit-down meal (as opposed to at the bar) and highly enjoyed the ribs and combo platter they offered, too.
