Showed up around 6 pm on Saturday night. Moderate crowd with a short wait. Host/hostess never smiled the entire time. Sat at a booth and waiter was over in no time (smiling). Went to this Smokey Bones location for the very last time tonight. We had a couple of older gift cards to use and decided to go there. Our last two trips to Smokey Bones on Miller Lane have been a total disappointment with extremely slow service and poor food quality. This place is just a shadow of its former self. My wife's steak was way overcooked and dry and my beef brisket platter had far too much fat and not enough meat! The broccoli was overcooked and soggy. Additionally, prices are high compared to other locations offering similar fare for far less money. Hickory River in Tipp City is 10 times better than Smokey Bones on Miller Lane. read more

And that's a generous 3 stars. We walked in and were seated right away, the hostess said the server would be with us right away. A few minutes went by and looking around the room, there were about 5 tables occupied out of the 30 tables in the place, our table counted 6. There were no servers out on the floor and outside of myself, there were other looking around like, where is everybody. Several more minutes went by and finally a server came to our table and began to apologize for the wait (and poor service which we were about to get) because she was hosting her kids birthday party. By the way, she did not disappoint with the poor service. 1 star When she did show up we had our complete order ready. I ordered the grilled shrimp with fries and the corn and my wife ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of coleslaw. We also asked for waters with our beers. The beers came after about 7-10 minutes (remember, hardley anyone in the place)....still no waters. During the time we were waiting, we were indulging in the reviews left by others in Yelp. Not Good! I wish we would have read these first, but we were 5 1/2 hours on the road and were hungry. The food came not too much after that but was delivered by a kitchen staff. One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. Service was absolutely terrible. The server wasn't bad, but the service coming from the bar was absolutely horrendous. This isn't the first time we've had issues with the bartender. To be frank, she's absolutely awful. We ordered two drinks and it took literally almost 20 minutes to get to our table. Giving three stars for the food alone. Service was abysmal and the first time in ages we tipped less than 10%. Also we did not expect to spend more than $42/person even with a few bar drinks (which should have been comped considering it took 30 minutes to get them to our table!). That was the start of the downhill slide with this wait person. We stacked app plates in the center and guessed when entrees started arriving they would be picked up. Wrong. We also asked for beverage refills, including water, and those glasses were mounting on the table too. We had to finally flag another wait person down to order desert, which weren't worth the cost or the time it took to get them. When they did arrive we had to ask OG wait person to remove some of the used dishes from the table. That was probably the last straw. A colleague and I went to Smokey Bones last night for our yearly dinner and conversation to catch up. The hostess was barely present. The booths were greasy and sloppily wiped. Table was greasy. We moved over one table and it was the same. Condiment bottles were filthy and oily to touch. We ordered, and the waitress simply couldn't understand the simple request to hold the BBQ sauce that comes on the tacos. We asked for chicken, and when it arrived it was pulled pork, but at least they did manage to hold the sauce. My Caesar salad was wilted, warm, and swimming in dressing. The plate was dirty and greasy all around the rim. Same for my mushroom burger; served om a filthy plate. It tasted ok, but was unappealing to eat off dirty plates. It seemed pointless to ask for better service. Their menus is somewhat overpriced as well. I've been several times pre-pandemic, but will never visit them again. I half expected to wake up this morning with food poisoning from the lack of cleanliness. If this is how their tables and plates are, you know the staff aren't keeping the food prep area clean. Asked her if we could sit at a smaller table for 4. She rolled her eyes and had a very negative attitude. We sat at the smaller table. If I was just grading the food I would give a 1 star rating. My boyfriend and I ordered the Brisket Chili. It was terrible. Very soupy, very little meat. My boyfriend counted a total of 5 beans in his soup. There was also chunks of fat in the soup which we would have to spit out in a napkin multiple times. The waitress came by and ask how we liked our food. I told Christina it was terrible soup and I would never order it again. Christina ask if she could get us anything else to replace the soup. Our server destiny was nice and food was pretty good. Unfortunately, Lunch and experience was ruined by the fire alarm going on and off for the whole meal and as we left. This started a couple minutes after we ordered and we didn't want to just leave. This seems to be something management was aware of as they were able to tell us what the issue was moments after the alarm began sounding for the first time. We were told that it shouldn't be an issue for long and decided to stay but even after the fire department arrived the alarm continued to sound. We went in to this location. Were seated and sat for 15 minutes without even being acknowledged. The hostess left menus on the table and that was it. The menus were nasty. Sticky with who knows what on them and torn. After 15 minutes of just sitting there we left. I told the hostess on the way out very politely and she didn't even comment. Arrived late (8 pm) on a Wednesday evening. Few other patrons. The place initially looked awesome. Lightly staffed, we had to wait several minutes for someone who didn't smile to greet us and show us to a table. After the wait to be seated, the next disappointment was the debris on the floor - within 10 feet of our table there were a fork, a napkin and some other paper on the floor. A member if the staff walking by the end if the row with a broom and dust pan raised our hopes, but didn't bother to come down our row. Our waitress walked by the debris on the floor several times. The wait staff was not unpleasant. We ordered our meal. I went to the men's room to wash hands. Two sinks there, one was stopped up and filled with dirty water, and a handwritten sign noting that it was out of order. Thanks for pointing that out. Wife reported the same problem in the women's room. This problem is so easy to fix.... We both ordered the "pulled pork sammy". She with broccoli, I with cole slaw. The sandwiches were actually quite good. The sides were unremarkable. There were 4 bottles if various sauces at each table. Each bottle was sticky. We paid and left. I ordered the family feast which should have come with 2 pint side orders and an extra pint ofMac and cheese. also ordered two orders of the banana pudding. with tip the order came to $185.00. when I drove the hour to get home I found that I was missing the side orders and found a small Mac and cheese and 8 banana puddings. I called to report the errors and was advised they would have have the order ready for pickup. I said I lived too far away and with the weather could not come back. they gave me to an assistant manager who advised she would refund some of my order then the phone was passed to another woman who said no they would have the order for me to pick up the next day and then hung up on me because I was getting upset. I emailed corporate the following day and have heard nothing in response. we have eaten at this restaurant numerous times but with this type of service will not choose to go again. it was definitely was a wake up call and I can't see going to this restautant again or recommending it to anyone. read more

Normally I love these guys, but they were really really slow. They have some amazing meats. When I'm craving grilled me this is the place to go. Apparently Sunday night is not the time to go there. We were literally sitting at our table for a whole hour, 60 full minutes, waiting for our food. It should not take that long to make 2 mac & cheese one soup and two salads. It should take 15 minutes tops. Maybe they were training new people, maybe they were understaffed, but that was not their normal performance. read more
