I used to like this place but after my experience today, I won't go back. I tried to use Uber Eats and ordered ribs. After waiting for an hour for my order, the driver arrives and they say no ribs left. I cancel the order and Uber Eats says I have to wait 3 days to get my money back. I tried this place for the first time, & it was very good. I had the ribs, wings, fries,& baked beans. My friend had the triple stack burger with fries, & baked beans. Everything was good. It was hot, & tasted fresh. -The best part was our waitress. I hate I can't remember her name but, she was awesome! We popped in on a busy Saturday night. The hostess, MJ, was AMAZING. Her delivery of the wait time was so personable and excellent, that it made the twenty minutes seem like nothing. Seating was a good mix of booths, tables, and high tops. The music was a good selection of 90s R&B and at a volume that made conversation easy. (Once we were seated, we saw that there were many vacant tables... things must have slowed considerably.) We ordered a burger and fries, sausage and ribs with broccoli and baked beans, and a grilled chicken salad. We also got the corn bread appetizer. The food took FOREVER. The corn bread was burnt, but Hodrick was a GREAT waiter. He replaced it without our having to ask. The burger was also burnt. We brought it to his attention. His attitude was AMAZING. He attempted to take responsibility for it (which was NOT his fault), and made sure that it was prepared properly. The chicken salad was perfect. The sausage, broccoli, and baked beans were fine. The ribs, however, weren't great. We were starving by the time the food came and I forgot to take pics. The thing that they are doing right is the wait staff. The kitchen had some challenges. My son and I initially came to the area to eat at Applebee's but we got there and they had a sign on the door that said "sorry, closed for the remainder of the evening" so we decided to check out Smokey Bones and I'm glad we did! It was our first time eating at this establishment and for a chain restaurant, I have to say, I was quite impressed. For the appetizer we had the soft pretzels with queso. Typically, I'm not a huge fan of queso, but I could tell they made theirs fresh with real cheese. It was delicious! For our meals, my son had the loaded fries and I had the brisket tacos. My son really enjoyed the loaded fries and said they were "sooo bomb". The brisket tacos were also very good, although I wish they had the option to order them with corn tortillas but they only offer flour tortillas. I only keep coming back because the food is good, but the service is NEVER good. I don't leave reviews, but the customer service has been so consistently bad that I finally am. Unnecessary wait times when they aren't that busy, nasty attitudes, and the waiters almost always ignore you until you dang near have to get up and get them or someone else. I would say maybe they are understaffed sometimes but even when I go and the restaurant isn't that full, I still get the same service. I went here because it was my dates favorite place for smoked wings. It was a week day and there was a 30 minute wait even though 50% of the restaurant was empty, chalking it up to covid restrictions... Once seated, we tried to order the wings but they were sold out according to the waitress. No wings in the building. Ok, fine. So I ordered the loaded nachos. I specifically asked that the pork be excluded. The food took a long time to come out. When the food finally came out, it did not look appealing. My date mentioned the meat and chips were burned and they really were, not sure how or why, but given the reviews, I was not going to risk sending it back. I ate a bit of it then felt sick. I realized then pulled pork was all over it. I couldn't see or tell because it was covered with cheese, jalapeños, sour cream, and barbecue sauce. All things with very distinctive tastes that over powered the meat and I thought it was chicken by looking at it. I immediately alerted the waitress she brought her manager out and the manager apologized and comped the meal. The meal only. Not my dates meal and not the drinks which was odd. You could've killed me, everything should be comped, but I digress. I understand mistakes happen, but had I had an allergic reaction to this after specifically asking that no pork be added, they would've had a lawsuit on their hands. I wanted to do this review ASAP so I wouldn't miss any of the details. Upon entering we were greeted and immediately seated. After being seated it took about 30 minutes for our server to come until we stopped another sever and asked if she was our server. Food: I ordered the create your own with the marinated chicken breast and smoked wings. The sides were baked beans, coleslaw and sweet potato fries. The meat was good, but the sides sucked! The server warned me that the coleslaw was nasty and he was right!!!! The sweet potato fries came out cold and I notified my server once we finally saw him again, he told me I couldn't have them taken off the ticket so whether I ate them or not they would stay. I then had him bring me another side of them that were cold and I had finished eating once he returned. I only ate my chicken and left everything else on the plate. I also thought the passion fruit lemonade was good, but it didn't come with any refills and was served in a small mason jar. I had visited this place when I first moved to Atlanta and I couldn't remember why I never came back and today it made sense. I will NEVER come back to this place. It sucks!!!! The service was decent, so no complaints there. The night that I was there, my son came along also, he works as a plumber, that night his truck was broken into and all of his work tools were stolen, that was not covered under his car insurance and add insult to injury they broke his window and tore up the console in his truck. A week later the restaurant doubled bill me, had to call my bank to resolve the issue. I have gone to that restaurant on many occasions but I don't think I'll be going back. I don't even know why I bothered with this place tonight. We ordered a few appetizers online tonight for curbside pick up. Placed the order at 8:15 and confirmation said the food would be ready at 8:45. I pulled into the curbside spot at 8:54 and called the number on the sign. There were two of us, so we ordered the RibFeast for 2, which came w/ 2 racks of ribs, 4 sides and 2 drinks. First off, there were no drinks. One of the sides were incorrect. My husband he faced aggressive pushback from the general manager who was yelling, spouting off offensive comments, and racial micro aggressions. The managaement was unprofessional, restaurant was messy and had an unpleasant order of cleaning materials and old food, staff was unenthusiastic and inresponsive, and the overall experience is one to warrant complaint and new management. The restaurant was clean and so was the restroom and bar area. The server was attentive and polite. The food was everything!!! I can't wait to visit again. Kudos to the cole slaw recipe because alot of places offer bland cole slaw. I even had a signature cocktail made it and was very tasty. I love the way they separate the food so it doesnt get soggy, the fried pickles are ALWAYS crunchy! The service at this place is very slow with limited option. We went in on a Thursday around noon and the place is fairly empty. Yet, we waited 10 minutes to be seated. That is just the beginning of the wait. Once ordered, it took 45 minutes for our food to come out. As of the availability of the food, they didn't have brisket which was disappointing.
