The only downside was the price was a little higher than we expected. They now have the electronic ordering system where you can play games, order more drinks and pay your bill right there at the table. First Caveat: This review is after Smokey Bones removal of one of the most awesome entrees they had. This is why I had to demote them from 4 stars to 3. I am a Smokey Bones club member but no longer frequent the chain much. The only reason I will stop by is if I want some wings They ARE the best wings ANYWHERE! (Get the memphis dry rub with their drizzle! They are absolutely orgasmic!!!! I usually would get the garlic infused/marinated garlic glazed sirloin. It WAS the most impressive item on the menu. I turn so many people on to this entree but alas, corporate SB has chosen the cheaper/quicker way out by simply grilling the sirloin and simply pouring a garlic glaze over it. NOT the same flavor or tenderness at all. Such a shame. They acrewed up a good thing. Ok, the ribs are THE BEST RIBS IN TOWN in town so I WILL also stop by for those as well! Whatever you do, don't get any of their bizarre deserts like the fried cheescake, fried apple bit or fries chocolate cake. They are ALL nasty tasting! The only deserts that are remotely palatable are the bag of doughnuts or possibly the regular chocolate cake. Other than those, RUN from their concoctions! Service can be hit or miss. More times than not I have had grwat service but once in a while you can get a ditz who is MIA (missing in action) gets the order wrong and then forgets you even exist. If this happens, just let theanager kmow and they will correct the issue to your aatisfaction to be sure. Still a good place to eat and beats most other bbq and steak places. A bbq place that serves pasta? Should've heeded the warning signs, but I ignored my gut instinct, and shall probably pay dearly for it tonight. I'm feeling extra queasy right now as I write this, but it has to be done. Hubs and I called in for take out. He got smoked brisket sandwich and fries, and I got the Cuban with smoked turkey and onion rings. Was hoping it would be an interesting take on the Cuban, but I think Publix deli meat might be an improvement in this sandwich. (Not ragging on Publix, they actually have a great deli department). Turkey was super dry, SO said his brisket had no taste - surprising since it's their signature item. Also, not sure if the lady taking my order was new, but when I asked if the onion rings are breaded or battered, she said she didn't know but thinks they are breaded. Didn't bother to offer to find out. I'm not at all fond of breaded rings so I order the tots instead and she asks if I want the total rung up. Of course I say yes, so she puts me on hold for a minute. Then another lady picks up and reads me the order and those accursed onion rings are on the order. I'm thinking maybe this lady knows, so I ask the breaded or battered question again. She says she doesn't understand what I'm asking. Am I wrong, or is this not a perfectly valid question? So I repeat myself, maybe the connection wasn't great. She finally tells me they are battered, so I say great, add those on instead of tots. She informs me that the first lady didn't understand why I wanted the rings "tossed", they only "toss" the wings and chicken strips; so I'm silently screaming in my head,"Tots, tots, tots! This place is swirling the drain. Waited forever to have someone wait on us and when she got to us she reeked of weed. I guess that explains the delay. Food was fine but the entire restaurant had two tables and about four people at the bar. No one said hello when we walked in and even though there were three employees at the door no one said goodbye. Went to Smoky Bones Wednesday evening. As soon as we walked in my wife had I looked at each other and said that it was weird that the floors were so sticky. We sat down and ordered our dinner. By the way, our server wasn't friendly at all. We ate dinner and before we left I decided to use the restroom. As soon as I walked in the bathroom I noticed that the floors were very sticky and the bathroom smelled "sour". I looked and saw that the urinal was disgusting and the floor around it haven't been mopped for several days. Without being too disgusting but there was a buildup of dried urine stains all over the white porcelain. The next urinal stall had paper towels clogging up the drain. In short, I almost felt sick to my stomach. I ended up taking pictures but don't think it's appropriate to post them..... I told the manager and he said he'll look at them. Was in town for the 1st time to visit family. We have been to this restaurant before and always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Things have changed and not for the best. The music was overwhelming loud!! It was not background music, but a big distraction when trying to have a conversation with family we were visiting. Horrible, will never go there again! We were a party of 3 and I ordered the petite sirloin, which was supposed to be medium rare - NOT! It was served to me well done and the gravy on the mashed potatoes had a thick sheen or skin on it, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. You always have to be skeptical when the server gives you your plate saying "be careful, the plate it hot". Corn was also disgusting. My friend ordered ribs that were completely overcooked, along with dry chicken, not the white meat, the dark. He also had the "skin" on his mashed potatoes. Really??!! The last order was the nutty chicken salad with grilled chicken and goat cheese on top. The goat cheese was moldy, yellow and hard in spots and when we told the waiter, he got the manager. Everybody had the one place they go on a regular basis to hang out, and this one is mine. I eat here at least once a week and usually more often than that. The food is consistently good throughout the menu. There's nothing I an point at and say "avoid this". The prices are reasonable, and because there are coupons printed on the bottom of all the sales slips, my cost is almost always discounted. The burgers are excellent and varied. Ribs are good, as are the steaks. If you just want a snack, the starters list has some nice choices (my personal favorite is the Kettle Chips). The staff is generally attentive. Ask for Bri, she'll take excellent care of you. My only word of warning is if you are planning on eating late night (as opposed to drinking late night), I'd avoid sitting at the bar and get a booth. I've found the bartenders are more interested in pouring drinks than serving food (this is not an issue during the day). read more

Let's start off by saying that I really like the restaurant, but tonight's meals fell really short. I got the brisket sandwich with peppers and a side of fire roasted corn. The sandwich was barely edible. All I tasted was grease. The was no flavor to the meat or peppers. Very disappointed. The fire roasted corn was good, but again there was no fire flavor. The wings were really good. The service was nice, but I was not a big fan of my waitress at that time. You know that it was about 5pm so there was not a lot of customers, and my waitress just tried to let different part of customers sit next table and next table while they have a big restaurant. So my girl and I just drove all the way from Miami and I was starving. We came out looking for soup, at 12:30am everything was close and we saw the "open until 2am" sign. I'm so sad to write this review. This was like a childhood staple for me. When we walked in there was no one at the podium and I had to walk around and find someone to seat us. I always came here to get mozzarella sticks when I was younger and after having a rough day I thought "Smokey bones!" and came here for dinner. Didn't have mozzarella sticks anymore, ok that sucks but fine. We got the fried pickles and they were ...disgusting. There was so much grease and they were on the cusp of being burnt. We didn't finish them. Maybe had something to do with the fact that I could hear the kitchen crew talking to the servers over the window for like 15 minutes non-stop? We got the drinks which was one of the few pros to dinner. I got the white wine sangria and it was refreshing and delicious. My wife got a beer and liked it. I mean it's Stella so whatever. I got the brisket sandwich, and it looked literally nothing like the picture on the menu. It came on a different bun with charred ends. It was subpar at best. I got the Mac n cheese and left half of it over if that tells you anything. My wife got the morning burger and it was delicious! The sweet potato fries were amazing. I wish I could remember our server's name, she was so sweet, and wonderful. The ambience is familiar and comfy; we were one of maybe four families in the whole restaurant during peak rush hour for normal restaurants and it was dead dead dead. We'll be back but only to try the crazy milkshakes. And if those aren't great we'll probably never come back. :( read more

This is a restaurant that is priced like it's not a chain, except it is a chain. That being said, never ever go here without one of the coupons that they usually have available, and sign up for their e-mail deals and offers, because paying full price for their food just isn't worth it. At the very least, you can get $5 off a $15 (or if you're luckier, $10 off $20), which is like the clearance rack of food coupons. During the last two visits I tried to order the Beer Can Chicken. When the first time proved unsuccessful (because apparently they only make a small number of these every day yet still have it as a regular item on the menu), I ordered the BBQ Chicken, I think, but clearly nothing was memorable enough to remember. It's like ordering McDonald's or Taco Bell at 2 a.m. after a night of drinking, you don't care what you eat, you just know you want food. The same concept applies here. In the name, "Bar" comes before "Grill", meaning come here for a drink and when you get hungry, order some food. It will probably taste better if you do it that way too. The food isn't "bad" necessarily, it's just not memorable, nor is it worth the prices they charge without a coupon, so if you don't have one, having a few drinks before paying may help ease the pain when you get the bill. The Beer Can Chicken which I WAS able to get on my last visit (as that server told me they only make 4-6 per day?!?) was ok, I didn't taste much of the beer flavor though. The side of dirty rice was bland and the guac/salsa side was confusing. I guess because they used Dos Equis beer they felt the need for Mexican-style sides? I don't know. What I do know is that the wishbone I had managed to salvage from the chicken and set aside to take with me, disappeared. The story goes, if you dry it out for a few days, then find someone to pull the other end with, both of you make a wish and whoever gets the bigger piece when pulled has their wish granted. Anyway, the wishbone was apparently snatched off the table by the server, yet when asked if he took it, he acted confused and said he took "something" off the table and threw it away. Funny how he managed to miss a lot of trash still left on the table. When I asked about the wishbone, he said he would go check to see if he could get it out of the trash, but came back and said they just took the trash to the dumpster. That felt like a lie. The $5 off $15 coupon I had helped ease the pain a little, but after this experience, any future coupons I get will likely be redeemed at another location. read more

Usually go to the Waterford location which is always all round good as far as service and food. This location however is much slower in reference to how long it takes to get drinks and food. It took approx. 20m to get our bar drinks and the food came out much later although the resturant was maybe at a quarter capacity. I had the Texas brisket which was good but just a little dry but the mustard BBQ sauce made it all better. The server was nice but the bar and kitchen was way too slow. I love smokey bones and eat here a lot. This is my first really poor experience and its two-fold. My pulled Pork came out burnt and dry. I told the server Yessenia and she said don't eat anymore and I will get the manager. I waited over 15 mins, lost my appetite and the manager never came out so I started packing up the food that I could take to go for tomorrow. I paid and then find out Yessenia forgot to ring up my to go order. I see the manager chatting at a distance. He finally comes over...o don't think she told him about my situation and definitely not service recovery.
