I can only speak of the loaded potato with chopped meat; so good! I've never ordered anything else. A potato with butter, cheese, sour cream, and green onions which is then topped off with hot, chopped, barbecue meat. The hot meat traps the toppings so you get this nice gooey, cheesy, potato mess. I love to eat it with jalapeños and pickles on top. I crave these every few months. They are definitely not something to eat often, but when that craving hits, it is the best! read more

I was in town on business and decided to stop in. It was during the week in the evening. The place was not very crowded. On my first visit I had a cheeseburger basket. They cooked it fresh and served it with fresh cut & cooked french fries. On my second visit (next night) I enjoyed the two-meat combo. All in all, very good fresh tasty food! I would definately go back when I am in the Houston area. On a side note, the staff was very friendly, polite, and attentive. As a BBQ enthusiast, I'm sad to say I was a bit disappointed. The smoke ring was almost non existent on the brisket, leaving me to douse my meal with BBQ sauce which was extremely reminiscent to Rudy's sauce... The buttered potatoes were devoid of both butter and flavor and the cream corn was just plain. The service however, was good and the staff polite. Staff seemed lost- no system to figure out what table ordered what meal. We watched a baked potato order circle the room twice then get taken outside and then brought back in and returned behind the cash register. Wait was longer than expected for the type of place and seemed more than a little pricey. Ordered a piece of carrot cake which turned out to be stale. Men's restroom door doesn't latch- has a sign stating to "knock loudly- wait- listen- and then come in". they were out of clean forks- had to use a spoon for our meat plates. Brisket, fried okra, and potato salad were ok. Chopped beef was too salty and greasy. Overall- NOT a good experience and we will not be returning! Sausage wrap was served on a cold store bought tortilla. Sausage below average. The burger was a small frozen patty on a cold bun. Brisket obviously not smoked on a wood pit, flavorless. Service was okay. Nothing special. Food was pretty good, I got the sliced brisket sandwich with French fries and a banana pudding. Fries were pretty good, but tasted like it was cooked in old oil. Sandwich was good and the bbq sauce is decent. Unfortunately I am extremely disappointed with the banana pudding. It was offensive. There were ZERO bananas in it and there was hardly any pudding. Very good BBQ for a great price. I used to go to spring creek BBQ because of the good environment but smokey mo's prices are almost half of every other place I have been. Friendly service. Save your money go to Applebee's, wild wings or one of the many other places surrounding to eat the employees are beyond RUDE!!! The white younger girl at the register makes a loud comment of WE SHOULD START CHARGING PEOPLE WHO JUST COME IN TO USE THE RESTROOM as I walked in the restaurant first to use the restroom to then place an order for food for my husband and I who was at the urgent clinic 2 mins away. Upon hearing that I walked back to say excuse me then to be told it's ok go ahead your good. I then come out of the restroom very bothered by the apparent ignorance of this semi young employee that I asked who made the comment to which the white girl said I did and explained that they have a lot of people who come from next door to only use the restroom and make a mess so I then said I was actually here to buy food but by being greeted with such ignorance I changed my mind. I feel sorry for the owners of this place being in the times of struggle I can't imagine this place is making so much profit it can afford the loss of business not only from me but so many others who value how they are treated upon entering a place where they spend their hard earned money!!!! read more

Stopped by this joint on the way out of town. Not a big fan of fast food, so we decided to give this place a shot. We ordered a baked BBQ potato with all of the fixings and a BBQ sandwich. A bit overpriced for the amount of food we received. Potato was small; nothing compared to the large ones that Pappas serve up. Our BBQ sandwich had little BBQ meat. =( The food didn't taste too fresh and the portions were small. We've had MUCH better BBQ at other places. Nothing to brag about here. They have a prime location right off the freeway, but they aren't really putting it to much use. Customer service could use some help, you could tell that the workers were just dying to get off work. Very poor. I asked them for Extra Lean Brisket and they gave me all fat pieces. Not one piece was edible. Drove 30 minutes to pick up food from there and didn't notice it until I got back home. Also, the banana pudding tasted like cleaning products and had chunks of black in it. read more

Overall, it was OK. The grill wasn't clean and the staff was highly unorganized. I ordered a baked potato with chopped beef. The beef is more like sloppy Joe. The taste wasn't bad. I added their spicy bbq sauce. It make the potato salty though. Once looking at the bottles of bbq sauces (that are all on the tables), it states that it needs to be refrigerated after opening. Not sure if we were to leave our plates on the table, and no trash cans. read more

The food is mediocre. Their chicken tacos run the risk of having too much sour cream added to them if you don't tell them otherwise. If you like a little chicken taco with your sour cream this won't be a problem for you. If you use their drive-thru and order a drink, make sure to ask for "easy on the ice". Otherwise, they'll fill your $2.00 drink cup all the way to the top with ice and you'll be lucky to get a few sips out of it before it's empty. Their breakfast tacos were horrible the last time I had them. The sausage in their sasuage/egg/cheese tacos looked and tasted like it was at least a few days old, reheated and reused. Their BBQ fares a little better than the items I mentioned above. The times that I've ordered BBQ, I've had their brisket and sausage. The staff is friendly and the dining area is clean. read more

Super convenient location just off 45 & 3083 in Conroe. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and tidy everything was; no trays scattered all over table or dirty utensils laying around behind the counter. The staff was super nice and we're quick to get orders completed. I had a chopped beef sammich on a perfectly toasted bun anda sideof pinto beans. I waited in the drive thru for 15 min behind two cars and then backed out to go inside to find one lady cutting meat for both the drive thru and the dine in orders. She told me once I ordered that it would be a minute because she had to cut 3 lbs of meat for the people at the window. Another 15 min go by with two young men twiddling their thumbs behind her. At one point she ran out of plates and had to stop and walk to the back to get it herself. A lady from the back finally came out, took someone's order then told the lady cutting the meat how to cut it. This was before she had gotten to cut my order! Then she went back to the back! You guys sell meat for a living and only have one person qualified to cut the meat? I am truly disappointed in the way this place is being managed. This morning I stopped in for a breakfast taco (which was amazing btw), and while I waited for my to go order, two police officers came in. They ordered their breakfast tacos and as one officer pulled out his wallet, the gentleman working the counter told him not to worry about it. "I got it. I appreciate what you guys do. This place sucked, smoke ring..... There are no pits , you didn't notice the lack of smoke coming from any side of the building!!! Baked meat with liquid smoke does not equal Barbeque . There has to be the correct amount of smoke and flame to be called BBQ. I had a pot roast with BBQ sauce :( Over priced very over priced. The sauce was one sided and dull. The pickles were cheap, onions had turned a creepy dingy yellow. I would rather break in to an old age home and look at knees all day instead of eating at this place again. Ok, first thing, this is a fast food chain for bar b q, but I am definitely satisfied with it, it's affordable and the food size is good. My wife is a tough customer when it comes to burgers, she won't eat five guys, or just about any other fast food burgers but, she really enjoyed their burger. Foods always hot. The brisket was very tender and flavorful. The sauce was delicious, with just the right amount of spice. The was better with each bite. The buttered potatoes were in need of a little salt, but they were cooked very well. The corn on the cob was some of the juiciest i've ever had. I'm very glad I stopped by for dinner. read more

While the food is always good, this place really needs to work on customer service. I frequent the drive thru a lot because I like the food, but the first couple of times I've gone, I was rushed through my order and interrupted before I could finish. Just got food from there today and instead of cheese and pickles, I had to park my car and wait, got a plain burger slathered in ketchup and pickles. No cheese. That's really sloppy work to me and not worth the tip I left. Please chat with your employees and work on improving the service part. I wrote a review of my poor experience and it did not post... to make my long post short, I only got BARELY 1/2 pound of actual meat that I could eat....out of 1 1/2 pounds I paid for.... 3 pieces were nothing but bone.... It was drive up and did not find my problem until I got home ... When I went back today the manager on duty advise I take my chances with BBQ ribs. I've eaten tons of bbq in my life and Smokey Mo's is near my new apartment so we tried it last week. I'd gotten some not so stellar reviews by others but decided to try it anyway. The place was dead when we went in on Saturday night and one person in our group was served at the counter while they swiped her cc. We ordered two more plates and two burgers. As one of us sat there with food growing cold, the rest sat with nothing. The two plates came out about 10 minutes later. The meat was cold and so were the beans and okra. Then we had to wait another several minutes for the burgers to come out. The prices aren't high, but for what we paid I'd much much rather go into The Woodlands and eat at Pit Masters on Rayford, even if it is 15+ minutes down the road. For the food to not all be served at once and then for it to not even be the proper temp. The sauce they had on the table wasn't very good either. And their options for plates are limited. No combo plates with more than one meat. The sausage I had lacked flavor and the pork that one of my friends had was dry. The potato salad could use some flavor and the okra didn't taste like anything. I was so disappointed! The staff wasn't friendly either. read more

The BBQ is nothing to write home about and due to the nearly $13 just for a lunch break meal, I will not be coming back. The place is clean and what not but ordering took forever and I had talked to 3 different people before I was done ordering. I'll pass next time. read more
