First of all after we made and paid in full for our reservation you sent us a email offering a 20% discount but because we had already made and paid ours we didn't qualify for it. It would have been nice if we had been offered while we were on the phone with you originally! Secondly the cafe was not open during the week and that is not in your advertising either! There grass in row G is completely dead and full of stickers....not good for RV carpet!!!! I feel like something should be done about all the bird poop down by the water also! Camped at that resort for many years, and last couple years it's been challenging to stay positive about our experience. This year we decided that we will NEVER COME BACK here again, unless some changes done. The Staff approached us about too many vehicles parked at camp site, really rudely, and when pointed to the web site about rules they said its now new management and new rules, then same thing about smoking policies, but there no smoking policies anywhere to be found. Visitors still smoke weeds at camp sites after hours, but afterhours there're probably different rules. No quiet time at all, loud music till 1 am and then at 6 am visitors leaving camp sites and disassembling trailer with hammer loud explosions. This time it was the hot tub that was not working for the whole stay. The MOST FRUSTRATING was NO HAMMOCK policies. This stay was ruined, this vacation had bitter aftertaste. Be Wary During my and my girlfriend's camping trip in mid September Friday-Saturday, we got HARRASSED!! While driving to our tent site there were a couple of things that I noticed: A camper across from us was staring us down, and we were the only non-white people there. (only two of us). We got there around 5pm. While checking out our tent site, there was a "Lawn Watering Schedule" posted on a tree. It was scheduled for Monday-Friday at 1am, 2:30am, and 4am for our site. In the middle of the night, I heard the sprinkler and thought it was weird that it was on because it was Saturday . I eventually went back to sleep since we only had our camping chairs by the picnic table side. I was then awakened once more because the sprinkler started spraying on the tent area side. The water did get inside but luckily we were able to move it in time before it got drenched. I looked around and noticed the sprinkler was only on for our site and two nearby us. We ended up sleeping in the car for the rest of the night, since there wasn't anyone that we could address this to at that time- around 3am.(which ruined the camping experience) The following morning, my girlfriend spoke to the office manager Cindy, to inform of what happened. She was not helpful and didn't seem apologetic at all. She mentioned that it shouldn't have been on and the only way was if someone had turned it on. We arrived at the campground with high hopes for a tranquil and beautiful setting for our 43' fifth wheel, based on the information available online. A few days prior to our visit, we received an email outlining some rules, including that the gate would be closed and locked from 10 pm to 7 am, which we appreciated for added security. However, upon arrival, we noticed that the grounds appeared somewhat neglected. The grass was overgrown in areas, with some spots measuring about calf-high, while others were filled with weeds and dirt patches. Checking in was straightforward, but we found the store to be quite sparse, with limited products available. We had friends planning to visit, so we inquired about the gate situation and were informed that there were no gates and it would remain open. After check-in, we had to navigate the campsite to find our designated spot without assistance, relying only on a map. We had rented a premium site in row D, which was marketed as the longest and widest with level pads. Unfortunately, our pad barely accommodated our fifth wheel, with the slide-outs extending onto a narrow grass area. And when people camped next to us they were right at our windows. Additionally, the fire pit installation, being non-moveable and located under low-hanging branches, posed a concern. We encountered challenges with our dog fence due to the uneven terrain, requiring us to find makeshift solutions to keep our pet contained. When our guests arrived at night, one of them tripped over an improperly secured wooden border and sustained an injury. On Saturday, we visited the store with our children, only to find out it was closed for the weekend. The owner mentioned he could assist with specific items but discouraged window shopping, citing staff overtime concerns. Additionally, we were approached by salespeople attempting to pitch RV products as we exited. While the campground's rules emphasized the need for pet owners to clean up after their dogs, there were no dog stations available, compelling us to walk to the far end of the campground to dispose of waste due to a lack of garbage cans throughout the site. There was only one. Throughout our stay, we did not see any staff members patrolling the area to enforce rules or maintain cleanliness, which was disappointing compared to other RV parks we have visited. Although the website mentioned boat rentals, we were unable to locate any and did not see any staff available to assist with inquiries. A tent site was positioned directly across from the playground, where the occupants spent the day smoking marijuana outside their tent. The odor was quite strong, and I could smell it even from the opposite side of the campground. This diminished the family-friendly atmosphere, and unfortunately, we were unable to locate anyone to address the issue. Additionally, the campground is located adjacent to a major highway, resulting in noticeable traffic noise during the night, which was disruptive, especially in the premium sites. Finally, we experienced issues with our campsite not being level as advertised, as our sewer line ran uphill, leading to additional cleaning challenges upon disconnection. We ended up leaving a day early because we were disappointed in our experience. Overall, while we had hoped for a positive experience, there were several areas that fell short of our expectations. Luckily we went on the off season so the price was cheaper but I would be extremely upset if I paid peak season prices for this rv park and got the experience I did. We splurged for a campsite here (2-3x the cost of a state campground) because of the amenities and it looked so much nicer and the sites looked larger on the website. First day, we pull up and there is so much trash overflowing from the dumpsters and surrounding the dumpsters. It stunk in the heat and our site was just about 50 yards away. Apparently, they save money by not getting another dumpster and this is a weekly occurrence, full by Friday and picked up on Monday. The wifi does not work. According to regulars, it never works. THE WORST PART is the BATHROOMS! When we checked in, I asked twice for the staff to service the bathroom because it was filthy and soap dispenser is empty. About 24 hours later, somebody "cleaned" the bathroom by hosing it down, but there is no drainage near the toilets and the floor dips, so each toilet has about 1-2" of brown sludge water you have to step in to use the toilet (this is what they consider clean!) Can't they mop it up or wet vac out the filthy water? Three days later, soap is still empty after 2 more attempts and the bathrooms are sooooo nasty. The pool is nice and cool, but they don't vacuum the algae or net it out. They have been treating with chlorine, I know this because they don't start until the late morning so the pool is never open by the 10am advertised time. It's literally the only way to get cool here, so we are absolutely swimming in it. The big draw of Smokiam is Soap Lake, the healing waters and mud. I fortunately this end of Soap Lake is downwind and all the gross stuff in the lake washes ashore here. I got stuck in sinking duck poop mud trying to reach the water, my youngest kid fell over onto the mud and starting puking. We now just drive to the south end of the lake for a nice beach. Another thing - management is nowhere to be found. Somebody lives on site, but they are hiding behind a huge staff of teenagers who have to deal with so many angry people and they have zero decision-making power. The teens aren't trained to do all the things necessary to run a campground, so they mostly just hang out around the front desk and drive the gold carts around and apologize to all the pissed off campers. There is definitely enough man power here to turn this place around, but there is nobody training or managing the young staff. I heard they used to have 3 housekeepers and cut it to one housekeeper, and all the kids who work here don't clean the bathrooms or refill soap. Pros: each site has its own power outlet and water source. Once the lights go out, the sky is amazing. Tons of shooting stars and I could see the Milky Way each night just bare eyes. read more

First and last time we ever going to stay here. Apparently it used to be great because my family been coming here for over 10 years and I made reservations based on their recommendation. Our experience has been less than stellar, pool not skimmed or ever seen anyone even check it, hot tubs are broken and closed, bathrooms stay dirty. Sprinklers will get your belongings wet, there is a schedule posted for watering, but it's not correct and our stuff got soaked at 3am. Noise curfew is not being enforced, people arriving and setting up camp at 2-3 am. Place is ran by teenagers, currently the oldest person in charge is 17 years old and they sell beer, complete violation of Washington state rules. Lots more not to par, but I ain't got that kind of time. read more

Smokiam used to be one of our favorite camping spots that we would visit regularly with our family. But after this recent visit August 2024 we will NOT be returning. It's quite a shame, but we wanted to warn anyone who is thinking of coming here. - Bathrooms were not cleaned for the 5 days we were there. They were a bio hazard. Feces on the floor, no toilet paper, soap, black sludge everywhere. -Pool is neglected with algie growing. And gets closed unexpectedly for days. -adult hot tub was yellow with a dirty diaper floating in it. - regular hot tub was closed -sauna is like a hot urine chamber, with brown sticky 2" sludge everywhere. -dumpsters were overfilling and in the hot sun they made the whole park smell horrible. Staff is great, restrooms are clean and the grounds are beautiful, but there is absolutely NO ONE after 9pm and NO ONE to enforce quite time rules!!! People partied until almost 1am keeping us up super late, and at almost 2 am a large group of campers came in and are SUPER LOUD!!!! ITS 3AM AND THEY ARE STILL SETTING UP!! THERE IS NO NUMBER TO CALL AND REPORT. They website says no entry after 9pm. The website also says the fine people or kick them out for breaking the quiet hours rule!! We'll find out in the morning. We enjoyed our stay. The staff went above and beyond. Sadly some kids parents let them play at the pool without supervision causing the staff to have to come out multiple times. I appreciated that when the power went out we were all notified and then again when the pool was back open. I feel like the staff are constantly on the move and do it with kindness. Got there and was told by the man if they'd known a couple hrs earlier they could of had them come back and clean. Well if the girl I talked to 2 hrs earlier would of had some initiative you could of made more $. Bad customer service. Tent spots were closer than apartments with parallel parking. All open no trees to separate you from your neighbors or the main toad. Kids running around til midnight. Bugs! And yes you can hear the loud constant street traffic from the highway. We visited this RV Resort based on the fact they offer a discount to Passport America members, which we are. This was the first RV park we had visited that took the Passport America card and we were satisfied with the RV Park. The spots are a bit dirty and the spots are smaller. The washroom is not incredibly clean nor dirty and the laundry room leaves some desire. The one huge benefit was the WiFi, this park had a very reliable WiFi network. During our two-day stay, I never once reverted to our MiFi cards. The park itself is starting its winter lock down, so it was under 20% filled when we were there. The location of the park on the lake was a bonus; the morning view was something I enjoyed each morning. The proximity to the highway was negative, large trucks would occasionally roll by and shake our RV even though we were a few rows in. Would I recommend this park? Sure, it is a nice place to visit for a few days. Will we come back? Probably not, unless we were just passing through. Informational: We travel in a 36' Class A RV. read more

We stayed at Smokiam on the way to Walla Walla. We considered staying 2 nights, but decided not to, given the cost (spendy) and the location (next to the highway). Went for a swim in the lake - to try out the healing properties of Soap Lake. We coated ourselves in mud - and stood on the shoreline to let the mud dry and the healthy effects soak in. After a rinse, we were back to the campsite. Stayed in F10 (back in site) which had some shade and a nice grassy area with a picnic table. Borrowed some DVDs to watch a movie (free) and they had decent wi-fi (especially with our booster). Limited cell coverage (if any) for AT&T. 2 out of 5 due to cost and noise. There are spots further from the roadway. read more

Group of 7 rented out a tipi and it was amazing. The staff was extremely friendly and let us do a late check in. It was our first time glamping and we didn't know what to expect. First of all, it's very clean. The bathroom was spotless and you can tell everything was made and is maintained with care. Overall good stay. We liked the grounds, the management and enjoyed being able to have a fire in the fire pit. We didn't love how close the sites were even though we got a "premium site" however our biggest complaint was the WiFi. Actually, let me clarify; you won't have WiFi and if you have AT&T you won't have cell service either. We really wanted to check out some local trails and local breweries but without being able to search without leaving the property it kinda sucked. When we inquired they said they are working on it but after talking to other guest who have been there before this seems to be an ongoing problem since the ownership changed. We saw a local telecommunications company in Epharta that could help with that and considering its something that is advertised it's something that should be addressed. It would also been nice to know that when you check in considering the check in process is lengthy (not complaining, they did as much as they could with COVID which was appropriate and appreciated). Maybe have some sort of local attraction flyer with numbers, hours etc so if you can't access internet you'll be able to know what is around you- which is a lot! The lake is warm but it does have a strong sulfur smell and it is mud for the first few feet once you get past that though it's not bad. Overall we're on the fence on whether we'd stay again. Down the road is Sun Lakes State with a few more amenities we'd like to have but the customer service was amazing. I think there's some great potential and I'm eager to see what the new management does with this property. read more

We had a great time! The campground is well kept with lots of green grass. The pool area is very nice and you can see the beautiful lake from it. I wish we could have ordered food and drink poolside but we just brought our own. We stayed in the cottage that was just too cute for words. It was very tastefully decorated and clean. I would like to stay in a tepee sometime. We didn't experience the bad smell from the lake. We floated and played around in it and had fun. It will be even better when the dock is in place. We have a wheelchair and needed some different accommodations - Denis, Beverly and the whole campground staff were very attentive, helpful and friendly. Thank you for a great week:) read more

The park advertises WIFI, and you pay for it in the campsite fees. However, there is none. Hasn't been any for some time and the staff give the same answers every time you ask. The day we checked in the Wi-Fi was going to be fixed that day or the next day. It was not. Asked again and they said they were working on it. It did not work all week. I planned on working some from camp but was unable to do so. The pool water quality was dangerous. I know, I have taken care of pools my whole life and I work in the water business. Over crowed tents sites with multiple tents and many more people than the three stall bathrooms can handle. Filthy, unhealthy conditions. To top it off for the week, there was no water for part of one day in the park and the toilets could not be flushed. Guess what followed? Park rules, pool rules are not followed or enforced. With what appeared to be almost full capacity of the park one would think that a lifeguard could be hired for the pool. Too many people in the pool, poor water quality, you couldn't even see your own feet in five feet of water. Sadly a 7-year-old girl almost drowned but was saved by the UPS driver. I have to agree with other reviewers. I had a similar experience here. Very popular crowded campground. Full hook-ups on our P1 back in site. The pool area is nice, and being close tot he Lake is the whole draw. Resort has rule that anything on the grass gets wet as they run the sprinklers nightly at 12 midnight to 3 am. Which makes it tedious having to move crap back and forth each night. I probably would not come back again. There are better places to be had furth er north up 17 closer to the Dam. Moses or Banks Lake. The resort advertises TENT SITES, but the E row sites don't look like the TENT SITES ADVERTISED. Half of my group had to sleep on dirt ground. Website shows tent sites have soft framed tent pad and grass. These sites were worse than state park sites. In the end all things considered I was a bit disapointed. read more

This place is way over crowded for the space and the things they have to offer. The pool hot tub is way too crowded, the lake smells bad play ground has to many kids. Over selling the tent spots and allowing 15 to 20 people per tent spot with family day passes it impossible to enjoy any of the improvements they have made. It to bad the owners where nice. Would not recommend this to someone trying to have a getaway for a couple of days maybe just for overnight in a pinch. read more

I enjoyed this place. Definitely not a "in the woods" camp experience, but that's obvious so I don't know why people are giving low stars for an obvious thing. This is soap lake and you come for the lake, to soak in the water and rub the mineral mud on your skin. It's a very unique experience. Our camp site had a nice space for our tent and grassy area with a picnic table. Yes, spaces are close. But I also think that is a cool thing about this place. It's more like an inexpensive vacation spot than an outdoor wood spot. If you want that, you shouldn't be looking in this area or a RV resort anyway. Pool is nice, bathroom facilities are nice, and you can't beat the lake for the mineral benefits. Service was wonderful. Left my necklace here by the pool and didn't call them for a month to ask if they found it, and they still had it and mailed it to me. This place was great for what it is: an RV resort with good amenities, soap lake right there, and good facilities. read more

Off season...late Sept...not at all busy. Soap Lake RV Resort looked good from a distance, but as we got closer, I got some bad feelings. I'll give you the highlights and you can draw your own conclusions. If you don't like a smelly muddy lake, plenty of road noise, and septic backing up into the bathrooms when you flush, then it won't be hard for you to decide. Saturday afternoon arrival: went ok. Good hookups. No need for armbands (only used in the summer because we drove on our way to Spokane just to "check it out" due to other reviews.) We both noted that the resort is right next to the main highway, with little sound barriers available. Hmm...hope its not noisy at night. It was (but that wasn't a reason to leave early...just part of RVing and not in the control of the owner.) Saturday evening: walk out to the lake. It is ringed with "white" (due to the mineral content), but it is not like a lake or ocean shore...it is muddy beyond belief (we see a local kid go down to his ankles) and it smells like the WA coast...not good (and I LIVE in WA!) There is nowhere to walk...just mud and broken concrete and dirty crummy rocks. BUT...that's not the fault of the owner...that's the way nature is when its the end of summer and the lake is down. Still...I was disappointed. Saturday night: My wife complained to me of a "sewer-smell" in the women's restroom. She noted that one toilet was labeled "broken" and that brown water was coming from it into the adjacent stall. She came over and used the men's while I stood guard (not many at the resort due to the forest fires smoke and time of year). I only used the urinal, so no worries...but the men's also had a broken toilet (or so the sign said.) Sunday morning: When my wife showered, she said it still was stinky. She was not comfortable and wondered if we should leave (and that's odd for her...she's pretty cool about such things.) And by the way, we didn't sleep at ALL well in the night due to the heavy truck traffic...but not the resort's fault. Ok...I go shower. Warm shower...no worries. Shave and go back. We talk and I tell her that I really am leaning towards calling O'Sullivan's Sportsman's Resort in Othello about coming over early 3 days early. We are undecided over our breakfast. I need to go "Number two". Go in to the only working toilet and, as is my habit, flush it. It empties as normal and then I hear...gurgling. I see the water backing up from the floor drain (thankfully somewhat clear) and realize its going to fill the floor, so I hike up my pants, step through it (glad I'd just bought new leakproof sneakers) and get out of there. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN! I have a home septic system and I know you need to pump it, especially with all the mud and crud coming in from the lake. Its been weeks since the last holiday, so no reasons for this that I know of. Deal-breaker. I go to my wife and tell her: we are leaving today...now...begin packing for the 30 mile drive. Now, as I handle the facilities for our service center, I'd normally go and let someone know. But its Sunday and I don't see anyone. And...I get the feeling (from other reviews) that things like this are more "the norm" than unusual. I decide to just leave and let them figure it out when (if) they go clean/check the restroom twice daily as they should. Result: this place was just not my cup of tea. Fine for some, especially if you are self-contained, but I didn't want to deal with it or make my wife deal with it. Just be aware of what you might be getting into and make your own decision. read more

I love this place! The new owners have done amazing things this summer. The new play area is so cool it seems to be the first place kids want to go. The pool is looking good with very plush poolside lounges and chairs. There is saturday night smores provided by the owners. New cabins that are beautiful. I heard tee pees are on the way. Rules have been implemented and enforced to try and ensure everybody has a wonderful time. Sites all have new picnic tables and there are chairs down by the water to relax in. Oh and the new beach, sand was brought in to make the beach more attractive and easier on the feet. If you haven't been in awhile check it out. If you have never been you need to try it. Go at your own peril. If rats are your thing, then this is the place for you! Our tipi was infested with rats and rat droppings and the staff was less than sympathetic. They refused to place us elsewhere and then refused a refund on top of that! My husband and I were very nice about the whole situation too, we could have made a scene in front of other guests but chose not to. They made it seem like rats are to be expected while "camping" in the tipi. They said they set rat traps frequently and try their best to keep it clean. I'm sorry but that is not good enough for me! If we had kids in there and they were playing on the ground they could've gotten sick or worse, bitten by a damn rat! Will be reporting to the health department. read more

The beach is full of little bugs--not ants, but in similar numbers...fleas, maybe?--so the kids cannot dig in the sand at what would otherwise be a nice beach. They could definitely use some general pest control at their beach--we got eaten alive by mosquitos sitting in lawn chairs in their grass by the beach for the 4th of July this year, and the bathrooms were absolutely horrendous with clogged toilets in the women's room and a *VERY* cloudy pool and hot tub. I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1 because other times we've been here, the pool and hot tub have been absolutely crystal clear and sparkling and the bathrooms have been immaculate, so I'm assuming that the staff just couldn't keep up with the huge crowd over the holiday weekend--still a foul on them, as they should have more staff for these occasions. read more

I would only recommend this place if you needed a place to stay for the night ! That is because they have really up graded the park and the spots are nice. As far as it goes for a great family park well I think it depends on what culture you are from ! I am really surprised that they don't ask what country you are from before they rent you a spot. Now don't be think I am some racist writing this post because when one of the 4 sale people who go around the park daily asking you to buy goods from the back of there car , my grandfather was from one of the counties he asked if I knew how to speak language from . The minute I said no he quickly new English! The whole problem is really not the so much the type of people but it look or feels noting like campground. The owner talks of all the up grades I personally think the should go with a W. I. C. Clinic next . I have never seen so Many pregnant women in one spot . they are over renting each tent spot , the husband goes out to work all day and leave the women and child back at the campground. I would have to say and average of 12-15 people per spot ! I would have to two family share a spot ! With all this being said it makes everything crowed ! From the 3 toilets , 3 shower stalls ,The pool the hot tub ,Playground ! The lake is not normal lake so you just can't play in it compromise this place is just no fun ! read more

I changed my mind completely about this place. It was great at first, and the owner was really nice. They also kept everything clean, and the bugs were under control. Then, I don't know why, but the owner turned completely rude. I noticed that the place went up for sale, and someone (who knows the owner) told me that she's going bankrupt. She obviously no longer cares if the place is comfortable or even clean, and once I asked her a simple question and she bit my head off for "complaining" and it wasn't even a complaint. We had been staying there with the intention of living there a long time, and many others were living there as well, giving them a definite monthly income coming in, but us long term-ers were being treated like leeches or slime, and all of us left. I think she wants the place to go to hell so she can declare bankruptcy, and it's a crying shame. It is a gorgeous campground in a heavenly location, but she is ruining it completely. Hopefully nobody will get sick from the swimming pools or hot tubs. I sure wish I had a few million, I would buy the place for sure. I hope someone does before the place turns into a ghost town. Oh and the WiFi was slow at first, then it turned into a nightmare. The town of Soap Lake is a WONDERFUL place to be, though, so don't hesitate to come here when you have the chance. I live here in town now, and I miss the RV Park the way it was when I first moved here. Such a shame. read more

My husband and I stayed here at the end of August. We had to kill some time so we booked 3 nites here, that would give us a chance to check out this place, and go check out surrounding campgrounds. After traveling north to Coulee Dam and South to Moses Lake, and checking about 8 other campgrounds, we found Smokiam Rv Resort the best place for us. We normally like to do a little sightseeing, go to the pool, 5 o'clock cocktails, and cook out. We like a smaller place that we can walk around and not take the car to the pool, bath house, laundry, etc. So....our 3 days turned into 3 weeks. There are new owners as of 7/2014 (I think) and there is work going on here, they are making it a nicer place, and they are doing a great job of it. It was not disturbing to us. The pool and pool area was great, beach was nice, but we're from Florida, we have great beaches, grass at beach area green, nice chairs, picnic tables, lots of space for "yard" games (bocce, volleyball, etc ) beautiful new playground, movies at the pool one nite a week, and smore's on the beach. All really nice. And the staff.....as good as it gets. Really nice people in the front office and the maintenance staff too. As for the bad, yeah, the bathrooms could be better, but they are working on them. THIS IS GOING TO BE THE PLACE TO BE IN 2015. Although I would go back again today, but have to get back to those sandy white beaches in Florida. read more

Terrible experience! My wife and I were interested in the facilities at Smokiam, so thought we would check out the resort while passing through town. Drove up to the gate and were "greeted" by a young female gatekeeper in a very interrogating tone, "how can I help you..." (no "Welcome to Smokiam Resort" or anything even close). Stated that we would like to check out the resort and were scolded by a flat out, "sorry we can't allow that...people have been entering into the camp and staying illegally for free..." Another male groundskeeper chimed in that the resort was at full capacity. No apologies for the inconvenience or any other suggestions (here's a brochure, check out our website, etc.) other than basically to leave the premises. We were both dressed nicely and in our late model SUV, which made it all the more confusing as to why we were being prematurely judged in this manner as potential trespassers. The staff could definitely use some customer service training in my opinion, as this behavior was completely uncalled for. read more

Wow - this place hasn't been reviewed in a long time. We just spent the weekend and loved it! It looks like they have put a lot of effort into fixing it up - it was our first time there but you can tell a lot of stuff is new. We stayed in a most excellent family-size teepee. It was clean, comfortable and fun for the kids. Quiet at night and in the morning. The bathroom was over by the office/pool area which was just a short walk. It was clean and although it isn't huge, there was never a wait. They showed a kids' movie on the lawn down by the lake at dusk and that was fun. The front desk staff were super helpful and helped us pick a great hike today. We didn't get in the lake - the weather was a little cool and the pool was more appealing. But there is also mini-golf, volleyball, and wifi. Kids can run around and have fun, it is safe and friendly. Spectacularly beautiful setting! The town is small and cute. Will go back! read more

It's started turning gray in the Puget Sound and I wanted to chase the sun with my wife and kids. We'd never been to Soap Lake before and so we loaded up the motorhome and headed east for a couple night weekend stay at what seems to be the premier RV park in the area. We arrived much later on a Friday evening after trudging through Seattle metro's hellacious rush hour traffic. It was nice to be greeted by a friendly gent named Brad who turns out is the owner of the park. The friendliness didn't end there though because to a person, everyone we spoke to who worked there was awesome. These folks enjoy what they do and just seem to love life. The park itself was terrific for our three kids under 10. Nice playground, basketball courts, huge heated pool with one hot tub for families and another in an adults only poolside section. The sauna was roomy and heated very nicely. Two huge grass fields stand between the park and the lake. The shoreline is sandy but as you get to the water don't be deceived, you'll sink shin deep into odiferous sludge before you get to the firmer sand in the lake. My kids and I all lost our shoes and flip flops but had a good laugh. There's some basic but fun mini golf to be played as well as areas for horseshoes. It's all a testament to the super family-friendly vibe at the park. Needless to say we'll back for sure. read more

We just got home after 3 nights at Smokiam RV Resort. We stayed in a large family size teepee and we're overall very happy with the place. There is definitely renovations going on although it's not loud or anything. You can just tell there is unfinished projects. I'm sure they will be done by next summer and then this place will be even better. A few things...the previous review is right, the beach is not a beach. It's a mucky mess full of tiny jumping bugs that make it very unappealing to go into the lake. I think we saw one person in there the whole time we were there. I think it has something to do with the mineral lake water and the composites of the lake, not that the resort hasn't tried because you can tell there is sand but it's like hardened. So if you are going for the lake this isn't the spot. However, they are building a dock and when that is done I think to swim in the lake if you can bypass the gross entrance will be fun. And the view of the lake is beautiful! Instead of the lake the fun thing to do is the pool. We tried to save a seat in the morning but when we went back our stuff had been tossed to a table (see previous reviewer) but considering we were there mid week we didn't have too much trouble finding other chairs. The resort definitely keeps everything clean, including the bathrooms. We loved not paying for showers (no quarters, totally free) and there was never a wait. The bathrooms in the middle of the tent/rv section are under renovation so there's porta potties right now but when that bathroom is done it will be super nice. The little store inside the office is overpriced and not alot of selection but convenient for something quick and running to the big store in town is easy and close. They are working on the cafe still. We really liked the big playground for our son (he's almost 3) and we loved all the big grassy areas. We did kites a couple times. I saw people playing volleyball and there are 4 basketball hoops too. The teepees were so spacious and had AC (not all of them do so you have to check) and they had new furniture and we're pretty clean (but don't look under the bed and couch). The staff was friendly. So, overall we would definitely go there again but right now I'd give it 3.5 almost 4 stars, it's kind of half done but I think by next summer this place will be 5 stars for sure. read more

Stayed here for Memorial Day week-end. The staff is super friendly and the new owners are working very hard to make sure everyone is happy and comfortable. I highly recommend visiting this campground! The Passport America rate makes it the best value around. Clean sites! read more

This place has gotten ridiculous about prices. It's like trying to push a 5 star hotel with just a outside pool and 2 hot tubs. Lakes not even that swimmable for kids. Any ways take a 4 hour drive planned family vacation- joining your friends at the site turns out to be a fail because they have incorrect information posted online- they state a $10 guest pass up to 4. But actually they don't do that any more apparently and they charge $25 per person plus $10 for your car so actually racking up a hefty $110 just cuz they feel like it(oh and you gotta be out by 7.-says 8, but let make them get out by 7). This place used to be cool and fun but now you got these un-knowledged kids working the front desk/phone and don't really care about you. They need to stack up the budget to build a water park.. Ppl it's a camp site-sitting next to a free way, Need a water park there's Moses lake water park. Keep this up and hopefully ppl realize that $15 down the road camping isn't ganna kill ya. read more
