    Individual chicken and shrimp

One of the friendliest places I've been! Great customer service. Fried shrimp was delicious. Was a little sad the chicken wasn't battered like the cod but it was still good. Enjoyed our lunch there. The specials are good too!

I have been a fan of this restaurant for over 20 years. When you walk in, you will not be overwhelmed with decor or ambience, but what you were going to find is amazing seafood at a reasonable price. This is my first time eating here, since I moved away 10 years ago, and I was delighted to find that, despite new ownership, the food was as good as I remembered. I have traveled all over the country, and their clam chowder is probably the best I have ever had . If you were planning to eat here, I would suggest highly that you add the clam chowder to your order. You will not regret it. I ordered the two piece cod and it came with fries and coleslaw. Everything was fresh and delicious. Our table was clean and staff was quite friendly and helpful! They had made a mistake with one of our orders, and provided us with their dessert turnovers to even everything out and they are the only place that is still making turnovers in the deep fat fryer. I had the BlackBerry, which was delicious and everyone else had the Apple, and they said they were also quite amazing. They said they taste like the apple turnovers used to taste at McDonald's before they decided to be healthy lol! If you find yourself in Idaho Falls, I highly recommend that you make The Gang Plank one of your lunch or dinner stops. You won't regret it!

I had a hankering for Fish and Chips and The Gang Plank seemed like it would fit the bill. Me and the daughter zipped in to fulfill lunch needs. I got the Fish/Shrimp Combination and she got Chicken Nuggets. It was very tasty, not expensive and was an very pleasant experience. (The Shrimp sauce was quite notable!). The staff was very friendly in helping us make our lunch choices. Kind of a family feel here.

We are on our Mommy and daughter date and we thought we would end our fabulous evening here at my favorite fish joint in Idaho Falls.

Ordered cod, it was very mediocre and the tartar sauce was brown and tasted like it was made a month ago. I'm sorry but we'll never go back

Excellent fish and chips. try the cod first, it's the standard. Crab cakes were very good, a tad bit soggy for my taste but still excellent.

The clam chowder was watered down and bland. The fried halibut and prawns tasted like they should be from a drive thru restaurant.

Nice bonus when you walk in of heaters over benches if you have to wait! Place was packed and lots of smiling faces. Everyone working there was pleasant and said hello or goodbye with a smile. Our server was awesome throughout and made the experience top notch. What brought us in was noting the local sourced ingredients and reasonable prices on the menu. Both were true and did not disappoint. Beef is local along with the chicken. 3 of us got burgers and one a salmon skillet. The burgers are all waygu. Mine had a great beefy taste and was well seasoned. The burger can stand out on its own. My rattlesnake had guacamole, jalepeno, pepper jack cheese and bun sauce. Very tasty! Waffle fries were very good and the fry sauce was yummy. First time having fry sauce and I am hooked. Everyone else loved their burgers. Salmon was good. Loved the drop peppers in the dish! Definitely recommend this place whether a one time stop while in town or a local.

I heard the other desserts were phenomenal and the steaks were great! - carrot soufflé: highly recommend as a side! Very creamy and tasty and sweet - Gumbo: Louisiana-inspired gumbo with chicken, sausage, & vegetables. It was fine, just had no seasonings which was very confusing for me - Boudin Balls: Our Louisiana-seasoned mixture of pork, Cajun spices, & rice. Served with mustard remoulade sauce. Same as above. Just didn't have the seasonings. A little Tony's would've gone a LONG way - Toasted S'mores Cheesecake: Graham cracker base, smooth chocolate cheesecake, and fluffy marshmallow whipped cream, finished with toasted marshmallow and graham cracker crumbs. Our booth was right under the speakers so it was a bit loud. I made reservations for our anniversary and specifically called out that it was. Upon arriving the hostess asked how many and she went to seat us. I had to tell her that we had reservations. We were seated right next to the kitchen doors. The server came up pretty quick and wrote his name down on the paper. No comment about our anniversary. He seemed very new to the job. The New Year's Eve menu had blackened gator and I had to try it. When it showed up I was not impressed with presentation of the 5 pieces on the plate. The flavor however was great. Good texture and not chewy. Good win. I ordered the lobster and fillet and my wife got a chicken cobb salad. The waiter had to come back to ask how I wanted my steak. When it was brought out I was very underwhelmed. The lobster tail was in pieces. The fillet was horribly cut and looked like a kid butchered it. The lobster pieces were tough and overall not good. The fillet had good flavor but overcooked. My wife enjoyed her salad. The saving grace was the GM Aaron. He stopped by to ask how everything was an I gave him an honest review. He was very open and with us and I really appreciate his feedback. We will definitely come back to try the regular menu and looking forward to Salmon Wellington around Valentine's Day.

Famously known for their prime rib, French dip sandwiches, and the legendary Jaker's Baker, no trip…read moreto Idaho Falls is complete without stopping at Jakers. It's the perfect spot for hearty, traditional Midwestern comfort food. After all, how can you visit Potato Country without enjoying at least one perfectly baked potato? A little fun (and mostly useless) fact: Potatoes are typically harvested once a year in the fall and stored in underground bunkers. The ones you usually buy in stores are often nearly a year old. And if a potato starts to sprout? It simply becomes part of the next season's crop. The moment you walk in, it feels like stepping into a time machine. The interior is warm and cozy, with darker tones, rich red accents, wood-paneled walls, and glass partitions. There's even a mud room and a coat rack ready for those chilly Idaho winter nights. We were greeted and seated almost immediately. Our server introduced herself right away and took our drink orders with a smile. I went with the Ultimate Philly--tender, well-done strips of their famous prime rib, grilled onions and peppers, all smothered in a rich cheese sauce. It came with a side of au jus for dipping and your choice of side. I couldn't resist ordering the Jaker's Baker, a massive Idaho potato loaded with all the toppings. The prime rib was flavorful and juicy, and the baked potato was hearty and satisfying--the ultimate classic meat-and-potatoes meal. When I travel, I love experiencing local flavor, and Jakers delivers exactly that.
