The staff here is so lazy. Everything moves in slow motion and it's obvious they hate working here. There was one guy who killed it all the time, hustling, but he isn't there anymore. We go every day. It's not hard to make a smoothie. I used to work in a smoothie shop. An order goes on the screen and you make it. For some reason, it takes the workers 7 minutes to do so each day. Maybe if they took the earbuds out of their ears or didn't look at their phones they could move faster. The latest smoothie incident? I ordered my usual 32oz drink. I paid. They went to hand me a 20oz and they realized they were giving me the wrong size. She went and poured the 20oz into a 32oz cup, scrounged more of whatever she could out of whatever blenders she could find, and handed me the under filled cup. By this point there were a bunch of cars behind me and I was still trying to process what was going on. As I inched away, I realized I was underfilled. I was already late for heading back to work because I didn't anticipate waiting 10 minutes in a line where there were literally no other cars ahead of me, so I had no choice but to drive away. I want to start this review off by mentioned that I'm from Los Angeles so we kind of have our own smoothie ego when it comes to trying new ones, especially out of state. There's so many competitors in Los Angeles that all state they're the best and offer the best ingredients. I had been wanting to try smoothie king because my friends who live in all these midwestern states claim it's top tier. My first impressions were pretty good, this location is really clean and well maintained, I thought it was a new build out! Turns out they've been here for years. The staff welcomed me in and they weren't busy so they helped me decide what drink I could get and showed me that I can fully customize it and add delicious enhancements like vitamins and collagen to my smoothie. I waited for about 5 minutes, probably less, and I got my 32oz smoothie. Which I need to mention is HUGE and it was only $10. Something this big and this healthy in LA would be $15 and probably more. This smoothie is so delicious! I definitely wish we had smoothie king back in California! Hopefully they'll expand towards the west coast! read more

I ordered a smoothie bowl through the app at 8:20 pm a month ago. I arrived at the store and there was a lady at the door that stated their systems were down. I showed I ordered the bowl through the app, and asked if she could make my bowl. She then stated that they didn't get their truck today. I asked for a refund and she said she would have to do it in the morning. Of course, I was never refunded. I've called the store 10+ times and no one answered. I emailed the email address in the app and haven't heard back. I even went back to the store and asked for a manager and they said they were gone. I left my name and number and waited a week for them to call back. I called the store again and also emailed them again. I still have been contacted or refunded. I was happy to see a Smoothie King near the place I was staying because you get what you pay for and it's a lot of smoothie for a price you can't beat. I think it's worth my money compared to the other smoothie branch. I ordered the Immune Builder Mixed Berry and it was really tasty. It tasted fresh and it was not overloading in sweetness. I love smoothie king so much, but honestly, every time I come to this location I have hopes that the service will improve, but unfortunately it still hasn't gotten better. The workers here don't sound enthusiastic at all when you drive up to the drive-thru. It feels like I'm a burden or they must really hate their jobs. I just left the drive thru window and the lady just gave me my drink and didn't even say a word to me. Not even "have a good day" or "enjoy"... nothing! Also, the last time I came, they didn't have any bananas, and the time before that, it took a very long time to get my order. Who doesn't like smoothies. There's tons of choices. Also, they are doing cleaner blending in 2018, which means no added sugar and more whole vegetables and fruits. "High fructose, corn syrup, trans fat and gluten are out." The staff is always friendly. They have some type of rewards program in which I have been meaning to sign up for. Some say pour me up a shot of jack, I say pour me up a banana berry treat -extra berry and make that baby thickk. Smoothies are the elixir of life. The beauty of blended fruit, yogurt and milk is unparalleled and smoothie king has truly mastered this art. I got the banana berry treat and it was amazing. Every sip was heavenly. Sweet but not to sweet and I could taste every fruit advertised to be inside it. In no way is this an all natural smoothie or even a healthy one but you will enjoy it as a treat. My strongest recommendation is to always ask to make your smoothie 'thick.' Despite how weird it sounds, the flavor is better/more concentrated , the consistency makes it more filling, and you get to enjoy it for longer instead of slurping it up like juice. The smoothies are expensive. $6 for a small. Its not a meal replacement and I wasn't full so not the strongest bang for your buck but regardless 5 stars for a great drink.
