My condo board President had them do an estimate for water damage in August. I had called the company twice (not customer service, but either the President or the project manager) with no call back. I spoke with their customer service and asked for a follow up on the estimate related to a report my condo made on mold in the attic with no follow up. SMS did a really great job! We were desperate for someone to help us with a dead rodent related clean up. The smell was awful and our home didn't feel livable, but a bunch of companies kept telling us they wouldn't do this type of clean up. This company did a terrible job. They did work on 9/25/23 and anyone could come and see for themselves. No protection gear, professional, not a chance. I would like to have the VP to come down and take a look for themselves. Mold is still thru out entire kitchen. Don't know what they are required but I would of thought that fridge, maybe stove would be moved-play it safe. I have never met a more condescending person in my life. DONT HIRE. I called for air duct cleaning. They stirred up all the dirt and dust in the air ducts and that's it. Never used a vacume or block the vents in the house. dust and dirt came out of the vent in my living room. All over my curtains. They left the debree in my vents Told me the filter would collect the junk. Now my furnace coils need a professional cleaner. Charged me $500.00. I email the company with the complaint. Let this be a warning to all-- bad contractors will haunt you years after they've left your house!! My review has been confused by SMS with ANOTHER dissatisfied customer! The cost of the job was never disputed, and certainly not based on an accelerated completion of scope. I did dispose of their trash which they left. I did clean the water out of my basement from the guy who left my hose running all day,. I did get harassing emails when I didn't pay the moment they left. (Invoice recd weds 5/30/12, harassment began 3rd business day following, monday, 6/4) full payment was sent 6/6 (1 week after invoicing, in spite of SMS not returning to clean up after themselves.) The job did take longer than the 1-2 days quoted, not shorter, actually. It may have been a 1-2 day job, if they showed up on time and did the correct scope. The issue was the workmanship, cleanliness, and completion of what was done. I've saved the unprofessional email thread in its entirety, and it doesn't lie. If you demand contractors who say what they'll do and do what they say, steer clear of SMS. You deserve better. read more

Do not depend on SMS to represent your best interest as a home owner !!! I was purchasing a home, and the bank required that I have a certified mold inspector provide a report. He noted mold damage in places there were none, and then gave me a crazy high estimate for the work to be completed. The bank required that I use his company to do the repair work, and it was SHODDY AT BEST. I HAD TO HAVE IT COMPLETELY REDONE AFTER I MOVED IN. JUST BECUASE THEY ARE CERTIFIED BY THE STATE, DOESN"T MEAN THAT THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING !! The owner refused to answer calls, would just talk to the realtor, and I did not have a choice but to pay him, in order for him to certify that the house was mold free so I could close on the house. His crew left a mess, did not replace plaster, left the BAGS OF MOLD IN THE GARAGE for me to remove. STAY FAR FAR AWAY - FIND SOMEONE ELSE BESIDE SMS !!!
