Stopped in yesterday with my parents and brother. They had the fried chicken sandwich, burger and the salmon. I had already eaten so skipped this meal. They all ordered off the lunch special so it came with a creamy tomato soup. They enjoyed everything and the service was great.

This restaurant was sort of a hidden gem. They accommodated our party of 5 very last minute on a Thursday night. We thoroughly enjoyed every single dish we ordered. The ambience at this restaurant is dark, romantic and classy. I ordered the Campanelle Alla Vodka with Shrimp and the flavor in the pasta was absolutely delicious. The outside layer on the shrimp was a bit too crispy/cooked but it was still extremely tasty. My cocktail, the Vive La Vie Arette was really sweet but still had a good kick to it too! Everybody at my table really enjoyed their food, and the service was outstanding. We had a very kind server, and bussers were great as well. Had a very pleasant dinner at Smyth Tavern on a busy Friday night. Started with the Smyth Tartare (Salmon) and the Warm Baguette - both were good, especially the Baguette (warm, soft and crusty) For our mains, had the Skirt Steak, Steak Frites and the Campanelle Alla Vodka - the steaks were nicely prepared, the Campanelle was a little spicy which we weren't expecting. Finished with a very good Tiramisu. Our server Yolanda was terrific - friendly and helpful. Expecting to be returning!

We had restaurant week lunch menu, since it was such a good deal. Starter: Deviled Egg & Tavern Salad (the deviled egg was delicious & the tavern salad could have more dressing) Main Course: Crispy Chicken Sandwich & Pan Sauteed Black Bass. (The chicken sandwich was not the way I expected, the chicken was super thin and dry, it didn't feel like it was chicken. The Black Bass was good however the potatoes was not cooked) Dessert: Chocolate Cake & Key Lime Pie (Both desserts were good, the chocolate cake was so rich, I couldn't even finish it) On top of the set lunch menu, we also ordered the 1/2 dozen oysters. Loved the oysters. The service was great, friendly and super attentive.

Excellent food and set up. Very elegant and pricey; the sauces that accompanied my steak was amazing. We had to call the staff over more than I like; they could have been a bit more attentive. Uniform cloth napkins and bright lights helped my group to engage.

I visited Smyth Tavern for restaurant week. The venue itself is really nice but the food truly disappoints. The tavern salad was standard and the hamburger was mediocre. The hamburger tasted like McDonald's. The only redeemable factor were the onion rings. The fries were not even crispy. My friend got the black bass and my other friend got the campanelle alla vodka and neither person liked their dish. The pasta lacked seasoning and the black bass was okay, very small portions compared to the other dishes. The chocolate cake was decent but definitely not made fresh. It tasted store bought.

Came here for lunch since it's close to my workplace. I wish I had time to enjoy a drink or two, but I had to head right back to work. The lunch menu was actually quite reasonable and the food tasted great. I went with the omelette something about having an omelette for lunch just felt right that day. There aren't too many diners around this area, so this spot is a solid find with a comfortable atmosphere and good service. I'd definitely like to come back after work one day to try their bar selections.

My friends and I raided the menu at Smyth Tavern and I will say everything we tasted was delicious. Also not shown yet enjoyed in my photos was the Saint Tropez branzino and the filet mignon. The staff was graceful, politely introduced us to our new server as the staff transitioned for the evening. Our server offered us custom cocktails that were produced well. The ambience is sexy yet demurred. I enjoyed my dinner experience with Smyth Tavern.

The service was really good, she was super attentive and was sure to bring out my next course when I was ready. She also gave me the most delicious chocolate chip cookie while I was leaving. Okay, to the food. My salad was delicious, I needed greens after the week I had. I decided to erase all healthiness with this burger though. I wanted to be an adult for once & asked for medium well, however, the burger was more pink than I could handle. I know if I wasn't a punk I would have enjoyed it more because it was good. The onion rings were perfect and the fries were a great addition. I know if the burger was cooked all the way through I would have finished everything on my plate. Solid place & great restaurant if you're staying at the Smyth Tribeca and don't want to go out.

    Chicken paillard. So tasty.

Great drinks. Quiet for lunch but hot spot for dinner. Chicken paillard is on the lunch menu (might be on the dinner too? Not sure) and it's delicious. Crispy rice app is also delish.

Came into Smyth Tavern recently to grab some breakfast. I only sat in the front, but the decor was like a diner but had touches that made it feel a an old-school bar, but it also felt homey. It wasn't packed and I was able to be seated right away. Yolanda was my server and was an absolute gem. She was able to accommodate me by grabbing the breakfast menu. I ordered an orange juice and a Belgian waffle with no Nutella (wasn't in the mood for sweets). The orange juice tasted fresh, though the portion felt slightly small considering the $7 price tag. The waffle itself was enjoyable, especially with the addition of fresh berries. However, there was a slight delay in receiving the warm syrup I requested, and by the time it arrived, the waffle had cooled down. In all, I can recommend Smyth Tavern for a breakfast date, or solo date. If you do go, ask for Yolanda! She is very attentive and accommodating! The postcards with the bill were a nice touch! Thank you for having me!

Great food and service. Such a beautiful and cozy restaurant for a rainy day or late night. Get the chocolate layered cake and the gelato too!

Smyth Tavern is a sophisticated American tavern. It is one of the newest addition to the Tribeca neighborhood. It has a lovely ambiance and is tastefully decorated with artwork curated from local Downtown galleries. Moreover, the restaurant is dimly lit, warm, and cozy. I really enjoy the interior. For dinner, I chose the Roasted Chicken - fingerling potatoes, mushrooms, and chicken jus. Sadly, I did not enjoy this dish. Maybe next time I'll try their signature burger. I heard it was very good. Overall, three stars.

It featured a crispy, sugar-glazed exterior and a soft, chewy interior, topped with truffle cheese and served with a truffle butter dip; the pairing was superb, and it tasted great both on its own and with the dip. For the main course, I ordered the miso-glazed black cod. The flavor was flawless, and while the portion was small (which was acceptable), the pool of broth accompanying it was completely unnecessary; it was inedibly salty, so what was the point of serving it? After finishing the fish, I was left with a plate full of broth, rendering the plate unusable. Plus, it was overpriced; for this dish, you're better off going to Strip House Strip House remains the undisputed king of this dish in New York. A friend ordered the chicken parmesan. It was just average. Another friend ordered the short rib stroganoff. The flavor was decent, but it was far too rich and heavy. As someone whose palate is split 50/50 between Western and Chinese cuisine, I could manage only five bites at most. If you have a palate that prefers 100% Chinese food, proceed with caution on this dish. Friends ordered sides of mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. These are dishes originally meant for low-income Americans to fill up on cheaply; there's no limit to how good they can be, but also no floor to how bad they can get. Both were on par with the average quality found in upscale restaurants. Honestly, these are two dishes I would never order myself. To sum up: the atmosphere was great. It's also hard to get a reservation; the place was packed when we had lunch at 2 PM. Aside from that monkey bread, I didn't feel like anything else justified the price or offered something you couldn't find elsewhere. I don't quite get the hype. Perhaps I just didn't order the right dishes; maybe next time I'll try the burger and the steak.

The Thick Cut Bacon (8.5/10) was sweet, crunchy, and cooked perfectly. The Wagyu Cheeseburger (7.5/10) tasted good, but the bun was too dry, dense, and oversized for the burger. The King Crab Rangoon (8/10) was packed with crab, almost too much for my taste, but the sweet chili and hot mustard sauces balanced it out nicely. The Espresso Martini (6/10) was a pretty standard espresso martini. The Long Island Cold Brew (3/10) tasted like cold brew mixed with vodka, which just wasn't for me. Service was fine overall (7/10). The highlight was the complimentary sorbet they brought out for my friend's birthday. The vibes were classic Hogsalt with dim lighting, old-school jazz, and a cozy atmosphere (7/10).

The ambiance feels straight of the golden age, which is an aesthetic I'm certainly a sucker for. Even their robust cocktail menu fits the bill and is one of the prettiest menus I've ever had the joy of perusing. Staff was able to sit us a little bit ahead of our reservation which was also much appreciated. Wait staff was also very helpful and attentive, I don't think I've ever had my water glass so topped off! Starting off with cocktails, this place is a gin bar through and through and you'd be making a mistake if you didn't try one of their many options. I went with the 10,000 words, which you simply just give a spirit of your choice (I picked gin of course) and whether you antes) wanted your drink shaken or stirred and the bartender does the rest, so a bit of a surprise! I wound up with their version of The Last Word which was delightfully citrusy but I was hoping I'd wind up with something a little more adventurous app things considered. My girlfriend got the blackberry G&T, which was not only very pleasing to look at but delicious to boot. For food, we started with splitting some zucchini blossoms and beef cheek bao buns (both come in portions of 3). Both were tasty, but I love a good bao bun and these were so light and pillowy, I could have just went for an order of those for my main course. For the entree I went for the roasted half chicken, perhaps the most unassuming choice on the menu but this was maybe the best roast chicken I've ever had. Prepared perfectly, cooked to perfection, excellent portion size, and the kicker of it all was the stunning gravy that I was tempted to lick my plate for. Chicken is very easy to screw up, and they nailed it on all fronts here. My girlfriend went for the Valerie Signature burger with white cheddar and this thing did not mess around! A very rich patty, cooked to her temperature of choice served alongside some garlic truffle fries that made an American classic feel just a little more elevated. Our experience was delightful and I'd love to comeback here again, especially to check out more of the cocktail menu and soak in more of that golden age aura the place gives.

Did an earlier dinner on a Saturday with a friend at the bar. We got some similar items, some different. The thing I kept the same was my martinis and all three (sour cream and onion, tomato, and espresso) were just as amazing as ever. Food-wise, I stuck mainly to the classics with one new dish: - Pizza rolls: Very good but 3 pizza rolls for $20 felt small to me. I feel like I remember seeing others served more when I've gone in the past, but not completely sure. They're nostalgic and fun, nothing to die for. - Fries: Great as ever, we opted for just one of the sauces (avocado dill). - French Dip: This used to be cut in 3 pieces and now it's 2. Works well with a duo but I do think it's actually a little smaller now than before when I compare photos. - Samoa sundae: Still amazing, still so so worth. It was fun going with a friend who hadn't been before and seeing the joy upon trying the dish! visited this establishment on a few different occasions (brunch and dinner service). Certain…read moredishes were overly salted and the others were mediocre. The fried calamari could've been less oily, as this took away from the crunch; also slightly overcooked. Baked clams were decent. Salmon was cooked to perfection. Pizza was great! They reheated for us, since our group was too busy chatting. Desserts - phenomenal! Drinks- ehh. Brunch menu - French toast was decent. The salmon over hash brown , was lacking a touch of something , couldn't pinpoint what was lacking. Chicken and waffles, decent, wasn't the best I've had. Service- jonathan was our waiter during brunch and also our bartender. He's GREAT! During service dinner, we had a female waitress and I felt she lacked attention to details and couldn't flag her down when we wanted something. Overall, service is a hit or miss , I guess? If you're looking for an intimate dinner, nope. Love their vibes and music playing in the background. You might need to "shout"'to hear
