Must try the fried squash rings. Would never think to order it but once I had a bite it was a winner. Drinks and food all solid but I went during happy hour for only 1 hour and the bill was $80 for two people already. That just seems like regular pricing to me at this point. Besides that everything was

Corner spot. Low lighting. Tight outdoor seating. Food was okay. Caesar salad tasted more like chicory because it was so bitter. Croutons were great. The squash wheels with yogurt were a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed those. Shrimp with the toast dish was good too! Drinks were also okay. Service was alright. Maybe because we were sitting outside and sometimes servers forget. They kept bringing our next course without the table being bussed. Food runner kept asking if we wanted plates, not sure how we would share the dishes without them. Dessert was underwhelming. Cookie felt like it was microwaved to get warmed up and the scoop of ice cream was smaller than a whip cream dollop. Looked sad. Luckily the San Genarro Festival was entertaining and we got to enjoy that during our dinner.

What a hidden gem this place is. My family and I were out shopping all day in the cold. Every restaurant had huge lines, we failed several times to secure a table. We stumbled upon The Wooly and were so happy we did. Cozy, great ambiance, warm and inviting. Donavon was our server, he was super attentive and very friendly. The cocktails were delicious. The BLTA was good except the bacon was super fatty lacking flavor....ironically. Our bus boy/runner was so nice!! This spot is underrated to say the least. We really enjoyed our lunch here. We would come back here in a heartbeat.

Popped in on my walk down Mulberry street during the San Gennaro fest. The bar area was closed off for a private event, we just wanted drinks, the hostess sat us at a table which was only available for 30 mins. The waitress was very friendly and attentive, our drinks came out quickly. The frozen espresso martini was very good, the margarita not so good. Super cute ambiance, I will be returning to try the food.

I came here to meet a friend while in NY for a day, and neither of us had been before so I wasn't sure they were even open because Google listed their hours as being open from 12pm onwards. I realized that they had a coffee bar window, and that was open before 12pm (12pm is the opening time for the restaurant). I treated my friend to an iced coffee, while I got a hot lavender matcha. The ambiance is conducive to sitting and relaxing outside, taking in the New York seats, while the inside has that vintage vibe and also looks cozy. My friend and I were able to enjoy our drinks and take in the fresh September New York morning. My friend is a chocolate chip cookie connoisseur, and ordered one of their special chocolate chip cookies for both of us to share. She proclaimed it to be "the best chocolate chip cookie in NYC!". With that firm proclamation, I had to believe her. It was easy to believe, as I found the cookie soft, warm, super chewy and buttery, and had enough salt to give it that interesting flavor. I highly recommend pairing their coffee with a cookie! The manager was a nice guy and chatted with us for a bit, and the barista working that day was super helpful as well.

My experience at The Wooly was delightful! Creative cocktails, delicious cuisine, and kind service. The aesthetic was stylish with a retro feel. The Wooly is decorated with CD stacks, vintage cassette players, and even taxidermy, making it a genuinely unique place. I came here for brunch, and tried the "Private Cheeseburger." The cheeseburger was delicious and fresh. I also thought the remoulade was creamy. Overall, 5 stars.

Overall decent brunch spot; the prices of drinks (alc and non alc) were a bit on the steep end but the food prices were reasonable. The mango chutney chicken sandwich was good but felt not very hot by the time it arrived to the table. The restaurant wasn't packed, which was nice.

Pretty lovely place with a cool cd / speaker behind the bar. The drinks themselves were interesting, had one with peppercorn.

Came here expecting good food based on review. We sat outside since we had the dogs with us. The food took a while to come out even though it was not busy. But then that's fine if it was good food. But everything. Was either bland or no flavor. Very disappointing. The staff was friendly but didn't come check on us often so it took a while for us to get our check to leave since it was hot. First time and last time.

Such a cute bar/ restaurant! It felt very cool and moody yet casual and easy going! Most of their food is elevated bar food and it was all so good! We had the burger and fries and those fries were some of the best that I have had! I could have eaten only the fries for dinner and been content! They have an elevated pigs in the blanket that had duck in them and they were mouth watering good as well! The drinks were lovely and so was the staff. 10/10 recommend going!

    Feta bake
    Neena K.

Stopped here on a Saturday afternoon while exploring little Italy neighborhood. Ordered a snack (feta bake with tomatoes etc. and toasted baguette) and coffee. Coffee was at room temperature, my partner asked if they could heat up the coffee and they chose to make a fresh cup. This time the coffee came with a creamer on the side which was cold, so, ten minutes of all that fuss and we were back at square one. The feta bake: the top was charred black, so about a third of the dish was inedible, the part that was edible was heavily salted. All in all a disappointing experience. To top it all, the hostess accosted me on the way out in a very snarky attitude about not leaving any tip. If the tip is an optional thing and the service/food is less than mediocre, that seemed super aggressive. Very underwhelming for a place like NewYork!

The expansion into the building next door tripled the Taproom, and the crowds tripled with it. Here's the thing though. The Irish Coffee is still the best in America. Served warm, not scalding, cream whipped to order and floated so it sits like a lid. Three tables around me ordered rounds at 2pm and nobody was wrong. The Parlor upstairs is where the actual bar still lives. Sixteen cocktails you can't get downstairs, table service, relative quiet. Downstairs, skip the fried chicken (it's tenders, whatever the menu says) and get the fish and chips, which are honest. Service was fast and a little impersonal, which is what happens when your ground floor is 60 percent tourists photographing the dollar bills on the ceiling. The 1828 building still does a lot of work, low ceilings and all. Is it the world's best bar anymore? No, and half the old bar team has scattered to open their own spots around town, Limo in the East Village being the latest.
