I was finally able to talk my friend into coming here. We ordered at the counter and was able to seat ourselves. We were given a number to set on our table. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. My friend ordered the Meatball Sub. I got a personal thin crust pepperoni pizza and of course the Cracksticks. You have to order the cracksticks when coming to Danny Mac's. Food was very delicious and the atmosphere was amazing. We will be back at some point. This is definitely and underrated pizza joint in Louisville. Great stop if you're at Butchertown, Antique Shop and the other places.

I placed a phone order for pick up and ordering over the phone was a breeze. It didn't take very long for the order to be ready. This is located in a small shopping center on La Grange Road. Going inside it wasn't very busy for a Saturday. Unbeknownst to me they had a small bar behind the with beer taps and some liquor. I never knew this otherwise I would've opted to dine in instead of eating in the car. I love how the inside is setup it is small but pretty cool on the inside. Definitely love the nostalgic look. I ordered the Pepperoni pizza that was their Pizza Week special for $10. I also got a drink. Service was awesome and I couldn't be anymore pleased. They do have specials listed on the chalkboard close to the door. For the pizza, it was greasy but, delicious. I loved how they season the crust and it was also very good. I would love to come back and try their other food. I was definitely impressed with the pizza and the service.

My MIL lives in NC, and we met up for dinner while family was visiting. We got a long table out front and were able to decide on a few pizzas to try, including a basic cheese (for the kids), pepperoni and sausage and the chicken pesto. Each was good, with the chicken pesto my favorite. The flavors worked really well together. We didn't have to wait too long for our pizzas and could also enjoy a glass of beer -- the adults, not the kids ;-) -- to round out the evening. NC boasts several restaurants now, but I would definitely come here again.

1/2 STAR rated for Frankfort Avenue: Where Customer Service Goes to Die…read more After multiple visits, I can confidently say the Frankfort Avenue location has achieved something remarkable: consistency. Unfortunately, the consistency is almost entirely terrible. The male host and two male servers seem to have perfected the art of being rude, sarcastic, ill-mannered, and condescending. Listening to a customer apparently isn't part of the job description. Instead, you get plenty of unsolicited explanations delivered with the confidence of someone who has never considered that the customer might actually know what they ordered. And then there's the Create Your Own Pizza experience. Apparently, "Create Your Own" also means Create Your Own Waiting Time. 30+ minutes seems to be the standard regardless of how few people are dining. It's difficult to understand how a restaurant with a nearly empty dining room can make a pizza feel like a special-order expedition. Food arriving at the wrong table is apparently another feature. On multiple occasions, food has been delivered to the wrong customer and then simply retrieved from that table and brought to the person who actually ordered it. No fresh order. No replacement. No problem, apparently. Nothing says "quality control" quite like making a customer's meal take a detour through someone else's table. The female bartender/server is equally memorable for an entirely different reason: ice cold. And the on-tap beer? Stale. One incident was particularly astonishing. I witnessed a dissatisfied customer and his wife refuse to pay for stale alcohol. Rather than allowing the situation to end there, a server chased the couple down Frankfort Avenue after they left. That is an extraordinary approach to customer relations. Most restaurants try to resolve a complaint at the table; apparently this location prefers a sidewalk follow-up. To be fair, there are two female servers who actually get it. They listen to what customers request, pay attention to the details, and check the food before taking it to the person who actually ordered it. In other words, they provide the basic level of service one would reasonably expect when spending money at a restaurant. So, after multiple visits, my verdict is simple: 1/2 star. The Frankfort Avenue location has turned ordering a pizza into a test of patience, receiving food into an exercise in table roulette, and customer service into an occasional pursuit down Frankfort Avenue. Maybe the Douglass Loop location has a completely different culture and will actually be worth the time and money. As for Frankfort Avenue? Save yourself the trip.
